      Last year October 2024, I purchased over $1500 in items at BuyBuyBaby (under the ownership of ***** ** **), and was issued $450 in giftcards to be used online and/or in store. As the brick and mortar stores began to close in early 2025 across the country, we were assured that our giftcards could be used and honored online. I visited the Scarsdale, NY store in March 2025, where I was further assured that giftcards would be honored onlined. In mid-March, BuyBuyBaby was purchased by Overstock, where, we, consumers found out our giftcards were non-redeemable. There was no notification, no warning. Upon contacting the new owners, we were shamed and blamed and given 25% of the original giftcard cost as a gesture of goodwill. As a new Mom of twins, who not only hosted her registry but also spent significantly, this is a textbook example of poor customer service and consumer protection. As part of the acquisition, the underlying debit and liability of giftcards should have been absorbed and honored by the new company. Who is looking out for us consumers?

      I purchased a crib, crib conversion to bed kit, changing table and dresser in October 2024, in store before all stores were closed. I do not have a tracking number but it is under my email ********************** I received all pieces except the crib due to being on backorder. BuyBuy Baby kept pushing back delivery date due to vendor. Now my crib is at a warehouse in ********** since April 3 and Buy Buy Baby said they would contact me for delivery. The warehouse never has so I called them and they said they are not authorized by Buy Buy Baby to deliver the crib. I cant get ahold of anyone at BuyBuy Baby who seems to know about this issue or can help me. I want my crib thats sitting in **********

      Thank you for reaching out and sharing the customer concerns with us. We understand how important this order is and sincerely regret the inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused for the customer.

      Bed Bath & Beyond acquired the BuyBuy BABY brand on March *******. As part of this acquisition, we did not receive access to customer data, order history, or transactions from before the transition date.Because the customer order was placed in October 2024, prior to the acquisition,we unfortunately do not have visibility into or authority over orders placed under the previous ownership.

      We recognize how upsetting this must be, especially with a crib pending delivery, and we truly wish we could assist further. However, since this issue is related to an order placed before March 17, 2025, it falls outside the scope of what our current team can resolve.

      If you need assistance with any orders placed after March 17, 2025, we would be more than happy to help.

      We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank the customer for understanding.

      Bed Bath & Beyond acquired the BuyBuy BABY brand on March 17, 2025. As part of this acquisition, we did not receive access to customer data, order history, or transactions from before the transition date. 

      The transition refers to the name, not the company.  The customers complaint is with the previous company.

      On January 22nd I placed an order for a car seat for a baby shower and the item was delivered on the 28th. My neighbor holds on my packages when I’m away for work so when he gave me all the packages and I saw the car seat it was a different one than what I ordered. On February 1st while I was away for work I reached out via email regarding the wrong car seat. I was told to send pictures of what was sent. After I sent them they tell me to send photos with the label but it was already taken off from my neighbor since he knows me really well. After going back and forth with the representative I kind of gave up since I didn’t get any replies. After I did some investigating with the tracking number the picture showed they delivered the right item so around the end of February I sent a reply stating I found the item and there was a misunderstanding since a few family members bought the same brand of car seat as I did and mine was put in the garage. I just nicely requested a refund since I already bought another car seat just like the one i ordered since I didn’t know how long it would be to get the issue resolved but the message came back as an error and I tried contacting the company several time even bed bath and beyond and no respond. Simran was the representative handing the return and she hasn’t responded to any of my messages. I still have the product and it hasn’t been opened or tampered with Like it was shipped

      The business is refusing to honor, gift cards, issued due to a change in ownership. This is completely unfair to the consumer. When the gift card was purchased, it was purchased under the pretense that does not ever expire. The business is still operating. Ill be under a different owner. That does not mean that the previous gift card should not be honored.

      I think its REALLY unfair that they can just decide to not honor gift cards prior to the new ownership. Total scam. Someone took my money and the gift cards payable should have been accounted for in the sale price of the business.

      Nov. 21 I purchases approximately $60 worth of merchandise. All tracking shows it was delivered. I never received the order. After multiple emails I was told on 12/29 I would receive an 80% refund ASAP. It is now 1/23 and I have yet to receive any products or the refund. The purchase was advertised as a Big Lots warehouse.

      There was never any announcement of a corporate change when it came to buy buy baby and I spoke to customer service because I have a $100 gift card that they refuse to accommodate anyone who has had one since the company change. The manager of the linden location stated that exactly, they do not accommodate anyone for this issue regardless of the amount on gift card. This is unacceptable. Some of us are single mothers struggling and depend on gift cards as such and to tell customers they are on their own? Are you kidding me?

      I have buy buy baby gift cards which I can’t redeem either online or in store. We need to have option to get the money back.

      I received a gift card from buy buy baby 11/2022. The company announced their closure very rapidly along with banning gift card use after a certain date. I made several attempts to use the card online but the website would not accept my gift card. This is unfair as the gift card was purchased and not able to be used.
