      I paid $1200 for a 3 year home warranty in full & haven't gotten what I paid for. My garbage disposal claim I had to buy the part & pay a contractor to install it. It took a month to get my reimbursement check. My dishwasher claim took a month for them to get a contractor out to fix it and I ended up with mold. Now I have a furnace claim that's still not handled & it's been 3 weeks now. They are trying to get me to pay for the part & reimburse me again. I paid for the warranty to eliminate having to do all that. All I should be responsible for is the service fee. I definitely don't recommend anyone to choose Select Home Warranty.

      These mfs are a joke! My furnace went down during one of the worse winter storms, I went a month without proper heat while they find a technician after me calling so many times, they emailed me & told me I could find my own under certain guidelines - I followed every guideline, called and made sure multiple times - told me I was authorized to have the technician work on my furnace once they spoke to him about what he found! I then was told to submit my receipt of what I paid with a picture of the furnace. I did just that! Now Im being told because I didnt have proper authorization they wont reimburse me. After calling and asking what the proper authorization was - they said they were suppose to send me an email stating I was authorized to have the work done. They SENT THE ***** THAT DAY & are still saying they didnt authorize it! Its a scam dont do it!

      Select Home Warranty is NOT a reputable company. We selected them based on local reviews and research however our experience has been the worst in our history of home warranty's. In addition to summarily denying claims (despite in one case hiring a third party who said the claim should be covered), today they told my wife that she could not speak to a supervisor. The overall customer service has been horrible, the promise of coverage non-existent, and the overall experience poor. We will NEVER use or recommend the terrible company again.

      Select Home Warranty is a BIG SCAM. Very upset with this group. It seems to me, now that I have to use them, that they just want your money up front to join and then when you need them, they want you to do all the leg work and pay out of your pockets to get your own technician to fix whatever, (my furnace) and then do paperwork to get reimbursed. NOPE! I don't think so! I am not taking the chance on that situation to be all discombobulated. That is their job to get the technician. Not mine. I have been waiting 3 days thus far and still waiting now as I type this. The rep we talked to said they contacted 15 technicians and none of them would cover their warranty for **. We are going to cancel and have our credit card dispute the annual fee we were charged when signing up. Home buyers beware of Select Home Warranty. They don't deserve 1 star. They deserve NO STARS! When trying to talk to representatives on the telephone, I can't understand them, they don't speak fluent English at all. What a pain.

      I had an HVAC company come out to inspect the heater and determine the cause of the carbon monoxide leak is due to a cracked heat exchange. As well as they sent out two different companies to evaluate the Heater and their report indicated the Heater needed replacing.
      The heater is turned off because something failed, broke, or wore-out. The damage to the heating system is not a hazard, and there is no hazard as long as the heater remains off.
      I purchased the home warranty because it covers service, repair, or replacement of your major home appliances and systems, including the heating system. PG&E came out to my home and has abated the hazard by turning off the heater before contacting Select Home Warranty. I am requesting Select Home Warranty to replace the heater.
      Please note I have requested a copy of my policy on 4 different occasion and as of today I still have not received a copy. I have also requested to speak with a supervisor on Jan 9, 2023, and the Customer Service Rep Daniel, again on Feb 1, 2023, spoke with Quinta and again on Feb 3, 2023, Paul Johnson and each of them refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor as well as refused to even give me the name of a supervisor. This is poor Customer Service. I have also requested to discontinue my contract and they have continued to take monthly payments from my account. This is the worse customer service I have ever experienced.

      DO NOT BUY THEIR HOME WARRANTY POLICY!Worthless home warranty as they seem to only cover parts. Just had my clothes washer breakdown - it was the drain pump gone bad. SHW will only cover for the drain pump and not for the installation. Evidently, their policy section 8iii which talks about replacement of the appliance where it's not repairable, they consider new replacement part to fall under this category too. Basically everything that you need fixed with new parts, you will have to pay for installation (labor) fee on your own. I've asked to cancel the policy and now they're charging me $75 cancellation fee. ****** learned and am so glad I am done with this Company.

      This pretends to be overall comprehensive coverage at a very low price. I covers hardly anything. I would have saved money by not having this policy and paying out of pocket. READ the exclusions. They list most of the common items that could go wrong and they are really good at denying your claims.

      RIP OFF!They have every excuse not to honor a claim. Even after you request to cancel they find an excuse not to and keep charging you. Then they want to charge you to cancel the account. They are all about getting your money and giving you NOTHING! STAY AWAY FROM THIS RIP OFF!

      Absolute nightmare. Wouldn't cover anything. My furnace went out when it was 20 below zero and i was told I needed to wait 2 weeks for authorization. I complained and they authorized me to have a tech come out but then told them to call before making repairs. Authorized the repair bit said I wasn't eligible for compensation and wasn't given a reason. I also didn't get an email they claimed they sent saying they needed maintenance records. I called to cancel and the next month they charged me. I called and they said they had no record of my request to cancel and wouldn't refund my account. I canceled for a second time and they said they had to charge me $75 which I told them I don't authorize. I called my back to put a stop payment on that company. Lastly don't expect to understand a word they say. The only English speaking people are the sales people. Also the only ones that answer right away. I'm still trying to get the $50 they charged my account after I canceled the first time.

      I concur with ****** W and all these other unsatisfactory reviews! I have never in my life felt so ripped off by a company that on other sites have 4and 5 star reviews. This company has done NOTHING but take my money!!!! I have holes left in my ceilings where theyve had contract companies come out and not do the work. After countless hours and attempts to het these issues resolved . I demanded cancellation of my policy. While staying on the phone and moved from rep to rep I was told I would have to pay an additional ***** to have the policy cancelled. I have yet to receive a confirmation email that my policy has been cancelled. I have asked to speak with a supervisor and denied. I now have to put in a dispute with my bank because they have taken an unspecified amount from my acct and cannot justify why it was taken. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not ise this company. FRAUD and UNETHICAL practices at its best.
