Truliant is terrible. I have my car loan with them, and I have never been disrespected like this by a company. I purchase my car in 2019 with them and I never had a problem always paid on time. I received a phone call stating that my balance for my car payment is 900$. I was confused because I just recently paid that month. When I spoke with the lady to try to figure out what was the issue. She informed me that another lean was placed on my car for not having insurance. Which made my car payment increase. I stated that I did have insurance and been with the insurance company for the last 8 years. She informed me that they mailed me a letter to verify that I had insurance. I told her that I never receive a letter. They had they wrong address. She told me to get my insurance info together and gave me the number to allied which is their company that handles situations like this. So, I did just that. Allied spoke with my insurance company verified that I had insurance never had a lapse in coverage. When I spoke with someone about changing my payments back. They informed me that I was going to have to pay that balance. I argued that is not fair that you guys didn't have the right address because I changed it with teller. No one could call me about my insurance or that my car payment changed but yall called to let me know about my balance. I spoke with an older lady, and she was rude to me. I told her I didn't have 680$ for a car payment. She stated "I know you got your taxes you can pay it. You got it. I do not know why yall act like yall do not have to pay yall car payment." She was so rude. No one wants to help. Every person I talked to was rude to me after that. I tried to pay them for my February payment. They denied me they said they want the full payment.Truliant Federal Credit Union

Dear Ms. ******, On behalf of Truliant Federal Credit Union, thank you for sending us your concerns regarding the force placed insurance that was added to your account. Truliant is committed to providing excellent service to our member-owners and wants to exceed their expectations. After further research, we made some adjustments to your loan to remove the increased payment amounts that occurred from the force placed insurance. We are happy to report that we were able to process a skip payment for you and your loan has now been brought to a current status. Thank you for bringing this experience to our attention and allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns. What a miserable experience I had with this company trying to make my first vehicle payment with them. My first payment was due 2/26/23. I went to pay online on 2/24/23 when I saw my payment was $160 higher then I had agreed on. I instantly got on the phone to talk to someone. The first person did not know why my payment was so much higher so they connected me with another person. She informed me that because they did not have my insurance info, which the dealership had or I wouldn’t of been able to drive it home, that their insurance company added it on. That their insurance company should of mailed me 3 times before adding their fees. In no way did they contact me. I was told I could go online to the insurance company and put in the proper info which I did. I then called Truliant back to ask them to drop the fee and got a person that insisted that in the agreement I signed it states I must provide them with my insurance info. We both read it and it does not say that. All it says is that I need to have insurance which I had since I bought the vehicle. She repeated herself several times and said in no way would she drop that fee since it was my fault for not replying to the letters. Come to find out they mailed those letters to the wrong address. That means those letters were returned. No one called me or emailed me either. Once we figured that out I asked Truliant again to take that $160 off my first payment. They refused and said it would be taken off the end of the note. I told them several times I did not have the extra money and then they wanted to send me to collections. Collections? On my first payment? This was just wrong! I wonder how many other people this has happened to financing a vehicle with them.Truliant Federal Credit Union

On behalf of Truliant Federal Credit Union, thank you for sending us your concerns regarding the insurance that was placed on your account. Truliant is committed to providing excellent service to our member-owners and wants to exceed their expectations. After completing further research, we show that your insurance company was not reporting Truliant as a lien holder within your policy. This is a vital piece of information that your lien holder requires in order to prevent forced placed insurance in the future. We show that we now have the necessary insurance documents and you will be issued a refund that should be reflected within the next two weeks. Also, on 02/28/23, adjustments were made to your payment amount to reflect your normal monthly payment as discussed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and giving us the opportunity to assist you.Review fromTaylor S

1 starIf I could leave 0 stars I would! Terrible institution! 1. If you are refinancing a loan- they won’t wire the funds to your current lender. So be prepared to pay double interest for both loans for 2 weeks while your payoff check is being shipped via the lowest possible speed mail possible. 2. To open a loan you must open a savings account as well- they are both connected. My loan was not set up correctly or finished processing correctly, therefore my savings account was not set up correctly. Which brings me to my issue below. 3. After making multiple phone calls and speaking to at least 5 people I will summarize my experience. I have spent no less 3 hours on the phone attempting to rectify the issue above. Because my accounts were not setup correctly, my loan payments from my Truliant savings account to my loan were rejected. I was then cut off from making online payments online and charged returned check fees. Each time I called no one knew what was going on and I was put on hold for 30 minutes at a time. I was told the issue was rectified and it would not be and I would have to call again. I believe the issue has now been resolved but I cannot say for sure and am not hopeful. I requested compensation for their error- I had to spend hours on the phone trying to fix their mistake just to be able to pay my loan. I asked for compensation for my time, I received nothing. Not even a little $25 account credit. I should have been paid the minimum wage for hours on the phone as much as they made me work just to be able to pay my loan. Had I not continued to call and call and call I wouldn’t have been able to make my payments. 4. They close at 5:30 so you’ll most likely have to carve out time during your work day to get assistance. I wish I never opened my loan with them and as soon as it’s paid off I will be closing my accounts. That is if I don’t just go to another bank and refinance before then.Review fromBrandy N

Thinking about switching banks and all our loans. There seems to be an issue with my account. I have gone in person to my local branch in Kernersville to discuss, I have called an discussed and nothing seems to be done about. Local branch says to call when it happens again because there is likely an issue with my account that can be fixed. CS says they have made a ticket (months ago) and someone will reach out. No one reachs out. So local branch passed the buck to the CS phone number and CS passes the buck to "the merchant". No one takes responsibility or explains anything. No one ever reaches back out. And Im still having transactions that dont show up for a day, two days, three days afterwards. Transactions seem to be processed at whoevers convenience but mine. We have other bank accounts and the same transactions at the same places show up immediatly after the purchase. No one wants to contact or explain why, its just more passing the buck or someone will follow up with you which again, never happens. Also worth mentioning that checks have processed without showing up as pending or completed, so its looking like money is taken out of my account with nothing to account for it. Then I have to call asking where is the missing money only to be told a check was processed, but it doesnt show up on online banking for me to see. When opening the checking account the guy messed up several things that had to be fixed, I looked past that but here we are now. The same guy that opened my account lied about overdrafting protection, that I didnt want. Its just been a crap show. If this doesnt get fixed or if I have to keep reaching out about invisible transactions, I will be leaving.Truliant Federal Credit Union

Tried to repo my truck that was already paid for. Never sent a payment book after multiple calls made by me and a personal visit to their corporate office explaining the situation and making a significant payment. They also made me pay the repo fee after the final payment was made. Will never use nor recommend again.Truliant Federal Credit Union

1 star, Truliant mortgage department is the worst ever. They have put us through so much with our mortgage in the past 3 years that it's incredible. First off we had an escrow and they didn't pay our insurance three times. The first time it just got settled and the insurance was paid latter time. The second time insurance company canceled but was nice enough to reinstate. The third time they refused to reinstate because true lion mortgage department did not pay our insurance. Mind you we were paying it on time every month. Finally we got our own insurance and was able to get out of the escrow. Now they have sent us two letters in the past 2 months stating that our Hazard insurance has been canceled which is untrue. They say they have no record of us having any Hazard insurance which is untrue. Our agent as well as myself has sent the information that we believe that they won't but they still send us these threatening letters that they are going to buy insurance for us. I do not recommend using Truliant Federal Credit Union for your mortgage. Bad bad badReview fromLeann L

I keep getting denied for loans, even though I have good credit and make all my payments on time. I've had a line of credit with them before, which I paid off early, and an auto loan, which was always paid on time, but when I applied for a loan to help to help cover moving expenses, or to consolidate some of my bills, I get rejected.Truliant Federal Credit Union

1 starTerrible experience trying to take out a loan with Truliant. We ended up withdrawing our application due to the horrid customer service and the several mistakes that were made throughout the process, and even after we cancelled. The representatives have no respect for first time customers, and seem to tell you anything just to get you off the phone. I felt as if I was a burden to the representatives that I spoke with. I do not trust this company and will not be recommending them to anyone.
