      What a horrible experience!!!!! This company deserves NO STARS but I am forced to give it one star. The customer service experience is AWFUL. The in network list for getting perscriptions filled out of state is LOUSY. The option I was given was to fly to North Carolina to have my prescription filled or to pay for it myself or find an in network provider from a limited list. What kind of a service provider does that????? I will get away from this company as fast as I can.

      I've had a policy with blue cross for 42 years and never missed a payment. I've always been extremely satisfied with their service. I now have back pain that is getting worse by the day. After trying a chiropractor ( 11 visits starting 4months ago ) that wasn't relieving the pain I got a referral to a spine specialist. Per his advice, I tried excersizes and injections, the pain was only getting worse. I then lined up a surgeon that said he could fix it. I was scheduled to be in surgery Monday morning. The surgeon scheduler notified me on Thursday that bcbsnc denied my claim,this cancelling the surgery. I was shocked that they could even do this, I had already copaid the hospital, stopped all my meds and lined up assistance for transportation to and from the hospital.On top of the pain now I have to deal with the frustration of trying to get rescheduled. I'm currently seeing a physical therapist that bcbs says is a prerequisite for surgery. I guess for now I have to deal with pain

      So now instead of going to a pharmacy and receiving a flu shot at no cost, BCBSNC plans require you to visit a medical provider to receive it. So now a flu shot will cost me a $30 Copay for the visit! That's a strange way to promote staying well vs. a hospital visit once you get the flu....

      Changed my policy benefits at the last minute after I purchased. Even received cards showing the original policy benefits and then received new cards with new benefits a week before my policy went into effect to start the new year. Prescription drug prices tripled, coinsurance added for services that did not have coinsurance in the original plan when I purchased. .
      Lost claims I submitted by mail and returned other claims to me due to technicalities in paperwork that they recently changed. Absolutely tryng to make it as difficult as possible for anyone to file any claim in their own.
      Immoral business anyone who works for them should be absolutely ashamed.

      Consistently given misinformation by customer service. Obviously poorly trained. Extremely frustrating to navigate through what benefits my children will receive. Months of time wasted waiting on assistances that were guaranteed but never given. Zero ?? s!

      BCBS Dental Insurance policy holder for years. Paid in 6 month increments for years. Had a discrepancy of FIVE dollars, they terminated the plan. Now they do not want to give my 5 months payment back. Called and asked to talk with customer svc supervisor twice. First, customer svc rep wanted to argue and would never connect me, 2nd one put me on hold and left. Screw this inept company.

      This is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have been trying to get a claims check reissued for 8 MONTHS! I have called upwards of 30 times where I get transferred at least 5 times before I get someone willing to speak to me. They look up my account and say they see where it is, and the first 3 times I called they said it was put it to be reissued. I wait and nothing. Finally the 4th time I'm told the address is wrong because the first three times I called they NEVER CHANGED the address. So now I have to wait 30 more days for the address update to go into effect and then 30 more to get my money. Waited...nothing came. Called and after 2 hours, finally got a supervisor saying she was reaching out to the finance office that was handling it and would call me the next day and gave me her direct line. I never got a call and have been calling for three weeks..no response. I emailed corporate where I was told again the verify my address. So I called and am waiting for another supervisor cause I'm being told it will be another 30 days which I'm sure will come and go with no check again and I'll keep repeating this cycle. My next call if that check is not reissued today is to my lawyer. I will sue them for fraud! I am done with this **. They are unprofessional and rediculous. I will NEVER do business with them again! Ever!

      I have had multiple insurance companies over the 40 years and they are the worst!. Let me preface by saying I understand that once government gets involved everything turns to crap. I am retired military and have had back surgeries, over a decade ago, they started me on Pain Meds, I have worked to reduce my dosage trying to beat it, But at the same time I have chronic back pain, I am on something called *******, at first they did everything they could not to cover it, they refuse to cover it until I tried something I had tried already, then they wanted my doctor to verify I had tired it and we went round and round. It did not matter to them I had been on these for 12 years. I usually get it filled every 30 days so this time they took it upon themselves to withhold it an extra day because somewhere along the line they said I got it filled a day early, even though I am under contractual obligation to turn in any extra I have to my pain doc. I am just confused because my pain doctor and I have my dosage well under control, BCBS is payed to just provide services not decide when and where I need something. I have doctors for that. I am asking my company to drop BCBS I have Tri-Care which will cover EVERYTHING with no hesitation, But with BCBS as primary I am stuck. As a vet who was in 3 conflicts I expect to be given what I need without all the hassle. Lastly, I understand it is cheaper to outsource your call center to India, But continually having to ask to repeat something is tiresome

      Prior Authorization for medication is a scam! Some desk doctor flags random medications to be prior authorized before you can get them, whether they're long standing medications or not. For the past month, I've been working on getting my sons' medication approved. Incidently, they approved my other son's medication...same medication! Now I'm being told they need 2 prior authorizations, one for the medication, one for the quantity. I've placed 3 calls to BCBS, numerous calls to the pharmacy and the doctor's office. The calls to BCBS are a joke as their customer service is in India! The reps are very nice, but hard to understand and they are not sitting here in the US dealing with our cluster **** of a healthcare system! Medications don't need pre-approval they are prescribed by our personal doctors who know the patient and situation, not some ******* sitting at a desk somewhere trying to invent reasons not to pay. I will NOT RECOMMEND BCBS, and this will be the last time I purchase a policy from them. I had the same problems in the past with this company."
      This is the review I've posted on YELP and I will continue to post reviews of BCBS all over the internet because I'm getting no where going through the proper channels. The rep I dealt with yesterday tried to get ahold of a supervisor for me to no avail. I waited well over 15 minutes for a supervisor.
