I had borrowed $500.00 from Maxlend. They are a rip-off. they charge consumers so much interest, it's ridiculous. I took out a loan in January of 2025 to pay off some bills. The company would not invest anything in the principal, only in the interest. Now it's been 6 months and I only have ***** put towards the principal. This is insane. You guys should have regulations on payday loans.Business Response

Agreed to a 2month loan for 400 paying back $480 after interest over 2 months, $50 to the principle every week for 8 weeks. CONTRACT COMPLETELY TORN APART BY MAXLEND, REPLACED BY NEW CONTRACT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! how is that allowed? New contract *** never signed is 10 months of paying off $400 loan at 300% interest, over $2000 now. Weekly payments of $58 but only $8 goes to the principle and $50 in interest. I received a call from a collection agency about a loan I knew nothing about. I've never even heard of this company before they said the loan was taking out and April of 2024 and they are trying to get payment. Why would a company first of all wait over a year to contact someone about a loan they supposedly took from them or took out I should say I know nothing about this company it is not me that they are talking about are referring to but they have all of my information I have made a police report and I guess I will contact my lawyer if this is not resolved. Once again never heard of the company never had any contact with this company. This is all fraudBusiness Response

MAXLEND does not answer their phone number. I have called multiple times to revoke my payment authorization as listed in my loan documents and no costumer representative answers the phone. I also called to revoke ELECTRONIC DEBIT AUTHORIZATION CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION REMOTELY CREATED CHECK AUTHORIZATION PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION UPON DEFAULT They make you revoke each one separately. I have already paid $1736 for the $1500 I borrowed and very little has been applied to the principal, I cant even get someone on the phone to discuss a settlement. They want another $1462.53 to pay off the loan.Business Response

Application Date 9/16/2024 Effective Date 9/17/2024 Loan No.:322216240 In September I applied for a loan with MaxLend in the amount of $400.00. A representative at that company explained that I was to pay $125.00 every two weeks for two months so that my loan would be complete. However I was then notified that Final Maturity Date was going to be 5/30/2025. My annual percentage rate was ******%. This is not what I was advised during my call with the representative when I got the loan. I paid it off in its entirety, it was on auto pay and there was no way for me to remove this without adding another bank account but I felt that Id been taken advantage of. I dont know that theres anything that can be done about this but Id like to report this business and make it known that its likely not the best lender for consumers out there.Business Response

I took out a loan from MaxLend for $1,000 in July of 2024. I was under the impression that I would be paying roughly $120 a month. I did not realize that I was being charge $412 a month. I realize that error is on my part. However, when I paid off the loan I realized that I had been charged almost 1.5 times the cost of the actual loan. This does not seem ethical for a legitimate business to be charging this amount on a first time loan in which I set up automatic payments and paid every month on time. I did contact customer service on 4-29-2024 to ask for a justification of the cost. All the customer service representative and manager said was essentially that I had signed the contract and there was nothing they could do because the loan was paid off, however both people agreed that it was a ridiculous amount to be charge. They are preying on the weak and vulnerable with no concern. I asked ChatGPT, "Can you tell me how much I would owe if I took out a loan for $1000 with a daily interest rate of 47.2%?" I will leave you with the response and ask that you look into the corrupt manner in which this business is running and shut them down or force them to stop this unethical, unjustifiable, cruel practice.ChatGPT:A daily interest rate of 47.2% is extremely high and likely unrealistic in most legitimate financial contextsits far higher than typical payday loans or even illegal loan shark rates. But Ill calculate it for you so you can see how dangerous such a rate would be.Lets assume simple interest first (no compounding), then do compound interest for comparison.?? Simple Interest Formula:Interest =??????Interest=Prt Where:??=$1000 P=$1000 ??=47.2 %=***** r=47.2%=***** (daily rate)??=numberofdays t=numberofdays Lets calculate for just 1 day:Interest =1000 ***** 1 =$472 Interest=1000*****1=$472 Total owed after 1 day:1000 +472 =$1472 1000+472= $1472 ?Business Response

Her electronic signature on the loan documents signified her acknowledgment and agreement of the payment terms and her acceptance of repaying the loan as indicated. In the attached, we provided a copy of her original loan agreement.
Additionally,as the loan agreement outlines, she was never obligated to keep the loan for the entire term, as alternative payment options were available to help reduce the overall cost of the loan, which would also save on interest and shorten the life of the loan.
A review of the account was completed to determine if a refund was due. After a thorough review, it was concluded that no payments were processed for incorrect amounts on the loan issued, no unauthorized payments were made, and no overages were paid above what she was advised and agreed to pay. All payment arrangements were correctly made based on the loan agreements she signed.
We are hopeful that this will lead to a mutually agreeable resolution with Ms. *******

The first of January, I was having financial problems due to a health issue and owed a medical bill that had to be pay. At the time, I did not have access to the $1000 I needed so during a ****** search I came across the Maxlend site. I applied without alot of knowledge (mistake on my part) and now Im in worse financial shape than before. I got accepted for $1000 and now I am paying $250.47 biweekly and these payments are scheduled until September. Ive already paid $1677.51 in payments and Friday will be another $250 added to that. I cant believe it is even legal to charge people 4 times the amount they borrowedMaxlend needs to be shut down. I am struggling now and cant even pay for my medicines. Ive tried to contact Maxlend but cant get anyone.Business Response

I took ouut a loan from maxlend a konth or two ago. Im getting charged every two weeks, and 99% of the payment goes to interest. This was not agreed upon. The interest rate comes out to over 500%. Every time they charge $71 the total balance comes down y $2, the rest voes into intefest. These were NOT the terms I agreed upon. They lied about the terms and now im stuck. Tried contacting them, they recused to help. I tried stolpping one payment and theh changed their name seberal times and still charged me! I cannot afford this. Everytime I make a payment, the majority judt goes to interest I mever wouldve signed up for a loan if I knew they would switch up the term. I never agreed to such high rates and maxlend purposely mislead me and locked me into an unfair agreement. Next step is to contact a team of lawyers, im not letting them gett away with lying like this.Business Response
