  I put in a claim on a microwave and received an email stating they would provide a settlement equal to "retail minus deductible" and offered $95.00. I have this in an email confirming from yesterday, 1-23-23. (my deductible is $60.00). I told them my cost was around $350 so $95.00 settlement they are offering is not correct and does not match what i was sold and what i was emailed yesterday. The supervisor in customer service confirmed "retail cost minus deductible" as shown on the email and confirmed this in writing yesterday is not the way it really works. he said they will only give a settlement of $95.00 regardless of the cost of the unit, the age of the unit. The supervisor said the sales people sell the plans and then they in his department have to tell the customers how it actually works. I expect this company to honor the "retail minus my deductible as stated in writing on my email.

  They have figured out the art of making you go in circles and won't do anything to help you.20 days since complain and they can't even send a technician. Keep asking me to hire my own technician (do their job since they can't do it). That is not why I bought home warranty). Every time I call there is a different person reading the same script of apologies and will try to do something, but in the end giving same excuse. Looking at the other complaints below as well I am not sure how BBB or someone else can help consumers from such organizations.

  Select home warranty's customer service is the worst. Their phone agents are one of the worst possible. They really dont understand english and get on your nerves. I have lost so much money by having trust in select home warranty. I was left with out a dryer for weeks waiting for their technician. and when he came in he charged me money for the repair. Select home warranty wouldnt reimburse me even though I had proof of maintenence for the dryer. Now our HVAC heater is broke and we are in the cold for days. A technician was sent just couple of weeks back and he charged me $185. It broke again in 3 weeks. Now I have to pay another $60 for the service call for just someone to come and look at it ! Some of those idiots on the phone even have the nerve to say that my product is not covered under the warranty !! I am fed up with this company and will ask all my friends and family to cancel their contracts

  APPLIANCE INSURANCE FRAUD! We got this policy to protect our appliances, A/C units, and pool pump. When we filed a claim for our A/C unit, we paid for a technician to assess the A/C and send them the estimate. We had never had an issue, but now, because we did not have "maintenance records" (who has that for an A/C unit?) they would only pay $150 on a $650 estimate...if that isn't fraud after collecting $700 on the annual premium, I do not know what is.Will also file a complaint with the ***** insurance commission as well. DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDSTERS AND CHARLATANS!

  Terrible experience with SHW. Took days to get a repair even scheduled, wouldn't cover a part (or the labor to install it) because the part was under warranty. My policy did not specifically say warranteed parts were not covered. Back and forth via email, asking me to call them back, took forever. Finally they agreed to give me $150 back on a $600 repair "as a courtesy." They look for the slightest loophole. They work to NOT cover claims. My son had a terrible experience trying to get a water heater replaced also. I'm just sick that I gave them any money at all and will never use them again.

  Not worth rating. My heater went out 12/17/22, been fighting with them since. They saying
  freon was the problem, THE HEATER DOES NOT USE FREON, dumb butts. Call the company, no one answers set up call back, no call back. Even Joyce, supposedly supervisor, does not call back. If u r lucky enough to talk to someone, cannot understand them, all foreign. Would NOT recommend this company for nothing. Mr. Joseph S, owner, should be totally embarrassed how this company treats customers!

  A complete nightmare to work with... in my first claim on garage door spring they said springs are not covered. Yet, when they were pitching me a plan the sales person mentioned costs of items like garage door repairs. Yet when a spring broke, they were not covered. ?? our Hot Water heater burned out, it cost close to $2k. On their website they talk about the average cost to replace a water heater runs around $1800. When I submitted my claim, it took 3X sending in the paperwork before someone found it. Now, they NEVER asked the the age of the one that died, but they paid only $225. They claimed that was all they needed to pay after depreciation. WHAT THE... So, now I'm trying to cancel the policy, (a 3year version) that I was told I could cancel any time. So now they are making me jump thru hoops to get out. DON'T walk away from this company... RUN

  I wish I could give less than 1 star. I PAID for the additional roof leak coverage, knowing I was buying an older home. After a huge rain storm in November, we noticed water damage to the ceiling in our guest room. I filed a claim and was told they couldn't find anyone, so I needed to find someone on my own. I finally find someone willing to do a free estimate, and submit it to the claim. I get an email back that they ONLY cover the leak and will not cover the damaged shingles or chimney and so my claim was denied. They wouldn't even discuss covering part of the leak since I PAID FOR ROOF LEAK AND IT WAS A ROOF LEAK. I just called to cancel the rest of my service, and they are taking $75 from the prorated amount they owe me for a cancellation fee. This company is a FRAUD.

  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. They will deny your claim for any and everything!!! When I tried to cancel services they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee, after they had JUST deducted my monthly fees. Terrible customer service, nobody speaks english and they do not care at all that they are s******* their customers left and right. HEED ALL THE WARNING!! I wish I had looked them up on here before hand and seen all these complaints!

  Complete scam company. I wish I had read these reviews before wasting so much money. Who ever heard of a business that charges you when you no longer need them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY> They need to be shut down permanently! I would leave 0 stars if I could.
