I received a pending charge from audible on my bank account, listing the last four numbers of my card, which I did not give them. It said that the charge was from ****** Audible. So, I called Amazon, who denied any knowledge of the charges and said that there was no charges visible on my account. I asked where it was made from and they said that I would have to ‘wait for it to post’. I called my bank, who said that this is happening to a lot of customers and agreed to take the charges off and issue me a new card. I asked where it originated from, as I would like to find out who had my information and again zero interest in getting to the bottom of it. Bottom line,, Audio is enrolling people who did not sign up, using bank card numbers from Amazon. No accountability from Amazon or Audible. This scam needs to be shut down now.

By categorizing your credits as a membership perk instead of a transactional item, amazon has found a way to trap users into continually billing. If you cancel your membership with credits on your account, you lose them since you never "paid for them" as they are a "membership perk". It is an unethical way to have users either keep their membership open while they catch up, or pause their membership billing in hopes to have the billing resume in 90days. The wording of this membership policy is a gotcha customer last policy that is not in alignment with transparent business practices.

Their customer service is inept. I have suspected that Audible was billing me twice, so I contacted them by phone. The representative told me that my old work email address was linked to the account she found. I told her that I had not worked in this position for 1-1/2 years and gave her my personal email address. After several attempts to get this through to her, she found a second account linked to this address. Both accounts had the same mailing address and phone numbers referenced. This rep said she had to disable one account in order to merge the two accounts. She proceeded to disable the account linked to my personal email address. When I told her that was incorrect, she put the remaining account linked to my old work email address on hold, leaving me with no accounts. She asked me for a spare email address, but I refused to muddy the waters further. This rep then said she was transferring me to another rep who would be able to assist me.This rep was even more confused. She said that I could not have an account linked to my personal account because there were two existing accounts associated with my personal email address, one disabled and one on hold. She repeated the request for a spare email address, and I again refused. I finally found out that both of the accounts were being billed via ACH bank charges. At this point I requested both accounts be closed, but was told this could not happen. I finally gave up.

I have been getting charged for AUDIBLE purchases for years. I didn't even know what it was. I have disputed them several times and was reimbursed, so I cancelled my card and got a new one, but the charges continued. It is incredibly difficult to find their phone number, so I tried to cancel my account. It said I don't have an account. How can I be charged when I don't even have an account? I finally found a number and ******* said someone else's account was linked to my Amazon payment info. I asked how to unlink it, but he said I can't because the other account was locked. How is it not ILLEGAL to make me pay for someone else's purchases and not have the ability to stop the charges. As it turns out, I'm being billed for Prime video purchases I did not make and a Prime video subscription I did not approve. I removed my credit card from my account, but now I can no longer make purchases unless I allow them to save another card. It looks as though I will have to cancel my subscription to AMAZON PRIME. It seems they are so big they are invincible.

They suck!!! No way to truly cancel your subscription. I have informed credit card companies to block any bills from them.

I have been a long standing AUDIBLE customer. I have used their service for years. Over the last several months Ive had issues with my service being cancelled, even after I tried to pay my monthly fees. It kicks back a week or so later saying yet again, it been cancelled. I checked with my bank, there is NO ISSUES with my card. I have funds in my account. And yet AmazonApple whomever is taking my payment, is messed up somewhere. I CANNOT FOR THE **** OF ME CONTACT A LIVE PERSON TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE!! Ive been trying for the last 5 days without results. Im getting fed up. I keep RESUBSCRIBING, only to have it bounced back as CANCELLED! WHAT IS GOING ON?! If I cannot talk to someone about this issue and it cannot be resolved, I want a FULL REFUND OF MY CURRENT BOOKS AND MY 2 REMAINING CREDITS!Ive NEVER in all my time being a supporter of Audible run into this kind of issue. I was ALWAYS able to reach someone to help if I needed it.

Deceiving website and tiny links on site navigation makes it impossible for you to cancel. One link leads you to the next dead link. Horrible and very rude customer service. This is a scam!!! buyer beware.

I was charged for credits for books. It turns out this maxes out at 6 credits. After this time they charge you money but give you nothin in exchange for that money. I dont know what kind of transaction charges one party and requires nothing of the other party. Anyway, I bought some books and continue to pay for the services but when I try to play a book, it tells me my subscription doesnt allow me to play books. So I was charged credits. I bought books with those credits but Im not allowed to use them or in other words I dont really have them. Theyve taken a ton of money from me and Ive got nothing in exchange. There was a class action filed but because I signed up at a time before usernames were emails I was not able to claim the books as part of the settlement. This company is a thief. They take your money and you get nothing. People should be in jail

I signed up for the "free" membership, and I listened to one book and found that the options were limited unless you purchased additional books. $15.85 per month does not offer you many options. So I canceled it within my Amazon app, and it showed "no membership" in my app. Unfortunately, it did not cancel and was charging my account for over a year - my fault for not checking, but why do you have to call to cancel it if it's showing "no membership"? So I called to cancel, and they transfer me multiple times. I finally got to the third customer service person and told him to stop transferring me, and cancel it. It took 2 seconds to cancel, but they try to persuade you not to leave. DON'T DO IT! It's a predatory service that has few good books for the membership cost, and you will regret it! It's a shame that the original online bookseller has outsourced this service to a predatory sub-company!

Horrible customer service. I was in the middle of reading a book Interpreting Scripture with Western Eyes, and they took the title away mid read. I called customer service today to find out where I could get the book and have my credit reversed. The customer service agent was really having a hard time helping me. She was nice, but had a very hard time understanding my ************** had a hard time understanding hers. I repeated the issue multiple times with no resolution. She told me there are no supervisors available to help. Very frustrating experience.
