      I worked for the state of North carolina for 23 years. I was bit by a stay cat and had to have rabies shots. blus cross and blue sheield refused to pay for. they would not pay my last procedure. ****** Kay ******

      BC/B/**** has not worked well for me. Ive paid so much out of pocket over the last year and my deductible is high. To top it off they have just raised my monthly payment, months before the open window for ******** supplemental insurance change will occur. I will be switching ASAP. Many insurance plans out there for a fraction of of what I now pay.

      May I leave 0 stars? I appreciate the curtesy of the representatives I have spoken with. However, they are supervised and led by perhaps one of the most incompetent management teams in business today. I have now worked for more than five months to resolve claims that have been either, a) received but not processed or b) processed based on their system inputting an incorrect diagnostic code.Whenever you send claims by facsimile, the claims are received (I call several weeks later to confirm receipt); the claims are simply ignored. Please don't bother with sending claims by facsimile as they won't be processed.And then, a number of claims with correct diagnostic codes clearly listed on the provider invoice were processed with an incorrect diagnostic code - at which time (it takes one month to receive a reply and this delays the process) the claims are rejected due to an incorrect diagnostic code.I could continue. The phone staff are pleasant and trying to work hard. The management layers overseeing the processes are incompetent.

      I have a MediGap Plan G with BCBSNC. I have one doctor I see and pay out of pocket once a week. She's in private practice and doesn't file ********, but her service is covered by ********. I do the paperwork and file the claim with ********. They send their summary notification (***) along with a check covering their 80% to me. I then send the *** and receipts to BCBSNC for reimbursement of the balance. Last May 2024 I sent BCBSNC receipts and ******** *** for the entirety of 2023. It's March 2025 and I have not been paid. I have called them repeatedly. They have restarted "the process" no less than four times. They even sent a 1099-**** claiming to have paid the $1900 in 2024 (technically, fraud). Never in my life have I seen such dishonesty, especially from a "respectable" company I grew up with. However, from the other reviews I see I have plenty of company.The only reason for giving two stars is to maybe catch someone's attention. They deserve the worst score possible. Not BBB Accredited, indeed.

      BCBS has been overall pretty terrible to work with. After a big stroke, BCBS has denied coverage for an acute rehab stay even after an appeal, even though his physicians, the therapists and the medical director of the rehab facility have all approved that as his care plan.

      Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina now uses bots in place of human customer service agents. Its one thing to have a bot direct traffic and direct me to an agent. Its another when the agent isnt an agent but a bot disguised as an agent. These bots are unable to field even the simplest of questions. When I asked the bot if she was human, she said, I understand your concern. When she used my name the tone flattened and dropped. This company has crossed the boundary for me. In effect they are saying humans are unworthy of fielding questions by other humans.

      WARNING !! Been promised numerous times by BCBS THAT THEY WOULD REVERSE WRONGFULLY CHARGES IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, MANY CALL BACKS THAT NEVER COME. nothing was getting done and was afraid credit would end up suffering by no fault OF OURS . WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER EXPERIENCED. E #1 AT IS BEING THE WORST OF THE WORST BUSINESS . HAVE went through local **************** , Social Security Admin. Office, The Marketplace, Medical places BEGGING SOMEONE TO HELP US to get them to make BCBS Responsible for getting this Fraud reversed and taken care of so can stop paying hard earned funds for something that should have never happened. Talk about a RIP OFF. now OWE due to this wrongful reverse of charges and WRONGFUL use of social security number. ( This issue is due to a Local Employer Which BCBS gave us His Name, phone number, Address to contact him(GOLD FIGURE ON THE PRIVACY POLICY!! and stated it was up to us to straighten THIS MESS THEY MADE BY NOT VERIFYING HIS EMPLOYEES SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER BEFORE ISSUING HIM INSURANCE THROUGH THIS EMPLOYER. which resulted in All of my son's BCBS payments and Discounts to be reversed for 2021 and 2022. By doing this it has resulted in making My Son RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF these payments consisting of medical Inst. and Doctors that were once paid but, due to this situation that should have never existed. this started this past August of 2024 . I HOPE THIS IS A (LARGE SIGN) WARNING NOT TO DO ANY BUSINESS WITH BCBS . BCBS IS NOT INTERESTED IN DOING ANYTHING BUT TAKING YOUR MONEY FOR PAYMENTS I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT. going as public with this as we possibly can so that this doesn't happen to any other innocent People. Noone should have to go through what we have experienced from this wrongfully act of BCBS not willing to correct their mistake . WILL BE CONTACTING THE ************ COMMISSIONER OF ** SHORTLY TO SEE WHAT ACTIONS CAN BE TAKEN AGAINST A BUSINESS OPERATING IN THIS MANNER. *** *. 11/22/2024

      I pay my insurance every month every year they increase my rates and decrease my coverage most recently. I need insulin shots two different types three times a day and they want to charge me over $400 a month. I called Blue Cross they say oh lets call your provider and will send them the correct more economic version that goes through just fine except the new recommended medicine is even more expensive. Im sorry since when does an insurance company know whats better for my health better than my doctor? Im so sorry if the medication is more expensive, thats why you continue to raise my rates so I can get the coverage I need I thought at least.

      Refused to provide insurance care for necessary testing when I learned that a close relative had a known gene mutation associated with certain forms of tumors and cancers. Claimed that such care was "not in accordance with accepted standards of medical practice" in *****************, which I know is incorrect since both my PCP and my endorinologist provided clear and specific referrals regarding the need for such a test so that I could potentially monitor myself for increased tumor risks going forward.
