First off I want to say this is a complaint about online retailer, Bare Necessities, which I believe operates under this name in NJ.
I had returned an order I received from this company via mail in September 2024. 1-2 weeks later, I realized I never received an email noting my refund nor did I see a refund to my credit card.
I proceeded to spend the last 2 months calling Bare Necessities customer support weekly asking for the status of my refund and told it was coming and I would get a confirmation email that I never received.
Today, November 26th I called once again to try to get my refund and was told that the system that processes refunds is down indefinitely. There’s no guarantee it will be working again, and no eta on when it would be done if it ever is.
They gave me an option to receive a gift card which I declined as I want my money refunded to the original payment method and don’t want to shop here again. They also offered a check but was told it could take weeks and they cannot send any kind of confirmation it would be coming which i declined as why would I believe they would actually send a check?
I left the call saying I would call next week to see if they have their system to refund up and running, but I am very doubtful they are able to return their customers money for returns.
I find this very troubling, the fact that consumers will continue to place orders here while they are operating this way (illegaly!)
At this point, I have to assume I wil never receive my money back for the items that I returned.Initial Complaint

I ordered from this business on September 15, 2024. Their products (bras) came in unsatisfactory condition, and in damaged packaging. I contacted them regarding a refund and was issued a PARTIAL refund for two missing items, and was told I would receive the rest upon receipt of my returns. Post office tracking confirmed they received it on Sept. 30th. I have emailed regarding my refund on October 8th, 27th, and Nov. 8th, 2024 and have still not been refunded my $97.20. I placed this order on September 23, 2024. I received two order numbers. First one is Order#*******. The second one is Order#**********. The second order is what I had to give to customer service when I called the company. I paid $52.31 for the item. I received it on October 1, 2024. It didn't fit, and I did a return as instructed in their return policy on October 4, 2024, they received the merchandise on October 7, 2024. I received an email confirming that the warehouse had indeed received it. Their policy states to allow 14 business days, which I did. At this time, I emailed them stating that I had not received my refund and failure to take care of this matter would result in me contacting the BBB and Yelp. After not responding to my email, I called the customer service phone number on October 21, 2024 and was told that it would be issued on Friday, October 25, 2024. Again, no refund. I called again on October 29, 2024 and was told that they was having refund issues but that the refund was being done on October 31, 2024. I never received the refund. I used After Pay to purchase and they never notified them that I had returned the product. I had to pay the last two payments to After Pay, so Bare Necessities owes me the full amount that I paid. When I placed the order, the number was *******, the return has order# *********. Also when I ordered the email I received said the amount was $52.31 but the on the return email I received the amount of refund is saying $38.41.Initial Complaint

I made several purchases from this website. The first order I returned and the return was received by the company on October 4th. After nearly a month of not receiving the refund to my credit card, and contacting the company several times, only to be continually told that my refund will just be a little longer than expected, I filled a fraud claim with my bank (around Oct. 30th) regarding the matter. My bank has put a previsional credit on my account and is investigating the situation.
However, I had placed two other orders with the company, which I returned on Oct. 26th and 27th, and I am concerned I will not receive my refund for these orders, either. I want my refunds, so that I don’t have to file two more fraud complaints with my bank.Initial Complaint

I purchased 1 item from their website www.barenecessities.com on September 26. The charge for $59.95 was processed through my bank on September 27. The item did not fit so I initiated a return on 10/2. I received an email that they received the returned item on 10/8 and that they would "refund you immediately after we process your return". The return was indicated at $53 as they took out a $6.95 shipping fee. I completed their online contact form on 10/22 and received a response on 10/23 indicating "Your return package was delivered to our warehouse on October 8th it will be processed in the order it was received. Return processing generally takes up to 14 business days to complete after delivery. A refund will be issued shortly; you will be sent a confirmation email at that time." I followed up again on 11/5 as the 14 day window identified had passed. I received a same day response indicating "I am happy to inform you that your order has been set as priority and you should be refunded by end of week." It is now Tuesday of the following week and I still have not received my refund. I am now attempting to dispute the charge through my bank.Initial Complaint

I Placed an order with this company on 9/12/24 for 4 items. I returned 2 items for a refund totaling about $70, using their RMA #******* and their prepaid label with ****. The items were received in their warehouse on 9/22/24. I called to follow up on my refund on 10/4/24 and was told it would take 3-7 business to process the refund. I have called 2wks later and told due to their new system they are backlogged and that they it should be processed this week. I've called every week from 10/18/24 for status on my refund and each time I am told it has been escalated and I should received a confirmation of refund email that day and within 3-5 bus. days I should see my refund. Om 10/25/24 I spoke with a supervisor who told me it was manually processed the night before and she had the printout in her hand and I should see the refund in 3-5 days and already have the confirmation email. Well to date, 11/5/24 none of that has happened and I would like my refund as they have their merchandise as they have acknowledged and therefore I should ne made whole.Initial Complaint

I placed two orders with the business on 09/12/2024. I received both orders on 09/22/2024 but they were not what I was expecting and returned them the next day, unused and in original packaging. I used my own shipping method to return them, and have shipping and delivery confirmation. It has now been over a month since the original items were received and I still have not been refunded. I have spoke on the phone to multiple agents and they say my refund will be processed in the following week. But this just keeps continuing. They are now trying to say they did not receive my return. This is my tracking number for the return. There are two separate orders in the return, and both of them have separate packing slips with each order.

1st order: **********. Returned the Elan bra ($74) with request for credit— as wished to get a different size. Did NOT receive a credit or refund, no acknowledgement of return, despite repeated attempts to contact customer service. I am a longtime customer and this is absolutely unethical!
2nd order: **********. Returned Clara bra, same request for store credit. Same issue as other order, did not receive credit or refund, no acknowledgement of the return, nothing. Silence from email customer service and hung up on via phone when I did get through.Initial Complaint

I ordered 3 items on 9/8 which did not fit. I returned the items, and **** tracking shows that it was received to their facility on 9/27.
I have reached out 4 times because I still have not received a refund. They just keep saying it's "delayed." It's now been a month and still no refund, no legitimate reason why, and I have filed a complaint with ****** but that has not been resolved because they are not responding.
