  Jackson Hewitt sent me a solicitation email to obtain my tax preparation business. It offered 50 percent off my tax prep. I am retired and itemize but my tax prep is relatively simple I took them up on their offer. When tax prep was complete the 50 percent off bill was higher than what I paid H and R Block last year and with no discount. What a ripoff. Wont use them again !

  We had moved to ******* in the middle of the year. So we had to file in 2 states. I googled they did both states. It also said starting at $25 and get 50% off. So im thinking ok my homw state charges me $170.00 so shoukdnt be more than $200 adding an extra state tax. I must say I was shocked when she told me $700.00 bucks and they dont do 50% the most they can take off is $200.00. So not only do i have to pay in For my taxes, I had to dish out $400 extra dollars. This is false information and on top of it they could only efile one state and make you mail your own info and send payment yourself. Why does one pay so much to have to do it all yourself. Very discusted..

  scheduled an appointment, showed up, and the door was locked. Waited a bit, called customer **********************, who told me they took a personal day without telling me or rescheduling. They helped me make another appointment. The day before, I get a message saying my appointment was rescheduled to a random time, that I did not choose. Having my appointments cancelled and rescheduled without contacting me first is infuriating. I will never attempt to do business with them again

  DO NOT GO TO JACKSON HEWITT!!! $550+ for less than 30 minutes to file daughter's simple return with no advance! Two W2's (1 from the military with no tax liability), and one ****-*** for a brief part time work from home job while she was pregnant. This was the amount after getting a $200 discount so it would have cost $750+. She was expecting $60-$150 based on the web site. She asked them to do her city taxes and they told her they didn't know how from *******************, her preparer. She wasn't even told the amount until after filing and was told it was too late to cancel. She called the preparer and also the local corporate office to complain and ask for a refund and they basically said too bad you had a **** form and it was already filled. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!

  I was with a friend who had her 2022 income taxes prepared by **** at the ****** Jackson Hewitt tax service. They were ridiculously expensive with all their add on fees, without explaining what the fees were for or giving her a chance to decline added fees. Like a $98.00 fee for fronting her the money of her return And taking their preparation cost out of her refund, when she was fine with waiting for the refund and paying their cost up front. When we asked to refund those fees, we were told that they already processed it. After pressing for them to refund, since they did not give her the option, they said that they would have to refund by check that would take 5 weeks. That was the only option. That was February 9th. Today is March 21st. Still no check. A week ago we stopped by the office and we were told by ****, that she would have to call her manager, but would call my friend back with details about the check. No check no call. Total bill was $614.95 for a very basic fiing, both federal and state.

  ******* in **** is supposed to be a manager is the rudest, most condescending, person I have ever had the displeasure of talking on the phone to. I got transferred to her after they forgot to file my state taxes for two months. If you are in **** I would go to a meth head behind a ******* before going to them.

  Why didn't I read these reviews before I paid Jackson Hewitt $3199. It was the worst decision I have ever made. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS no matter what! Horrible customer **********************, I would wait sometimes weeks to get an answer to an email. I have to do redo every return they did for me already had to meet the State IRS and meeting with the Federal IRS in two weeks because of the mistake JH made...total disaster....nightmare.....ZERO STARS SHOULD BE AN OPTION

  I switched from H&R block to see if they were better or cheaper since they had a half off coupon. However, they were not cheaper even with the half off coupon and the tax preparer was not very knowledgeable. There original price was twice that of H&R block and I had less paperwork than last year's taxes. I would not recommend anybody use them ever!

  I went to JH in ********* ********* ******************. My taxes was prepared by Ms.***** ,she was great very helpful I'm am grateful that I went there I couldn't have had a better agent she was very very helpful she prepared my wife's as well great experience I plan too keep in touch and return back to JH next tax season. Thank you Ms.***** you were great.
