Went to get my blood drawn on April 1, 2022 & was called on April 8, 2022 that my blood samples had been compromised & I had to come back in for another draw. I was told I would not have to pay for the April 1st draw since it was beyond my control that the carrier didnt transport it properly. I went in on April 11, 2022 to have the blood drawn all over again & was told AGAIN that I would not be charged for the April 1st appointment.I have called 4 times to Quest & explained over & over again what happened & that I shouldnt be charged for the 4/1/22 visit & that I paid fully for my 4/11/22 visit. I keep getting bills for 4/1 & now the last bill said it would be sent to collections. All I want is for that bill to be erased since it was beyond my control & I had to come back for the exact same labs. This is not right that ** having to fight this so hard. Quest needs to step up & make this right-erase that **** please!!!Initial Complaint

On November 12th, 2021, I took my son to a local Quest Diagnostics for a blood draw. Thinking that ** workers know what theyre doing, but I had no idea at the time, that the individual taking our info did not know what they were doing and mixed my insurance info up with his: The result being months of frustration and loss of my time. At first, I received a 4 figure ** bill in March which I thought was odd, since it was almost 5 months later. I called to see what the issue was, and was told that the **** claim was denied because my sons info did not match their records. I explained that the person recording the info at the local ** location did seemed to be confused about my sons birth date. The rep at ** said that they would update the claim and it would get resubmitted go through Four months later I received the same bill again much to my dismay, and once again contacted them to see if the issue could be resolved. This time, the ** rep told me that they had resubmitted the claim in March, but it was denied again, and it looked like the wrong info was once again submitted. So I gave the ** rep the info again, and same response Well get this taken care of for you. Liar. August 5th, 2022 I just got a notice from a debt collector representing Quest Diagnostics. After the last ** contact, I had searched for negative reviews about **. I was stunned at finding thousands of complaints on the BBB site and hundreds of more elsewhere. Scrolling through the complaints , I immediately found many complaints like mine. Today, August 8th,2022, I called **** for some updates on the claims that they were receiving from **. I was told that there were NO submissions from Quest Diagnostics past last year so basically ** did not even attempt to resubmit a claim, they just lied to me, which is more than negligent, malicious. I called ** an hour ago and once again, they took my update information again and told me that they would resubmit and it would be taken care of. Right.Initial Complaint

I was on a payment plan with Quest Diagnostics. Every month, they would automatically withdraw an amount to pay my balance. Suddenly, they stopped and sent me to a collection agency. We are trying to buy a house and this affected my credit score greatly. I contacted Quest and was told they would withdraw my account from the collection agency and put me back in payments for the balance. 2 weeks later, I call back to check the status of my account and nothing has been done. Now they are saying it will take another 4 to 6 weeks for an investigation to happen while we lose out on purchasing our home because my credit has dropped dramatically. This is unacceptable, irresponsible and just plain annoying for a business to take this long to fix a problem THEY CAUSED!!!Initial Complaint

I received a bill from Quest in May 2022 for a service that they provide back in July 2021. When I called Quest looking for a reason on why they are sending me a bill so late and have they sent this bill to my insurance agency first, I was told they had not submitted the bill to my insurance. I requested the bill to be sent to my insurance company and after the insurance payment, I will be happy to pay the balance. I also asked if this will go to collection agency since the service was last July. The representative said that she will put a note in the system not to send to the collection and it will take 45 days for the them to get a response from the insurance. On August 4 when called Quest, I found out that insurance paid a position of the bill in July 6, 2022 but for the balance, they send it to collection agency. I had communicated with them on May 2022 during our call I will pay the balance after my insurance pay. Quest never communicated with me the balance after the insurance payment, instead sent it directly to the collection agency for non-payment. On August 4th, after speaking with multiple Quest representatives and looking for answer why they sent it to collection agency when I was communicating with them on this invoice and ready to pay the balance, which they could not answer, I paid off the balance with Quest so that my credit history would not be negatively effected. I would like to file a complaint with BBB regarding few issues with Quest: - Quest was negligent sending an initial bill after 10 months of service, had not billed my insurance first before sending me an initial bill - Quest internal processes seem broken and its customers are having to suffer due to lack of process and Quest lack of responsibility - Quest was negligent in their process which exposed me to a negative credit history I would like an inquiry in this this or any other assistance that *** can provide. Thank you and please contacted for any additional information.Initial Complaint

I had blood work done by my Doctor and the specimen was sent to Quest Diagnostics . I have ********** Blue Shield HMO insurance. The costs should be completely covered by insurance. A coding error caused payment to be delayed. The amount of the bill was $283.46. Quest put me into collections for this causing a huge drop in my credit score. I immediately paid the $283.46 on January 06, 2022. On January 14, 2022 ********** Blue Shield HMO paid the bill. I have made several demands for a refund from Quest for the overpayment. Quest refuses to refund the money.Initial Complaint

On 5-30-19 I had testing performed at Quest which my insurance did not cover the full balance. Quest agreed to a payment plan of $20.00 per month which I have paid every month on time as evidenced by my monthly quest statements. On 6-15-22 I received a collection letter from Credit Collection Services requesting the balance be paid in full. I called Credit Collection Services and they said Quest had sent my account to them for collection. I explained I had been on a payment plan but all they could tell me is Quest sent this to them for collection. I called Quest and spoke to 5 different people (over an hour on the phone) including a supervisor and they did see I was current on the payment plan and was not able to tell me why this account was sent to collections. To avoid a ding on my credit I paid the account in full using a credit card. I want Quest to explain why they voided my payment plan and sent my account to collections. I would like quest to refund the amount I paid and reinstall my account to the payment plan I have been on since 2019.Initial Complaint

I was experiencing Covid 19 symptoms and went to my physician who ordered a Rapid Covid 19 Test(results to come back in 3 days) . I used Quest Diagnostics to provide my blood sample(s) and waited 3 days for my results. I did not get them and called Quest Diagnostics Customer ********************** and was told they received my sample and it was being processed, I made several more phone calls to Customer ********************** over the next 2 days and was told that it was still in process and results would come shortly. Again, this was supposed to be a rapid 3 day test. I made a phone call to Quest on Saturday May 14, ******************************************** the Quest Lab. I spoke with my doctor who instructed me to go immediately to a Covid ***************** which I did on May 14 and tested positive. This was an out of pocket expense for $225. After quarantining and recovery from Covid, I recontacted Quest and explained my experience. I learned that I should contact a Quest Patient Advocate which I did and explained what happened. Her name is ************************* and after taking all my information was very apologetic about what happened and offered reimbursement for $225 pending a copy of my receipt from the lab that I used. I sent the receipt via email to ****************** on May 28 2022 and received an email back that she forwarded it to the appropriate Quest Department for reimbursement. Since then I have had several communications with ****************** who has maintained it is still being processed with no definitive delivery date. As of today, I still have not received my reimbursement check going over 2 months.******************************** email address is ****************************************** and her title is Senior Advocacy LiaisonInitial Complaint

A lab sample was sent to Quest in error in December of 2021, this was not an error in our clinic or the patient, instead a different lab forwarded to Quest in error. As soon as we realized the mistake, we (the clinic that ordered the test), called Quest, canceled the order. At time we were advised that the order was canceled, and the patient would not be billed. Now it is July 2022, the patient never received a **** or phone call form quest, instead the patient started to get call from collections. The patient has spoken to collections and to Quest and was told that only the provider can resolve this. I have attempted repeatedly to resolve this but have been unsuccessful. I get sent from person to person and hung up on.Initial Complaint

I had an appointment with Quest Diagnostic Service Center on ************************************************************************* for extensive lab testing as ordered by my physician. My appointment was at ***** however I was invited in at 12 noon.As I presented the prescription to the phlebotomist, she took a deep sigh and went straight on the ********* Edge internet service. She started to search the doctor name. I explained that the same doctor has ordered tests through Quest at the same center but she stated we do not know that yet. After spending another 22 minutes, she called doctor ******* Doctor was rounding so staff could not reach him. she stated that out of 21 tests, one test states Fibrinogen level and not fibrinogen so she can not do anything. I asked that I have been fasting for over 12 hours, could she take my blood and verify the test. I also indicated that I am a physician and a client of Quest. She stated that this is not how Quest works. She offered me to leave and returned the script. I asked for her to keep the script so that I can reach the doctor myself to help her out. She asked me sit in the waiting area while I tried to call the doctor and had not completed my first attempt. Then she returned the script to me again and stated that you are done here.I am astonished that after telling positive things to so many patients about Quest, I am the victim of patient abuse. Your employee is hurting a patient who required test for a medical reason, is commercially insured, is a physician himself, is willing to help the phlebotomist and is being asked to go somewhere else. My mind is just not willing to accept that the lab we used for entire family for decades lost a great professional customer after this abusive behavior. I hope that this behavior does not repeat itself. An unhappy employee can cost a company tremendous amount of revenues. On a side note, while I was waiting for my appointment, there were two walk in patients. Your staff came out & refused to help.
