      I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent rental experience at the ****** Avis location.From the moment I arrived, the customer service was appalling. The employee behind the counter was rude, used inappropriate language, and seemed annoyed by my presence, despite being the only customer in the store. The rushed walk-through and subsequent need to clean the vehicle further added to the inconvenience.Upon returning the vehicle, I was assured there were no issues. However, 24 hours later, I received a call claiming damage to the vehicle, making me liable. This inconsistency is unacceptable. The discrepancy between the initial inspection and the final charge raises serious concerns about the company's procedures and the integrity of the staff that work there.I believe this situation was exacerbated by the fact that I was alone and a woman. It seems as though I was taken advantage of due to my circumstances. I will also discourage others from renting from the ****** location and Avis in general.

      I rented a car from Avis rental at the above address. ***********************, on 6th of October, at 2:30 pm and returned the car at the *************** around 10:30 pm same day. There was no one at the rental location at *************** to check the car. The receipt I received by email says that I returned the car next day , and charged for an extra day and also charged me for the gas . I filled the tank before I returned the car . The original amount should be $103.60, but they charged me $168.32. This company is engaging in deceptive practices. Same exact way happened , when I rented a car at a different location. Consumers should be warned. The call center listens to your complaints, but dont do any thing . I am going to let the ****** know about this , since I booked the car through them. Please warn the consumers.

      Can you give 0 stars. This has been hands down the worse experience in the world. Our car broke down in *****. We were told that a tow truck and cab were being sent to pick up the car and take us back to Avis to get a new car. Tow truck came, but no taxi. The customer service *** misspoke and we ended up needing to pay for our own taxi back to the airport. Now I am out $100 euros that Avis is supposed to refund me. It has been over 2 months, and still no refund. Everytime I call, "give us 2 weeks to hear back from International". I have given you 2 months and no resolution. Absolutely horrible. Entire day on our vacation spoiled because of Avis and they can't even help us recoup some of the cost. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Case ********!

      I needed to rent a car for my return home from vacation. Avis web site was not working so I called the number for them . I told the man on the phone that the web site wasn't working and I needed to rent a car to get back home a week and 1 day from the day I called them which was September 21st 2024. He told me that I needed to rent the car from where I was *************** cruise port and have it scheduled for drop off at the same place *************** cruise port the next day. I only needed the car for 24 hours. Which normally would cost about $58. I looked it up a couple days prior to see the prices. He told me after I get the car I needed to call him (avis) back and tell them I changed my drop off location. Then they will charge me a fee between $25 and $300. He said they will let me know how much when I called. He told me this was the only way I could get a car. I did everything I was told by avis to do. When I called them back they told me it would not be between $25 or $300 it actually would cost me $976.11 after I was already on the road home. When I talked to the supervisor ******* about how I was lied to and told her to listen to the conversation she hung up on me. I was scammed into this by avis saying this was the only way to rent the car since the web site wasnt working and now they took out the money $976.11 from my account for a car that only would cost $60 at most!!!! I rented a car through them to get to *************** cruise port for 2 days that only cost me $150. For 2 days. I used their car for 1 day and was charged almost $1000. For the same trip I just took just opposite directions.!!! They didn't even try to listen to me and only hung up on me.

      We reviewed your reservation for use from the Ft Lauderdale Cruiseport (QF1) location on September 29th to be returned to the same location on September 30th. Per the terms and conditions, renters agree to return the car to us on the due date and at the time and to the location specified by you on the rental agreement. However, when you opted to drop off at the **************************** (YNG) in ******, ** you were subject to a one way fee for that return. We understand you may not agree with these findings. However, we do find your rental billing to be correct and no adjustments warranted for services received and billed.

      Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

      Avis at the airport in ************* is renting out vehicles with expired tags. The lady at the desk gave me a rental truck with an expired tag in 2023. We are now in October of 2024. Once I came downstairs to pick up the vehicle I looked at the tag and noticed it was expired. I then asked for another vehicle because I don't want any problems with the police stopping me for a expired tag. So they gave me a tag with **** 2025. Well I just was stopped because the tag is no good although it has a non expired tag. This tag is not registered to this vehicle. This has to be stopped.

      Avis strives to provide a mechanically sound, well-maintained fleet, and we are sincerely sorry that you were inconvenienced by the registration display expiration. Because our vehicles can travel across the country, and in some cases internationally, there can be instances where a vehicle's registration is updated with local authorities where the vehicle is registered, but the license plate display has not been physically updated; this can happen if a vehicle registered in one state or province has since traveled to and is in use in a different state or province. Most law enforcement agencies recognize that renters are not responsible for the registration upkeep of a vehicle and will issue citations against the rental company that owns the vehicle and not the renter.  

      In the event that a renter does receive a citation for a registration issue only, we can review for transfer of liability or reimbursement (if the citation has already been paid by the renter) with our ********************* This can be done by emailing a copy of an issued citation to ***************************************************** If a citation is issued for any other reason or in addition to registration issues, liability for additional violations is the responsibility of the renter using the vehicle; Avis will only handle registration issues.

      It was a pretty terrible experience with the staff. Poor attitude and tried to give me an EV and then a mini va after I reserved and did early check in for a mid size sedan. My discount code wasn't applied at pick up now drop off. I'll never use Priceline or Avis or a rental car again. **** will get my business after that experience. The man who helped me at the Avis main office at *** lied and said I saved $400 with my discount code. He was humoring me and wanted me to leave him alone so he told me something n totally Ludacris instead of 'your discount code wasn't used or applied'. The service was so terrible that I knew I'd lose my cool if I engaged. Their deception and poor service was not worth losing my sanity and it's a **** shame they wanted to keep my discount from me. I'll never work with them again.

      We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you.  

      We do confirm that you were provided with an Intermediate SUV instead of the Intermediate Sedan that was reserved at no additional cost as the rate that was reserved, including any redeemed discounts, was applied to the rental.

      ******** horrible company!! Reserved a vehicle months in advance and 40 mins before our reserve pick up time was left a voicemail they didnt have a vehicle for us. No one would answer our calls at location and kept being sent to the call center who told us on our last call the reservation was cancelled and ask if we did it. Why would we continuously call if we cancelled, come on, be real. Great way to start our family vacation. Dont waste your time with this company.

      In August 2024 I rented a car using the AVIS WEBSITE for pickup at ********* ************************************. I picked up and returned the car at the AVIS DESK and paid the bill sent by AVIS. A few weeks later, I noticed that AVIS had not credited me with rental points and the AVIS WEBSITE had no record of the rental. Contacted AVIS customer service who requested the confirmation number, which I provided. They said they didn't have a record of it and asked for the rental agreement number, which I sent. They said they had no record of it. Several phone calls later, AVIS customer service eventually told me that the Anchorage AVIS location is "an independent franchisee" and I'd have to contact them directly. I called the Anchorage AVIS number and was told that "we don't give out points at this location". Moral of the story: don't rent from AVIS.

      Per the terms and agreement you agreed to at the time of setting up your profile it did state that you earn points at participating locations only. We do apologize but we do have a small handful of locations that do not participate in our points program and the Anchorage locations are some of the locations that do not participate.

      1. We were charged for not filling fuel tank. (We filled up on premise before returning.) After submitting the receipt per e-mail, we will be reimbursed, but all they had to do was look at the gas gauge. Had I not disputed this, I would have been billed. 2. We were also charged $125 as the car was considered excessively dirty? "It was not returned as it was rented out." We went to the beach twice during the rental time--cleaned our shoes as best as we could. I have never been charged for "extra cleaning". That is typically what is done when the car is returned--it is cleaned. The rest of the car was very clean--just the 2 front floor mats had sand. After disputing this, the fee was dropped to $60.00, but still do not feel that was right. This was frustrating occurrence. We were grateful for a car rental, but was not expecting this outcome. This was at the ******, **********.

      Renters are expected to return the vehicle in the condition it was received in. If a car is returned to us with trash, dirt of any kind, or other soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. Renters will also be billed for fuel if returned with less fuel than indicated at checkout. We understand you may not agree with this policy, but this is the expense associated with restoring the car after your use. However, our **************** team did issue courtesy adjustments for these charges.
