They call me 10 times day on multiple different numbers leave multiple voicemails and I need it to stop. At this point it’s getting way out of hand. I called the company they’re trying to get money for and I don’t owe anything. I’m tired of being harassed on a daily basis.Business Response

Marcam Associates harasses me every day they call me numerous times a day, from different phone numbers everytime. I've reported spam and blocked all the numbers but it doesn't stop them.Business Response

Marcam - STOP CALLING ME!! I sent a request through your "contact us" section on your website a couple weeks ago asking you to stop calling me. If you say you did not get it then you need to fix that aspect of your website. "Richard" calls me incessantly, just about every single day!! I have the voice mails to prove it. It is harassment and annoying. Please respond to this to confirm I have been added to your DO NOT CALL list.

These guys will NOT STOP CALLING ME!! They call multiple times a day from numerous different numbers. I block them as they come in but an hour later their calling from another number. STOP CALLING ME IMMEDIATELY!! This is harassment.Business Response

In the past two years I've been harassed by Marcam Associates of Rochester, NH/Somersworth, NH. They are a bill collecting agency. Last year (I don't recall the date) they said I owed a debt but they wanted to confirm my mailing address first. I said I would not confirm anything unless they tell me who the debt they are collecting on their behalf. The woman calling on behalf of Marcam Associates (I did not get her name) said she could not give out that information "because it's similar to HIPPA regulations." I did not give out my information because I thought they were frauding me. Under federal law, debt collectors are supposed to tell you who they are collecting it for. Marcam Associates did not do that.
On July 27, 2022, I got another call from Marcam Associates. A woman named Kim of Marcam Associates left a message on my phone saying I needed to call them back. They did not explain why. They called from this number (**** ******** and I was told to call 1-800-638-1005, ext. 24. I did not call Marcam back and I blocked Marcam from calling me again.
I feel like they are harassing me and they are breaking the law by not telling me what the debt is for. I do not want to pay for anything I do not owe and I do not want Marcam to ruin my credit score over fraudulent debts.Business Response

Marcam Associates is bound to follow all Federal and state regulations. Due to HIPAA and FDCPA we need to confirm we are speaking to the correct person before releasing any information. The consumer refused to verify ID, therefor we cannot release any additional information due to FDCPA and HIPAA regulations. We are in fact following the law. I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: Can the BBB confirm that Marcam Associates cannot legally give out the debt information I allegedly owe unless I give them my personal information? I do not give out my information before I find out who they are collecting a debt on someone's behalf. DO NOT GO ON THE INFORMATION MARCAM ASSOCIATES GIVES YOU.
This is the law: A debt collector must tell you the name of the creditor, the amount owed, and that you can dispute the debt or seek verification of the debt. The CFPB's Debt Collection Rule clarifying certain provisions of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) became effective on November 30, 2021
