I have never done audio books or have any desire to do so. I did not sign up for anything. The charges just showed up on my card. Audible is from Amazon, they had to give them the my email address and credit card number. Amazon has my old email that I dont use anymore. It had to have come from them. Its a scam. When you look at your CC bill and see AMZN in the description dont assume its a charge for something you purchased from them.

EXTREMELY unhappy with Audible! I signed up for the free trial of Audible Plus because the ***** said they had four books I wanted and I figured I could get through four in a month. NONE of the four are available in Audible Plus! I immediately unsubscribed, literally minutes after subscribing, and tried to subscribe to the Audible Premium Plus free trial to see if I could still listen to the books, but was ineligible as I had already "had" a free trial. Now the only way to get these books is to PAY for a subscription because these fools did not make it clear what was and was not available! They are obviously deceptive thinking they'll fool people into buying subscriptions. These are 60+-year-old books, not current bestsellers, so if these are not even available, what few pathetic choices are?

I made a book purchase in an Amazon store 12 months ago and was unknowingly and unwillingly signed up for a pay-per-month membership. The store clerk never explained that I had to cancel the membership after the trial period and Audible used my Amazon payment card to charge my account $14.99 per month for 12 months. I only recently detected it and called customer services. They cancelled my membership and offered me a refund for 6 months membership but not the full amount. These methods are borderline fraudulent and should be banned. It reflects badly on Audible and Amazon to use tricks to enroll people and quietly charge your credit card (NOTE: I did not provide Audible with my payment details, they stole it from Amazon without my consent). Shame on Audible and shame on Amazon.

Changed telephones and was locked out of my account because I did not remember what was in my library or what 3 books I already bought. ***** a month, 9 credits on my account. Gone!, 9 credits is 9 months of payments! They need to change this.

FALSE CLAIMS. I am the most tight-assed person when it comes to canceling free trials. so I KNOW I didn't agree to one. apparently Amazon Prime + audible is no perk anymore but from APRIL 2020 they've been charging me $15 a month.... $500+ later I am going through our lesser used credit cards and i see this ********... I'm livid.

Disappointed in how shady Audible clearly is. I didn't think they would use these tactics... I cancelled my account last year after using the app for about a year. The other day I was browsing the books you could buy if you had an account, just browsing, then went to bed. Today I opened audible to listen to a book in my library and saw I had one credit available and it showed a date for my next credit to my account. I never clicked on a trial never looked at anything regarding a trial, I didn't approve ANYTHING. I called customer support and was told I signed up for a free trial. I did not. Thankfully I pay attention. What bothers me is that even with my account CANCELLED the company clearly kept my information if it started my account without being prompted or asked for credit card info. So ******. So shady. So disappointed in a company I thought was not full of sh*t. The customer service rep was nice enough I will say and quickly cancelled the trial I did not ask for. I would have liked an apology but I know she did not make the shady app. Overall takeaway: Lots of book options with decent narrators. HOWEVER, beware of random charges you do not approve and stay on top of your account if you want to try this app.Date of incident:02/24/23-02/25/23

I signed up for a free membership back in 2020 i didnt leave on file a card to take my money , i listened to a few books during the trail period then didnt pay it any mind from time to time i would see charge from amazon thought it was for my prime membership i would see messages from Audible about credits etc but did not recognised i was been billed for almost over 2 years now i called the costumer service agent told me they cannot refund more than 6 months money ??? I am not satisfied they even mentioned i did not have a card on file , therefore they took the money via Amazon now that is not right , once the costumer did not leave a card for audible at least an email should be sent people work too hard in this country to be taken advantage of by mega Billionaires

Audible deceptively double charges when you try to switch plans before your current plan (or trial) has ended. It had just charged me $16.05 for the Premium Plus membership starting today. I did not want to continue paying that much so immediately switched to the every other month plan. Even though I had a FULL MONTH LEFT on the plan they'd just charged me for, Audible charged me the full amount for the new plan as well!!!! This is an extremely deceptive, customer-gouging practice that I feel is quite deliberate on Amazon's/Audible's part. It's sad that profit means so much to them, they will stoop this low.

I am being charged almost ***** a month, for something I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR! I also can't access my account to try to cancel this because they keep wanting to send a code to some random phone number BEFORE I can access MY account! Going to have to get my bank involved to get my money back. Will also be getting a new card.
