  It seems that I'm not the only one being scam by this company (TRA). My question is: what is BBB doing to stop them?. Hidden Maintenance Fees for a place that It was supposed to be free for the weekend? It is ridiculous to pay for something useless! On the other hand, there is no availability to those places that you really want to visit. They can keep the $4,000.00 I paid for my 5 year membership for the cancellation of my contract and stop asking for more money because they will not see another ***** from me!

  We were not able to use any of the programs that Travel Resorts of America said we would have access to. During Covid, the money was tight and we were still paying for a service that we couldn't use. They actually wanted us to pay for what was supposed to be a free week. All the specialties and amenities we were given required extra money to be paid. We werent able to use anything with Travel Resorts of America, Coast to Coast, Hop away Holiday or Good ***. All were included in the package with extra fees and still we were not able to use them. Travel Resorts of America has essentially provided us with no service at all. We would like Travel Resorts of America to cancel our contract.

  They lied to me about access to get me to sign up. When I actually tried to use the membership there was NOTHING available. They refuse to cancel my membership because there is an outstanding loan. BEWARE

  This company ***** total misleading tried to opt out because my wife and I don't use it as much as we thought talked to a rep and was told I had to pay almost **** dollars to get out because I sign a contract that supposedly obligated us for 30 years don't remember the salesman even mentioning anything about it DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU Complete rip off

  Total scam we learned the hard way! A 90 minute tour took over 5 hours. The salesman was a con man full of misinformation. We're told we had 14 days to change our mind. Called got no answer every time no return call finally reached someone who told us our deadline had passed and it was actually 5 days not 14 like we were told. They did not care that this salesman completely misrepresented and out right lied to us for the sale. Spoke with a lawyer they were very confident they would win just with the misrepresentation but it would cost us $4000. They got us good.

  Member of TRA for about 10 years. Just got off the phone with **** to make reservations and inquire about website and account information, and she was extremely friendly, courteous, professional and, most importantly, customer service-oriented. Tina answered my questions and assisted me to my complete satisfaction. Kudos to her and TRA.

  We purchased membership for $1595.00 in 2018. We have not been able to book a reservation at ******** ***** in NC due to no availability. We were told they would always find us a site because we were members. Lie. Recently, my husband has developed health issues and we do not travel far from our home in PA. TRA wants to charge us $3,000 to cancel a $1595 membership, which is twice what we purchased it for. Our membership is paid in full. We have paid our dues. We can no longer use this membership. We need to cancel it. We are will to surrender it to TRA in full. Let us out!! Too many people are complaining about you company, for good reason. You are conducting your business in a scrupulous manner and word of mouth is going around to not do business with you. We aren't asking much. Just let us surrender our membership back to you and be done with it.

  This company is a huge scam and a total waste if money. $9000 later for absolutely nothing and they are saying I need to pay an additional $4000 to cancel. The contract I signed wasn't even with this company but they bought out outdoor midwest resorts. My contract says nothing about an exit fee. They are trying to steal money from people. DO NOT TRUST THEM! They also require yearly maintenance fees (currently $500 but they keep increasing) for life!

  Travel Resorts of Midwest purchased the campgrounds from *** at the beginning of 2022. Once your account is paid in full, Travel Resort of Midwest will be happy to discuss options for your membership going forward. Travel Resort of Midwest has the obligation to fulfill the membership usage as the new owner which is funded through the payment of the maintenance fees. Per your contract, the maintenance fees may increase. As you can image with all the increases in supply cost, insurance, maintenance, etc. have made it necessary to increase the maintenance fees this year.
  Our records show you stayed with us at the ******** ******* Resort and the **. ***** ***** Resort during the 2022 season. We want to continue to place you on vacation and our Member Services department is here to assist you in continued use of your membership for this upcoming season in the meantime.
