I was sold a carseat that was already two years old when it was purchased, meaning that the carseat sat in a warehouse somewhere for two years before being sold as "brand new". This severely impacts the life of the car seat since it only has 6 years before expiration. I contacted BuyBuyBaby back in April attempting to get store credit for the $200 spent on the car seat. I spent weeks emailing with someone on the "transition team" before the emails suddenly stopped going through. I have finally gotten in touch with someone on the Beyond customer team but at first, all they offered was $15 store credit since they can longer access records before March of this year and complete returns on items purchased before then. This is completely unacceptable and I am requesting a full $200 store credit to make up for this faulty product I was sold.

I have a total of $315 in Buy Buy Baby gift cards, held since last year. On September 24, 2024, I was told by customer service—with email evidence—that these cards had no expiration date, which is why I held onto them.

However, when I tried to use them this week, I was told they are now worthless due to a change in ownership. I received no email, message, or physical notice—just a claim that it was mentioned on the website. This is completely unfair and feels like customers are being robbed.

    1. It’s not the customer’s fault for not checking the website regularly. It makes no sense that if we not happened to visit the site at right time, we’d lose all our gift card value, no matter how much you have.

    2. We were explicitly told there was no expiration date. The Buy Buy Baby brand still exists, and a promise should be honored. This situation damages customer trust and the brand’s reputation.

I contacted customer service (Case #*********, and they refused to return the full value. How can customers trust Buy Buy Baby if their gift cards can suddenly become worthless again?

    Business Response

    Date: 06/04/2025

    To Whom It May Concern,

We understand and empathize with the frustration this
customer is experiencing regarding the unusable gift cards, and we sincerely
apologize for the inconvenience caused by this situation.

The buybuy BABY brand was acquired by new ownership, and as part of that
transition—effective March 17, 2025—we unfortunately did not receive
access to any customer data, order history, or prior gift card balances from the previous company. As a result, gift cards issued before the
transition are not redeemable under the new ownership, as we have no means
to verify or process those cards.

We understand the customer was previously informed that the cards had no
expiration date. However, due to the nature of the brand transition and legal
separation from the previous entity, the new ownership is not responsible
for liabilities—including unredeemed gift cards—from the former company.

We recognize that this situation has caused disappointment, and as a gesture
of goodwill, we offered the customer:
    • A 15% off coupon for use on our current website.
    • A $90 in-store credit offered purely as a courtesy.

While we are unable to restore the full gift card value due to the separation
from past systems and accounts, we hope this offer demonstrates our commitment
to making things right within our capacity.

    Sincerely,
    Bed Bath and Beyond

On April 3, 2024, I received a $75 gift card to Buy Buy Baby. When I attempted to use it on May 29, 2025, I was told by two customer service agents, April and TJ, that the card was no longer valid. According to them, gift cards issued before March 2025 were rendered void due to a change in company ownership. At no point was I notified that my gift card would become unusable as a result of this transition.

The only resolution offered was $15.62 in store credit. This is a small fraction of the original value. This is unacceptable, especially given that the loss of value was neither communicated nor reasonably foreseeable.

Buy Buy Baby, now owned by Beyond, has demonstrated a clear disregard for customers by invalidating previously issued gift cards without notice or compensation. This practice is both unethical and deeply concerning, particularly for a company serving families with young children. I hope sharing this experience helps others make more informed decisions about where they choose to spend their hard earned money.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/30/2025

    To Whom It May Concern:

All complaints for purchases that occurred on the BuyBuyBaby website prior to 3/17/2025  should be directed to the current operator, BBBY Acquisition Co., LLC, which will still exist after the March 17 transition and will continue to bear liability for those pre-existing transactions.

Beyond has purchased the BuyBuyBaby trademark and domain name, not the entire company or any liability owed to customers.

    Sincerely
    Bed Bath & Beyond

I am filing this complaint regarding a crib I ordered from BuyBuyBaby on August 24, 2024, for which I paid $381.60. At the time of purchase, I was informed that the crib was on backorder and would be available by December 2024. I accepted this timeline because my due date was January 5, ******* November 2024, I proactively contacted BuyBuyBaby to confirm the expected delivery date in December. At that point, customer service was responsive and informed me they were awaiting a response from their vendor partner. On December 6, 2024, I was told the crib would arrive during the first week of March 2025. Since that update, communication has broken down. I followed up on March 7, 2025, and was told I would receive an update within 24 hoursbut I never heard back. I sent another follow-up on March 12, 2025, and again received no response. The lack of communication is unacceptable. Ive had to continually reach out for updates with little to no response. My baby needs this item.Due to the ongoing delay and lack of support, I am requesting the following:Immediate confirmation that the crib will be delivered in June 2025.If the crib cannot be delivered by June, I request a full refund for the crib.Additionally, I request a full refund for the matching dresser set, changing top, and toddler rail, as these items were purchased specifically to coordinate with the crib.Compensation for the extended delay, poor communication, and the stress this situation has ********* make matters worse, the email addresses I had previously used to communicate with BuyBuyBaby are no longer functionalI now receive mailer daemon errors when attempting to contact them. I reached out to Beyond, the company ********** merged with, and was informed they are unable to access any orders placed before March 17, 2025, due to the transition. As a result, I currently have no way to contact anyone regarding the status of my order. This has become a highly frustrating and unresolved issue.

    Complaint: 22498349

I am rejecting this response because: Buy buy baby said they won't refund my money unless my credit card company takes money away from me. My credit card company says that's incorrect, that they can refund me and also my credit card company said they've been trying to get in contact with buy buy baby and they won't respond. They're playing games and my credit card company and myself have both called them out for it. They also keep talking about banks. This is not thru a bank

I took a car seat to Buybuy Baby to sell (essentially a consignment). As we were missing a piece of the seat they let us know we would need to send the part along before it could be appraised. The employee refused to tell us what percentage of the total sale we would receive as that would be part of the appraisal. When I suggested that we would come back with the missing part the employee said that was impossible because the seat had already been processed but wed be sent an appraisal before anything happened. We sent along the missing piece. Without any appraisal or notice our seat was listed for far below market value and then sold. Buy buy baby then let us know that they would take half of the total sale plus fees. The whole process felt poorly organized at best but I couldnt shake the sense that this was purposely designed to be confusing and take advantage.

Im having my 2nd **** in a few days and ordered a full set of furniture for the new nursery. When the day came, the delivery drivers made it upstairs successfully with the crib, but proceeded to drop the rest causing a chunk of wood to come out of the front of the chifferobe, and there were large chips of paint missing from the changing table topper.Beyond the damage to the furniture, the delivery people scratched the wall by the stairs, took out two pieces of molding, and scratched the floor in two places - the hallway and the nursery. They also left trash and debris all over the place even though they werent supposed to remove anything from the box My husband let them know that there was damage but the delivery people were dismissive and to contact buy buy ****.Since there is no way to call customer service, I submitted a ticket / case to buy buy **** on August 12th, the same day as the delivery. I got a response from ***** giving me the normal apology for the inconvenience and said I would hear back in 24 hours. As of now, Ive been ignored and /or passed around all week and have emailed 6 times seeking resolution. ***** finally got back to me saying that I would need to file a claim with the logistics company for the damage to my home, which is frustrating because 1) she gave me no information on how to do that and 2) Ive waited a week just to be pushed off AGAIN to someone else. It seems like a complete lack of accountability to avoid resolving and compensating for the issue ***** also said that I would hear from her today (Saturday) regarding the damage to the furniture but I was ignored AGAIN and got no call.or response to my email.I am now in a position where my contractor has to pull up sections of the floor to fix the scratches, we need to repair molding, and repair scratched paint which will cost me more than the furniture did on top of the damage to the furniture. I need to be compensated for the damage they caused.

    Complaint: 22159267

I am rejecting this response because:

it has been over a month to resolve a relatively straightforward issue - the furniture arrived damaged and additionally, the delivery team was unprofessional and caused damage to my home.

As good faith was offered products that I already have and when I asked to get a credit for the value of the products to get something helpful, I was offered less, and then the offer was rescinded with a long email from ***** that made no sense and felt accusatory, as if Ive done something wrong.

I have been asked for SO much information - pictures, Invoices, video recordings (where you can clearly see the delivery drivers literally rolling the furniture up the stairs and on the concrete), etc. and I have provided everything requested. I have been passed around to multiple people and communication has been infrequent at best. They allege its because people are on vacation and not available but as a consumer their lack of coverage to resolve issues isnt my problem.

Last week I was handed off to yet another person swati who told me on Friday 9/13 that I would have an update/resolution by Monday 9/16 by end of day and as of today I have heard nothing from them again, despite sending yet another email to follow up again. It seems the team is hoping that by continuously ignoring me and asking for more and more information, and dragging this out this issue will just go away - but it will not. Ive asked to be contacted by phone and that request gets ignored as well.

I bought furniture from them for my nursery and I have since had my baby that I was preparing a nursery for - this is the last thing I feel like still dealing with. Its shocking that a company that focuses on babies would be putting a new mother through this.

The apologies I receive over and over seem insincere and disingenuous at this point since I continue to be ignored.

    Regards,

I used buy buy baby as my registry. Unfortunately they will not accept my return request after 14 days from my shower date. I drove an hour to return these items and they said they can not do a thing. They offered to return the items back to my guest at the shower.
