I got a loan through Maxlend in a moment of desperate financial struggle. I have been paying them $195 twice per month since Oct, which has made my financial situation worse. Its caused me significant stress and worry constantly. I have paid $1755 on a $725 loan. Paying twice as much as the original loan is more than sufficient. I feel like Maxlend is a predatory lender who preys on people who are already struggling and make the ************* worse.

I took a loan from Maxlend originally understanding that I would be paying down the principal based on terms that would not have me paying an outrageous amount of interest. It was based on the payment information that I understood though it was a high interest loan, the principal had more applied to it than most other loans of this nature due to the explanation and understanding of the terms provided. At this time, hardly any of my payment is being applied to the loan and it is quite apparent that this lender is using deceptive and illegal practice to collect an extreme amount just in interest, which violates my right under Federal laws both of which cap the limitations of interest on loans. In this case, the company claiming tribal immunity is not applicable and does not support their right to charge this inordinate amount. Tribal immunity is only applicable to actual businesses which originate/ operate on tribal lands, and is wholly owned and operated by tribal representatives. Using this interpretation of tribal law is inapplicable to outbid state consumers and does not allow for them to ignore the applications of consumer protections offered for consumers and as limitations for lenders

Maxlend is a company, that offers emergency loans to people but does not adequately cover what the charges are nor do they go over the payment when you are closing the loan or the exact interest rates. They do not tell you that by the end of your loan you actually end up paying 3X the amount you borrowed nor that they charge you a 4% daily interest!! They keep people in debt and they deserve to be shut down as a legitimate business. AND on top of that they call you everyday to tell you that you are eligible to receive MORE money!! I am lucky I was able to pay off the loan I received from them before being charged 3X PLUS the $900 I borrowed ( I was paying 220 dollars every TWO weeks for months and still paid 975 for the pay off amount) For practicing such shady tactics and not adequately disclosing or go over the actual ramifications of this loan and taking advantage me for what I thought would be a good credit building opportunity. I would like a refund of what I paid them Especially considering the complete disregard for humanity in general and the irresponsible nature and practices of this company. I believe this company should not be allowed to practice such disgusting tactics and should receive some sort of strike or be shut down for what it is doing to society and to its customers who will no doubt be in debt and stay in debt for a VERY long time!

Maxlend is the company. I borrowed $300.These are the dates and amounts which was what I was instructed to do by girl on the phone initially.5/8/22 paid $86.05 6/15/22 paid $178.78 7/18/22 paid $178.80 Then she said Jan 2023 I make a payment of $178.78. But Aug 2022 they continues to take out $178 78 autopay. I called right away to see why. I had to stop payment by my bank. This is misrepresentation and I never agreed to that. I told that to Maxlend when I called, . Lately they are threatening a lawsuit to me. They should be reprimanded for misleading elders.

      Unresolved:
The business responded to the dispute but failed to make a good faith effort to resolve it.
      Answered:
The business addressed the issues within the complaint, but the consumer either a) did not accept the response, OR b) did not notify BBB as to their satisfaction.
      Unanswered:
The business failed to respond to the dispute.
      Unpursuable:
BBB is unable to locate the business.
This business is operating as a loan company with an APR of 610%. Twice now they have fooled me into thinking my payment was 150 and 190 dollars and then the payments the next month are 458 dollars a month. You have to look through three different emails to get to the contracts and find the payment schedule. They do not tell you the payment goes up the next month. There was just a settlement with a company just like this and the people won because they prey on desperate individuals who don't read the fine print first.

MaxLend, is a sovereign enterprise, an economic development arm and instrumentality of, and wholly owned and controlled by, the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation, a federally-recognized sovereign American Indian Tribe (the Tribe). This means that MaxLends loan products are provided by a sovereign government and the proceeds of our business fund governmental services for Tribe citizens. This also means that MaxLend is not subject to suit or service of process. Rather, MaxLend is regulated by the Tribe. If you do business with MaxLend, your potential forums for dispute resolution will be limited to those available under Tribal law and your loan agreement. As more specifically set forth in MaxLends contracts, these forums include an informal but affordable and efficient Tribal dispute resolution, or individual arbitration before a neutral arbitrator. Otherwise, MaxLend is not subject to suit or service of process. Nothing in this email is intended to waive or otherwise prejudice MaxLends entitlement to these protections. Neither MaxLend nor the Tribe has waived its sovereign immunity in connection with any claims relative to use of this email.
