Source Receivables Management put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. I request that Source Receivables Management verify the following information. 1. Full original Account Number 2. Date original Account was opened 3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed 4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt 5. Date of the first delinquency 6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law. If Source Receivables Management is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs. Source Receivables Management also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.Business Response

We have received and reviewed the consumer complaint stating we never sent her anything advising we would credit report her account and she wants validation of the debt and for us to delete her account from the consumer reporting agencies. Source Receivables Management received this account from the creditor (******) on 03/24/2022 because they believe it to be valid and owed. Be advised that Source Receivables Management was hired by ****** to collect on this account balance, however, does not own the debt. Source Receivables Management works on behalf of ******. We mailed her out a First Notice/Validation notice on 03/30/2022. This notice provided information about the debt and went over her rights to dispute the account and/or request validation documentation in writing to our office. Validation was supposed to be requested in writing within 30 days. This letter was mailed to the address on file which matches the address she has listed as hers in this complaint. This letter was not returned to us as undeliverable, and we believe her to have received it. This letter also advised that the account could end up being reported to the consumer reporting agencies. We were never sent a written request for validation. We then receive this complaint. Be advised she is outside of her validation period therefore we have no legal obligation to supply anything further, however we have mailed her out a verification letter pursuant to FDCPA. Also be advised this account is believed to be valid and owed therefore we are unable to delete her account from the consumer reporting agencies while placed with our office. We will however report her account as disputed going forward though. Source Receivables Management has handled this account appropriately and lawfully. We hope we have helped resolve the consumer’s complaint. We are a professional debt collector; however this communication is for the sole purpose of responding to your complaint and is NOT an attempt to collect a debt.Initial Complaint

I have been receiving call from this company saying they are collecting on a debt on behalf of ******. I ask the first of the 6 different people who called me to send me my original documents to prove I owe this debt at the amount that they are disclosing because to my knowledge this debt was settled. Never received said documentation. Also along with this same call the person collecting states to me that “I know you have gotten your taxes so you can handle this.” I informed her that this is not her or the companies business and until they can provide what I asked for there was nothing to further discuss. This was end of March. I got injured in April and I have not work since and they have called me on on may occasions and 4 people where understand and yet still never submitted documentation to prove so owe. This last call I received today 6/9/22 they called and as how i wanted to take care of the matter. I stated I have not been working and “ then proceeded to ask how have you been taking care of your bills the pass 2 months?” I told her that this probing question is not relevant and she laughs and said it is. I hung up. I will not stand to be harassed.Business Response

We have received and reviewed the consumer complaint stating that we were rude to her and failed to validate her debt upon multiple requests and she wants us to cease and desist, send her validation and delete her account from the consumer reporting agencies. Source Receivables Management received this account from the creditor (******) on 04/04/2022 because they believe this account to be valid and owed. Please be advised that Source Receivables Management was hired by ****** to collect on this account balance, however, does not own the debt. We mailed her out a First Notice/Validation Notice on 04/08/2022. This notice advised the consumer that this account had been placed with our office and provided her rights to both dispute the debt and/or request to us in writing within 30 days, validation of the debt. This letter was mailed to the address on file which matches the address she has provided as hers in this complaint and was not returned to our office as undeliverable, therefore we believe her to have received it. We were not sent a written request for validation as alleged. Per FDCPA validation requests must be placed in writing to the business during one’s validation period and had she asked for this verbally she would have been directed to mail her request into our office. As per her allegations that an agent stated “we know she received her taxes” we would need to know when this call took place as there are many calls between April and June. We did pull and listen to the call from 06/09/2022 and her allegations that our agent laughed at her and stated “it is” to her comment that asking questions was probing is not accurate. Ms. ***** stated that we can’t ask questions as that is probing and our agent informed her that we are supposed to ask questions and there is relevance to the questions we ask since she has a delinquent debt that is owed. Be advised this account is believed to be valid and owed therefore we are unable to delete her account from the consumer reporting agencies while her account is placed with our office. We will, however, continue to report her account as disputed. Also be advised per her request we will cease and desist, however that will not make this balance go away. We hope we have helped resolve the consumer’s complaint. We are a professional debt collector; however, this communication is for the sole purpose of responding to your complaint and is NOT an attempt to collect a debt.Initial Complaint
