I bought a gift card from these scam artists for ******** for my Mom for Mothers Day Buy Order #*******- she finally tried using the gift card only to be embarrassed saying the gift card was not valid which had a supposed value of $57 - why are scam artists like this allowed to exist and rip off people??? I called the customer service rep and she said she would forward this to resolution - then I get an email like this:Please be advised that we have received this claim beyond our 45-day buyer protection period.CardCash is a gift card marketplace where millions of sellers can sell their unwanted, pre-owned gift cards at a discount. CardCash verifies the balance of the gift card at the time of the listing. Only a very small percentage of our cards have issues where the seller used the gift card or the merchant canceled the card after CardCash confirmed the balance. These percentages are kept very low due to our proprietary fraud technology and KYC measures CardCash has working behind the scenes.Buying from any marketplace involves the classical Risk vs. Reward decision. Consumers shopping at a marketplace can save up to 35% but may, at times, receive a gift card that is invalid or has a balance discrepancy. To protect you from unfortunate circumstances, we offer a 45-day buyer protection guarantee. CardCash encourages our customers to use the cards within that time period and, if an issue occurs, to immediately contact us.We also require that all claims be submitted to us within that 45-day period. This increases the probability of reaching the original seller and receiving a refund from him or her. In such situations, if CardCash cannot recoup the funds from the original seller, it will take the loss as part of its guarantee and issue a refund to you. For claims submitted beyond the 45 day period, CardCash will still attempt to request a refund from the original seller, but if unsuccessful, CardCash cannot absorb any additional liability and is very clear a

Thank you very much for reaching out to us.  CardCash's primary focus is to please our customers.

CardCash is a secondary gift card marketplace enabling consumers to buy, sell, and trade their pre-owned unwanted gift cards. Safeguarding and protecting our customers is our top priority. Therefore, CardCash offers consumers a 45 day buyer protection guarantee. This way they can feel secure to shop on the marketplace and take advantage of all the great savings. However, we can only extend this guarantee for customers who contact us within 45 days of their purchase. A limited guarantee period is very common on every marketplace in every sector. ***** for example, offers a 30 day buyer protection guarantee.

CardCash, is very clear about the guarantee time-frame and posts it prominently in numerous places on the website, includes and in the terms and conditions on the site which users accept prior to making a purchase.

Nonetheless, as a onetime courtesy we will refund you.  Please be advised of this exception and of our general policy.

We hope you will continue shopping on our marketplace and take advantage of all the great savings

Sold roughly half a dozen cards to CardCash with no issues. Months after my sale got one phone call asking how I sourced the gift card I sold. It was bought at the retailer, the numbers were punched into the CardCash system and once I recorded confirmation the card was destroyed. The associate told me that sounded good and that they would call me back with any further issues.Months after, with no communication, I suddenly got a bill for $432 and am now being threatened to be put in collections. There is no possibility the card was used on my end as it was bought, sold to CardCash, then promptly destroyed. I'm essentially being accused of stealing by their lackluster collections team and nobody is willing to look into any other options (data breach, etc.). I'm being backed into a corner and nobody at the company is doing anything aside from treating me like a thief. Truly beware doing any business with this company.

We take great effort to ensure the validity of all claims at CardCash.com utilizing multiple data points to guide the process. In this instance our initial findings supported refunding the purchase to our buyer and the resulting liability for the seller of the card. In light of *************************** concerns, we have revisited this claim and have sent it out for an additional review. Once the review has been completed, we will make a final decision on this liability. We will notify the customer within 10 business days of the outcome.

I went to the CardCash website to sell some old gift cards I had purchased back in 2017 and never used. I was given an offer and accepted even though it was for like 60% of the total value. After days of waiting for payment I emailed customer service and when I finally got a response was told the system flagged me for fraud. If they would have actually took the time or effort to check my cards they could have easily seen they were good cards. Anyways I called there 800 number today which is on the bottom of all there emails to find out the number isn't even there's, its for another company which told me they get hundreds of calls from other CardCash customers. So I guess who's trying to fraud who....I will continue checking my gift card balances because I won't be surprised if they end up with a zero balance.

We apologize but your order was flagged by our automated fraud system and as a result, has been canceled.

Unfortunately, there is a lot a lot of fraudulent activity in the secondary gift card market and we, therefore, must take extra precautions to avoid any issues. Any order that is flagged as high risk is immediately canceled.
The orders in question were flagged by our system and they cannot be processed. We apologize for the inconvenience

I provided Card Cash with multiple *****'s Deli Gift cards that I received as a gift. Card Cash verified the balance on the cards and I mailed them the cards. They received the cards on 6/3/2022 and paid me $153 which I received. Now on 8/16/2022 they are reaching out to me and saying the cards don't have any money on them and that I have to pay them $153 or they are going to go to credit bureau. I never used the cards and after reading countless negative reviews online, have no way of knowing that someone with the company didn't use the cards or some other fraudulent activity.

I sold 3 Best Buy giftcards each in the amount of $500 each to CardCash.com in order to receive cash in exchange on May 5th 2022. I received the money and spent it on medical bills. On June 21st I was contacted by an associate named *****, from the loss prevention department by email and was asked to call her. When I spoke to her, she told me that I owed $850 to the company due to the giftcards being spent before someone from the CardCash website could use them, so I was responsible for that amount. I have NOT spent the cards in any way, I would not jeopardize my financial situation for something like this. I received a letter in the mail a few weeks ago stating the same information and I called and spoke to a representative, who was unable to provide any information but said she would talk to ***** for me, who would call me back with an update. I have heard absolutely nothing else from them other than the initial phone call back in June, with no new information on the investigation. I then received a call today that the amount has been sent to collections, which I should NOT owe as I was not the one who spent the money. They have done nothing to research this issue and try and resolve it. I did NOT spend the giftcards, I can prove this with my purchase history on my Best Buy account. I work for Best Buy, I would not do something like this to harm my employment or my current financial situation. I am very upset with the lack of research and communication on their part. I would like CardCash to remove the collections as it is not my fault and I absolutely do NOT owe that money.

Hi, I reached out to our claims department to do further investigation into this claims.
As well as our collections team reached out to the collection agent we work with and had them put your account on hold.
They will not pursue the balance unless we tell them otherwise. The merchant advised our team that they need a receipt to release more information, it seems like the cards were devalued by the merchant ****, before our buyer received the card.
If you could please reach out to the merchant directly as the original owner of these cards.
They will be able to provide you with all the information and possibly reinstate the balance.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am still in possession of all 3 giftcards I exchanged. I will get into the contact with the merchant, I just need to which card(s) were affected so I may discuss and receive the relevant information. I will accept response once the issue has been completely resolved.
      Thank you for your response.
