      On July first my ac stopped working !!! I called SHW to report it !!! SHW agave me clain# ( 02230481 ) , the next day the service company called and made a appointment for the 3rd of July !!! The service company came and inspected the ac equipment, and said the compressor was bad !!!! Service man explained my two options!!! He stated if I waited on SHW that it may be as much as two weeks before they would make a decision to fix it or ???? ( I am 81 years old — 100 % disabled and have a lung problem and use oxygen machine!!!! Me and service company decided to go ahead and install a new compressor and A coil !!!! The service company installed the new equipment on the 4th of July !!! The service company filled my claim on 5th of. July ,SHW put the claim on 48 hour review !!!! I paid the service company $4300.00 , sent copy to SHW ,so far SHW has not refunded me the $4300.00 !!! When I took out warranty ac was covered ??? On April 26th I filled on ice maker no service company has been out yet !!!

      This is my experience and your mileage may very.

      This is the WORST company out out there. They don't pay the contractors and I have had 3 cancellation for service and waited over a week to get any resolution and now they are saying you go find someone to solve the problem.

      If I had to find someone on my own why do I need home warranty?

      My opinion is stay away from them you can do SO MUCH better with other companies. I feel they are fraud and considering filing a lawsuit. ( I smell a class action )

      I signed on with Select Home Warranty believing through my research they were the best offer in a home warranty service available. For $45 per month, if an appliance went out, they dispatched a repairman, you paid the repairman $80 up front, if the item could be repaired, Select Home Warranty paid for the repairs, or if an item needed replacing, Select Home Warranty replaced it, no questions asked. Such is not the case!!!! My dishwasher went out, I notified them, they dispatched a repairman, I paid him the $80, he looked at it and determined a replacement was in order. Select Home Warranty sent me an email advising they would send me a check in the amount of $175 only if I did one of two things: 1) Paid for the repairs out of pocket, regardless of the cost, sending them the invoice as proof, or 2) Purchased a new dishwasher, regardless of cost, sending them the invoice as proof. This is a clear breach of contract. Also, the cheapest new dishwasher costs $350, with parts, installation, and recycle of the old dishwasher, it jumps to $600. Clearly a scam company to be avoided!

      Don't ever choose this worst SELECT HOME WARRANTY. After paying them more than a thousand of dollars, they just reimburse me $100 for the garbage disposal. They will not even send a technician. They will pass the responsibility to the homeowner of the job that should be covered on the contract. Worst worst worst service ever!!!!!

      Multiple issues not covered....amazing!
      Dishwasher Door Spring
      Freezer not working > Resolution > door was open paid $75 > still broken
      Water Pressure Regulator Broken PSI 100......adjust to 55 to 60 > next day back to 100 PSI > Resolution Not Covered

      SCAM COMPANY THAT TAKES YOUR MONEY AND RUNS THEY TRY AND WAIT OUT THE POLICY SO IT ENDS ,.I'M A DISABLED VET THAT HAS BEEN IN A HOUSE THAT REACHES OVER 80 DEGREES THEY ALSO DONT TELL YOU A CORPORATE NUMBER OR LET YOU SPEAK TO ANYONE IN THE US WHERE I BOUGHT THE POLICY. THEY READ FROM SCRIPTS AND NO COMPANY WILL WORK WITH THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES HOPEFULLY THEY WILL BE INVESTIGATED BY 5THE ATTOIRNY GENERAL IN THE STATE

      I wish I could give 0 stars. This Company has no integrity or credibility. I followed their process and filed a claim when my AC went down. They sent one of their contracted technicians out and they repaired my unit. The Tech then called in the repair to SHW and they denied the claim stating they needed to get a second opinion. The tech said I could either pay him for the repair or he was going to put the failed parts back on my unit. It was 90 degrees in my house so I had no choice but to pay him and take it up with SHW. They said it was my mistake which was a lie. I filed the claim on line, they sent their Technician they contracted with and now they are refusing to pay. Select Home Warranty is one of the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with and will be canceling my subscriptions immediately.

      Several claims that have been denied for work that is covered under my warranty. Hours and hours on the phone and on hold having conversations where they end up agreeing that the issue is covered and that they will respond with a service provider, only to have no response from them for days. When I call again, I start all over again ... (1) not covered, (2) oh, you're right it is covered and we'll dispatch a service provider, (3) all silent for days, then start all over again. AC in Texas has been down for over a week and they are stalling and not providing the warranty that I paid for. Anyone interested in joining a class action suit?

      I filed a claim for my AC unit to be serviced. Since SHW could not find a contractor, I found one and the emailed and confirmed when I called twice that they will reimburse me with the money. They spoke to the technician for over 10 minutes and I asked them if ok to pay and will they reimburse me, they told me yes and as soon as the technician left my house, they told me no.
      This company is a droid and will try to find a way to not pay you. When I called to resolve the issue, horrible customer service and they hung up on my twice as they could not tell me what did I do wrong for the claim to not be reimbursed. After several attempts sand horrible service with their technicians pretending to be the supervisor…I decided to cancel my policy. Now I’m out of pocket $380 due to their false claim promise. I do not recommend select home warranty and their liars.
