  We became unwilling customers at Cenlar when Citibank sold off our HELOC debt to Cenlar. If this should ever happen to you, refinance and run. They have been obtuse and asinine to the point of abuse. Their demands have been circuitous and useless. I have written letters and spent hours on the phone. I paid the debt off as fast as I could. Months later I am still dealing with their red tape. **************One star is overstated

  Horrible customer service. Fake notices of cancelled insurance, ignore repeated verification of insurance from insurance company. They take out a policy without permission, never refunded that fraudulent amount.Seems any reasonable review of their practices would result not only in loss of license to engage in this industry, but possible criminal charges.

  This is the worst company that we should all avoid if possible. Because of their bad customer service, we did payoff statement twice and paid P/O preparation twice. I was promised to get a refund for the second fee. However, they do not want to keep the promise when we paid off the mortgage. The associate who prepared my first payoff statement knew that the auto-drafting could not be stopped and the payoff statement would have to be redone next month anyway but she didn't care because the loss to their customers meant nothing to her.

  This is one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with. I have been on phone 3 times about my payoff and no one can get me a correct amount and I just keep getting transferred to more people who dont know either. There is a disapperance of $8000 to my mortgage principal that no one can account for and I am just made to deal with it. Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.

  UNPROFESSIONAL at it's best Called customer service - INCOMPETENCE AND RUDENESS at it's best Requested that a statement be sent to my address - never received in spite of constant callings and reminders

  Less than one star. Refinanced home and paid off Venlar. Proof of payoff and official docs requesting Heloc account be closed. Cenlar ignored the request, waited several months and then sent a "refund" check for overpayment. The alleged overpayment was the fee paid to close the account. The just willfully ignored the request and refu ded us the payment. They appear to be malicious and shady lenders rather than inept or stupid. They do everything they can to keep borrowers on the hook. Please investigate them!

  I called their unprofessional customer service department today and to no surprise, they were absolutely useless. I have a confirmation that I cancelled a payment I made that is now pending from my bank account and they cant do anything about. The first woman I spoke to, ********, couldnt even clearly communicated what transactions were drafted from my account. She was flustered and put me on hold twice and couldnt give me any resolution to my problem. Their solution was for me to call my bank, however, the pending charge is from them and they cant remove it. I was told all I could do was dispute with my bank whos not at fault. I despise this mortgage company and wish my loan would have never been bought out by them.

  Sold my home 8 months ago and and Cenlar received an overpayment. I was never informed by this company there would be a refund check issued so I reached out myself, gathered all required documentation needed and faxed in as requested. I have had several go arounds regarding this issue of the company not wanting to submit the refund, being told on different occasions it had been mailed when in fact it was never looked into. Every time I speak to a representative and advise them of the situation they state a case will be opened and the check issued. I highly advise you look elsewhere when searching for good lenders.

  If i could give this *************** a 0, I would have. They are so inept at what they are suppose to do. I have literally contacted them, sent them paperwork and still everytime I call to get some answers they didn't receive the paperwork, even though the previous day that I called they had. My father passed away in Sept, 2020, and Cenlar has made the process for his house a total absolute nghtmare. This company seriously needs to be investigated for stupidityand how it screws people over. Almost 2 years to get a mortgage settled, paid off and done with, and yet every other day I receive paperwork about remodifiy the mortgage when they have been sent paperwork to pay it off in full. Do not use this company they are a total train wreck
