I received two gift cards for my wedding last year, and i attempted to use this card online, or in the states (knowing that the canadian store filed for bankruptcy), however was informed that i cannot do this, although the card specifies on it that it can be used in the ***, and online. They are offering new gift cards for purchase... this is incredibly disturbing. I would like for my gift cards to be checked for balance and be given a new gift card with the amount.Initial Complaint

I ordered a gazebo from the company and it shipped from ********** which took 31/2 weeks to deliver. When the order arrived, one of the boxes had been lost at customs. The company sent me another box to replace the first, but when I received it and looked at the parts in the original boxes I received and the forth box that I waited for, all of the parts were damaged, dented. I called the company and explained that I would not continue the process of returning or replacing because half of the summer was gone and it took too long to receive replacements, so I would accept product as is and make do, but that I wanted a partial refund on the purchase. They then told me that all they could offer me was a 150$ refund. The damage is worth a lot more than that, and I can not contact headquarters or anyone to negotiate with. They said it is a computer generated amount that they are allowed to refund and that is it. As a customer paying that much, I believe I should be entitled to more than that for compensation. I sent them over ************************************************************** but said there was nothing she could do. I no longer want to do business with them or wait again for a new set that will likely have the same issue because of the way they pack their products. The case # is ******** Thank youInitial Complaint

Gift cards were purchased. The company goes bankrupt, then comes back. How is this ok for the consumer to not be able to use the gift card? Where is the protection for the customer?Initial Complaint

I have been trying for a few days to get an issue resolved. There is no corporate number to reach out to. I have searched. In April 2024, I purchased two rugs in anticipation of my home remodeling that unfortunately ran over its deadline. It was completed this weekend. Today, I finally opened the rugs that I purchased in April and realize they do not fit, nor do I like them. I am apparently 20-days beyond returns, according to your customer service. In my past experience, I have done this before with remodels, and returning rugs has never been an issue. I am not asking for my money back, a merchandise credit is sufficient. Their customer service will not help me.Initial Complaint

I bought a $100 gift card with no expiration date from bed, bath&Beyond. Overstock will no longer honor gift cards issued by ********************************** when a company buys a different company out of bankruptcy, don't they also buy those debts?Business Response

To Whom It May ****************** product was not purchased from Overstock, now Bed Bath & Beyond.
The new Bed Bath & Beyond is not the same company as the former Bed Bath & Beyond. ********* only purchased their intellectual properties, allowing for the name change.
The customer's complaint is with the former company.

We received Bed Bath and Beyond Gift Cards for our wedding and when I went onto the BB&B website to use them toward the purchase of furniture, it said the number was invalid. When I called the customer service number on the gift card for help, a woman answered saying she was BB&B customer care and and before hearing what I was calling about, she tried to pressure sell me into accepting a free life alert type of device just by giving her all of my personal info. The number is **************. Of course I hung up and then called the customer service number on the website which is **************. This rep told me that my gift cards can no longer be used because BB&B has closed all brick and mortar stores and is now is run by Overstock and their online service. I have been a loyal customer of both of these companies for many years but regardless, how is it reasonable or legal in anyway for this to occur? We were gifted quite a bit of money for our wedding via BB&B gift cards and now the old company gets to keep the money and the buyer (Overstock) does not have to honor them? The back of the gift card reads *********** fee or expiration dates are connected with the use of this gift card". The rep from ********* said that does not apply here because they aren't expired gift cards, they are gift cards that can no longer be honored. I feel that this should have been handled (especially at this level of a merger/buyout). All I want is to be able to use the dollar amount gifted to us by our friends and family toward purchases on items through BB&B or even Overstock at this point. Or refund the people that gave us the gift cards. This occurred on 6/3/24 at 7pm.Business Response

Over the past year, since Bed Bath and Beyond went bankrupt and cancelled my card, the balance of which I paid off, I have been billed for purchases I never made. I have called them and written to them . Here is what I sent them this morning:"I have told you repeatedly over the past year that I have not had a BBB account since you filed for bankruptcy and canceled my card. I have called and written to you. You have confirmed via phone that I do not have an account. Yet, I get a bill every month and the balance goes up. I am reporting this to the better Business Bureau so I am not held accountable for any delinquency."
