Renters Name: ******* ******** Date of Rental: 09/19/2024 thru 09/24/2024 The purpose of writing to you is to express my dissatisfaction with the rental vehicle that was given to me. I rented a car on 09/19/2024 thru 09/24/2024 from Avis Car Rental, ***********************************. The rental car that was given to me was not properly maintained. The front tires on the vehicle were bald, with the one on the drivers side being the worse with wires protruding on the inner side. I didnt realize that it was in that condition until my mother pointed it out to me. I drove to *********** for business in that condition not knowing I was risking my life. This was a life or death situation. Avis should be responsible for maintaining their vehicles before renting them out. I called Avis on 09/21/2024 to get a replacement and I was told a car would be available at the Avis Airport Location in ***********. When I arrived, I was told there were no vehicles available. My mother told me not to drive the car again until I got a replacement, as it was too dangerous to drive the vehicle. Therefore, I was not able to use the vehicle that day to take care of the business that I drove to *********** for. My mother contacted Avis Roadside Assistance on 09/22/2024 and explained the situation and said, My daughter cannot drive back to the airport. The vehicle needed to be towed, due to the danger involved. Again, I missed my appointment for that day, while waiting for Roadside Assistance to pick me up. The tow truck did not go directly to the rental office, because they had to make other stops. This, again, prolonged the time for me to get to my function. Because of how this was handled by Avis, I strongly believe that I should be reimbursed for the entire amount of the rental agreement. My life was put in danger. My time was wasted trying to get a replacement for the car I couldnt drive & I missed my scheduled appointments.Avis Rent A Car

BE CAREFUL USING THIS COMPANY. All flights to ********* were canceled and the agent at the front desk took advantage of this when we approached the front desk to rent a car 1 way. This jerk told us that it was going to be $200 to rent the car for 1 day and that there was going to be $150 "hold fee" until we returned the car in ***** at the airport. Come to find out, he was full of $hit and the $150 "hold fee" was in fact a one way drop off fee. Filing a dispute with my bank. Attempted calling customer support and they were completely unhelpful, wouldn't even transfer me to a manager, but instead persisted on arguing with me. What a joke. Avis is a JOKE! Avis *** told me that full insurance cover would be $140 for the two day rental. He then charged $140/day. The car that I reserved wasnt available so I took a jeep. The jeep smelled like an ashtray. The seat wont go back. The right mirror wont adjust. There wasnt a *** available in the airport garage so I took the car. I called back from the garage before I left and asked them to cancel the insurance which they said no. I told the *** that Texas consumer law allows up to 24 hrs to change ones mind. The *** put me on indefinite hold for over an hour. A two day rental cost me $540. Dont use Avis. They advertise a low price to lure you in , then they s**** you. I have 125 employees and Avis is now on our black list.Avis Rent A Car

Upon arriving at the location, we were informed there were no vehicles available at any local AVIS except the Corporate AVIS airport location. Our reservation was amended to pick up at the airport and notes were entered on our reservation to ensure the airport would charge us the price guaranteed by our initial reservation. We diverted to the airport location only to be told that our reservation would not be honored at the price we booked on Priceline because prices are higher at the airport and agents have no mechanism for adjusting prices. We were told we would have to pay double the price we booked on Priceline if we wanted a vehicle. After speaking extensively to customer service the only option we were provided was to pay the full double price and potentially receive a credit after returning the vehicle. This was unacceptable to us, we declined, and we returned to the location were initially booked to pick up. There we explained our situation to "****" and he was very understanding and recognized that it was important to make sure our initial reservation was honored and we were able to rent a vehicle. He explained that the computer system helps efficiency, but that the people whom represent AVIS have a duty to ensure the consumer is treated fairly, with dignity, and that contracts should be honored. **** was able to procure a vehicle and make sure our initial reservation terms were honored, which meant we were not stranded without a vehicle and we did not have to pay double our reservation price. **** immediately recognized the injustice in the Airport location dropping the ball and rather than loose a customer ********************** retained a customer. This location is excellent and their actions are exemplary in a time when artificial intelligence is taking over customer service and the few humans that are left are atrocious. Definitely, check this place out for your rental.Avis Rent A Car

I created an account with this company to see what my rates would be, if I rented a car with them. They are way over priced! Then I noticed they save your drivers license and credit card information in your account! There is also no option to use ******. I tried editing the account to take my personal information down but could not. I also could not simply delete my account! Avis is a terrible rental car company. We picked out an **** 3 SUV. We got a *** sedan. We were in ****** ****** and if anyone knows ******, most places are up and down one road hills. So our travels were limited. Also the car would not start half the time and nobody else could start it. The car was in a parking lot when we picked it up and nobody got it out into the open lot. We had a very small area to get into the vehicle. The service where to pick up was terrible. Another failure was the tires were low so we had to put air in all four tires on our way to the hotel. The car was not the cleanest I ever seen either.The whole car thing sucked for the price we paid which was a lot. I informed the hotel we stayed at and they will never recommend Avis to anyone that stays at their hotel. They said it was terrible because the guy that picked up the car or took it back to park it could not get it started half the time. He had to give it time and then retry. My brother did ***** and he got a great ****** Rav 4 SUV. He was very happy and satisfied.Avis Rent A Car

I rented a car in ******, ** on Labor Day weekend. It was after 11pm on Friday when we picked up our vehicle at ****************************. We were told they had one vehicle left for us. We told the young lady assisting us that there was damage to the back end of the vehicle prior to leaving the lot.Yesterday, I received a claim for the damage on the vehicle. I guess she didn't mark the truck as damaged. So, now we're on the hook for something we were not responsible for.They also charged us for gas used between the gas station and the rental car return. I'm not sure how we're supposed to not use gas between those two points. I'm very disgusted with the whole process.Avis Rent A Car

My experience with this rental company since July 27th, 2024, has been nothing short of traumatic. As an **** driver and licensed insurance agent, I rely on having a safe and functional vehicle. Unfortunately, I was met with extreme rudeness and unprofessional behavior from both the staff and the manager. They called me names like dumb, cursed at me, and forced me out of two rental vehicles. This treatment was not only demeaning but also utterly unacceptable.The first vehicle I was leased had a chipped windshield, which I reported to corporate customer service the day I rented the vehicle. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, I was forced out of the vehicle on August 21st and given another one. This second vehicle clearly had prior accident damage, which I also reported to corporate. They confirmed it wasn't company policy to rent out damaged cars and offered me a $100 discount for my next renewal. Despite this, I was forced out of the second vehicle on September 24th and accused of causing damage that was present when I first rented it.Luckily, I had documented the pre-existing damage with corporate when I initially received each vehicle, avoiding further liability. However, the staffs behavior was appalling. Their name-calling, cursing, and hostile attitude only worsened an already frustrating situation. As someone who depends on this rental to work, being without a vehicle has left me unable to earn a living.I am now in a desperate situation, unable to find another rental vehicle in my city, making it impossible to work. This location needs to be investigated for its fraudulent activities and lack of professionalism. I urge corporate leadership to address these serious issues before more customers are mistreated and endangered.Avis Rent A Car

This is absolutely the worst rental agency that Ive ever dealt with. The vehicle was not thoroughly cleaned out upon arrival so we had to wait for them to take it around back and spray the outside of it off. Which was the only visible thing done. The lady at the front desk seemingly had a trouble attitude the entire time. Oh and then we were told that the Malibu was the only vehicle available at the time after asking her about taking a nice Camry that was out there amongst plenty of other vehicles in the lot at the time. Lets see, it gets better.. Upon returning the car, I was charged an additional amount of money for fuel fees as they claimed that the amount of fuel was less than why it was prior to pickup which were lies! Then, a late fee was added to the book after that despite us returning the vehicle way ahead of the original drop off time. I had to call the head company at least 8-10 times within the time frame of us returning the vehicle to dispute 3-4 ridiculous charges that were charged to my credit card based on the bs these ppl added to my bill. One other dispute was for my Deposit that I was supposed to automatically receive back upon the return which they tried to keep due to the other excessive charges that they just placed on the bill for no reason. I would NEVER rent from this place again if its the only one thats close to me. Please Beware??Avis Rent A Car

Our car became undrivable the last full day of family vacation with 4 adults a baby and 3 year old child. We waited 6 hrs for it to be towed to the Avis repair facility. Avis never offered to bring us a replacement, but I was told that I could get back to the airport in *************** to pick up a car. We declined as we were flying out the very next morning. Fast forward 3 days home, and I'm still getting text messages that our car was not returned. I've spend almost 5 hrs on the phone with customer service. When I inquired when I would be reimbursed for the 26 hours that the car was not iny possession, the answer was that the rental isn't closed until it is returned to the renting facility. **************** then confirmed to me that meant the rental was open while Avis was repairing their own car and nothing happens until it goes back to the renting facility. This car would not go into gear, every light on the dash was lit up, it would not start, I spend 6 hours waiting for it to be towed, but I have to wait until Avis finishes their repairs in a car they probably should not have rented out in the first place. ******** customer service in my estimation. ***** them.Avis Rent A Car
