      Several claims that have been denied for work that is covered under my warranty. Hours and hours on the phone and on hold having conversations where they end up agreeing that the issue is covered and that they will respond with a service provider, only to have no response from them for days. When I call again, I start all over again ... (1) not covered, (2) oh, you're right it is covered and we'll dispatch a service provider, (3) all silent for days, then start all over again. AC in Texas has been down for over a week and they are stalling and not providing the warranty that I paid for. Anyone interested in joining a class action suit?

      I filed a claim for my AC unit to be serviced. Since SHW could not find a contractor, I found one and the emailed and confirmed when I called twice that they will reimburse me with the money. They spoke to the technician for over 10 minutes and I asked them if ok to pay and will they reimburse me, they told me yes and as soon as the technician left my house, they told me no.
      This company is a droid and will try to find a way to not pay you. When I called to resolve the issue, horrible customer service and they hung up on my twice as they could not tell me what did I do wrong for the claim to not be reimbursed. After several attempts sand horrible service with their technicians pretending to be the supervisor…I decided to cancel my policy. Now I’m out of pocket $380 due to their false claim promise. I do not recommend select home warranty and their liars.

      Air conditioner went out on July 11th, 2022. We have had multiple days of 100+ degree's in a row. As of this complaint it is now July 27th and just today they said my claim has been escalated. We have made several calls, the contractor was out the next day. we were told 24-48 hours for review. Now they are asking for pictures of the unit and service records. But we have only owned the property for 1 year. It worked fine last year and up until July 11th this year. IF YOU ARE A REAL ESTATE AGENT AND YOU ARE OFFERING A HOME WARRANTY I WOULD FIND ANOTHER SOURCE. Averaging 1.58 stars out of over 1,550 reviews.

      This company is a joke. They will not pay for anything. They will find some subparagraph that does not exist to deny your claim. to top that off they do not contact you to let you know weather your claim was approved or not. And if it was approved they want you to pay for the part. They collect your money faithfully every month , pay for nothing and then charge you $75 to cancel.

      I had this home warranty policy for three years now and have never filed a claim. This summer my air conditioning went out and they have tried to give me every excuse under the sun while they would not fully pay for the repair. They put me through several hoops, one at pictures of my unit which I do not know how to open. They also want it repair or service records which I don’t have because the unit is about three years old and has never been serviced. They wanted me to prove that it was not under manufacturer warranty, I informed them that the builder warranty had since expired and that if I still had manufacture warranty available I would have never contacted select home warranty. The average cost of repairing air-conditioning units is about $350 on the low end. Select home warranty because I don’t have pictures to provide them and I don’t have repair or service invoices to provide them and can’t prove that it no longer has a manufactures warranty they would only give me $150 for the repair. At the cost of the repair in comparison to what I have paid in monthly premiums for three years to select home warranty, I could have paid for the repair myself three times and save that money in my pocket. It seems like they do everything they can to not pay for the service clearly outlined in the contract. They should not be in business! They are a scam!

      Where do I begin.
      I was comparing prices between 5 warranty companies. The landing page of Select Warranty where you have to type in your zip code to see if they service your area. Then an automated pop up form happens requesting your name and contact. Keep in mind, there is NO other option, you're almost "forced" to give this information if you want to get a quote.
      The phone number "is required" and normally I give a google number to avoid the drama that ensued, but this time I thought give my mobile thinking I was going to get an "instant" quote based on the information on the form. Instead, no sooner than I hit 'send' someone calls me I instantly explained that I'm just shopping. He was kind of 'bullying" and when I said I wasn't expecting a call he hung up before I could finish my statement.

      Within 3 hours, I get five more calls from random numbers where they'd call asking about giving a quote from this company and when I tell them the same they hang up. I also get an email. I respond telling the "Jerry" guy how rude the experience has been. And he does the same, calls, very forceful, and when I say I'm not interested in the warranty. He' asks, "so if we didn't call you would have bought the service". In my mind, I'm like you'll never know. I'm only taking the time to post how rude, bullying, aggressive these people are (and really I only think it was two people calling from different numbers because the voice tone and accent sounded similar. ) so the next warranty buyer doesn't get duped.

      Whatever happened to customer service? All the first person had to do was >>>"Apologies Miss, (insert brief explanation), we won't call again and will remove your name from our contact list<<< but instead, I get harassed for nearly three hours. If this is how they treat "potential" clients, I'd hate to see how they treat existing. With service like that, how do they even get clients to disappoint?

      Run the other way! Don't waste your money. The worst service ever! They sent 3 technicians out to diagnose my A/C problem. All 3 technicians advised I needed a compressor. They advised they would cover the compressor, but I have to pay for the refrigerant. After leading me on for 3 months without any A/C, they told me the service was not covered due to a freon leak, which none of 3 technicians advised. I guess that was their excuse to not cover the compressor. If that were the case, they should have told me that in March and not July.

      I put in a claim for my air conditioner system was not sure what was wrong but it wasn’t working properly. The customer service department took my information and in three days emailed me and said that the condition of my air conditioner was not cover. Remind you I am not a technician that is why I purchased the plan. They never asked me if I wanted someone to come out and look t it. They made a determination base on a woman that has no back ground in air conditioner. That was the most worst thing I ever heard of. My husband called them up and they said they based the information on the determination on what I said. Never sent anyone out to check. Select Home Warranty is terrible. Before then we called con er our furnace and they said they had to find someone in the area. Never found anyone. So this is happening We are going to drop them. They get no stars computer said I had to leave a star

      If no stars was an option that is what I would give them. Never received prompt service. Cancelled plan because of limited coverage. Have been waiting more than a month for a refund of prepaid fees if over $1500. Refused to send refund by direct deposit and said they would have to reissue the check. Very dissatisfied ex customer!

      SelectHome Wripoff!!! I bought a 2 year plan, and every claim (I only submitted 4) has been denied. My Asko dishwasher broke, and needed repair. They said based upon the value, they’d only approve $175; I would be required to pay the balance. If I decided to purchase a new dishwasher, they’d only approve $175 and I’d need to pay the balance. Who knows how they assessed the value!!! My central air conditioner needed repair, they refused to pay the repair. I had to pay $700 out of pocket. My lights flicker and needed an electrician. They couldn’t fine a tech. My garage door opener broke; they couldn’t find a technician. Why in the world I fell for the sales person’s pitch is beyond me. DON’T waste your money on this company. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Don’t go with them if you value your money and your home!!!!
