      My older refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. It was easy to make a claim and the response is very fast. The problem was the amount of reimbursement, only $250 for a damaged compressor. This is very low compared to other warranty companies I've used. They will only give me the money after I replace or repair the unit. I expect them to pay the repair company directly as other companies have done. I'm very disappointed.

      Company: Select Home Warranty( PH ******************)________________________________________Summary of the Complaint:Select Home Warranty engaged in deceptive sales practices and systematically denied or underpaid legitimate claims, contradicting the assurances given at the time of policy purchase.When I signed up in July 2021, their sales representative promised comprehensive coverage, stating that major systems and appliancesincluding the roofwould be repaired or replaced without substantial out-of-pocket costs. Based on these promises, paid for 6-year policy.However, nearly every claim I made has been denied on technicalities or reimbursed at a fraction of actual costs, with coverage exclusions that were either not disclosed upfront or buried in fine print. Examples include:________________________________Claim History and Issues:1.Garage Door Spring Denied| Date: Feb 3, 2025 oSprings declared not covered due to policy exclusion (Section 6.3.7), despite being a critical component of the garage system.2.Refrigerator Underpaid Date: Dec 2, 2022 oActual replacement cost ~$3,000; reimbursed only $225.4.Dishwasher Underpaid oActual cost ~$1,300; reimbursed $250 after over 3 months back and **************** Leak Emergency Response ********************** Date: FebMar 2022 ***** reported as emergency; service delayed for 5 days, causing more water damage. Only $300 reimbursed; I paid $1,200+ for pipe repair, drywall replacement, and repainting.6.Bathroom Hot/Cold Mixer Denied Technician stated issue not covered after service fee paid.Refund Request Denied Unfairly:When I realized the pattern of denial and requested a policy cancellation in late 2022, Select calculated deductions and offered only ~$300 back despite only 1.5 years having passed in a 6-year policy.Deceptive business practices

      On Tuesday 10 JUN 2025, your technician ***** from Forbidden Fruits Heating and Air conditioning came out to evaluate our Central **** system for not cooling. What he found was the the Compressor was not working properly. On Friday 13 JUN 2025, **** ******* from ******* Mechanical Contracting came out to validate that the **** System was NOT leaking any coolant. I have attached the invoice and report AGAIN. ******** and ******** also came out to evaluate our system and they too did not find any evidence of Freon leaks. I will have them out again on Monday 23 JUN 2025 to do the same thing, PROVING again that the mechanical failure of the compressor was NOT caused by a Freon leak.I continue to be dissatisfied with your service because you refuse to acknowledge the mechanical failure of the Air Conditioning Compressor. Instead, you continue to push the lie that there is a coolant leak. I have already attempted to resolve this problem by filing the initial claim, numerous follow up emails and phone calls. On one all I was on the phone listening to your technician tell you that the failure of the **** compressor was NOT caused by a Freon leak. AND YET YOU STILL CONTINUE TO PUSH THE FALSE NARRATIVE OF A LEAK THAT DOES NOT EXIST. Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved. I am hereby requesting that you: Replace the faulty Air Conditioning Compressor If the compressor can not be replaced, then the whole system will need to be replaced with a comparable or better unit using industry best practices.Other corrective actions have been taken!!!

      Very scammy company with agents who are overseas. They declined coverage on multiple claims:* Water Heater claim denied: They said they don't cover if it leaks or breaks down.* Air Conditioner claim denied: They didn't cover replacing a capacitor and contactor and came up with an excuse that it's an electrical claim.* Refrigerator claim denied: Compressor went out and they said the access the replacement cost of the fridge itself is less than $200 and that's the max they would pay out. This is a Sub-zero fridge that costs *****s of dollars.Several contractors that came to repair our equipment also mentioned that they are scammy and have been declining 80-90% of claims.

      Do not purchase a policy from this company. I purchased in good faith two years ago, paid extra for a 3 year contract. I attempted to use the service for two claims and they found ways to give me the runaround and not service my kitchen hood. I was told I need to disassemble it and then ask for service. I have subsequently tried to cancel my policy and have been waiting since May 5th 2025 for my refund. I have made several attempts via emails, phone calls to their call center to find out where my refund is and when can I expect this. All calls and communication have led to further frustration and dissatisfaction. I have tried to escalate my calls and even written to ***** ******, Director of ***************** no adequate or even helpful response. Like others in review, I would give them an even lower number if one existed. Definitely a "F" rated organization in my book. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase anything from them, you will regret it.

      All in all, it sucked! Bought the warranty late last year, and I have your so called "Platinum Plan", and a remember clearly asking your sales *** if the Ice Maker in the Refrigerator was covered, and he ***lied it was. The ice maker is the only thing we have ever had a problem with, on that now 34 year old ***** refrigerator. When I called in the claim Monday June 16th, 2025 I was greeted by a very poorly constructed robot. I gave it all the information it asked for, and the robot informed me that someone would call me back with in 48 hours! Well a guy did call back right later that day, when I was making dinner that evening> I told the guy this would be a fast call. I gave him all the information again that I given your robot; and as soon as I come to the issue is with the Ice Maker, he stated it is not covered. He then tells me that "coverage" would be an additional $138, and I told he to add it to the warranty, and to call me back if there was any issues. No one called back until the next day (Tuesday June 17th), when a guy called to set up the house call. He never mentioned the Ice Maker issue, so I assumed it was all taken care of. Mr. ****** called later that day, and set up the call for Friday June 20th. Not too happy for the four day wait, what would have been the results if the refrigerator was totally out?OK the tech arrives and quickly confirms the Ice Maker's water valve has burned out, and needs ***lacement. He calls to get approval, that takes for ever (like the better part of an hour!). Then he is informed by your agent "the water valve is not covered". What kind of a sick joke is that? If that decision stands, I want my added coverage payment in the amount of $138 refunded immediately!
