I am continually bothered by Trinity Solar Salespeople, all times of the day, not only repeatedly ringing my doorbell, but aggressively knocking on both my front and side doors of my home. Additionally, there are signs clearly marked on both sides of my property that state NO TRESPASSING AND NO SOLICITING as well as signs by my doorbells that state WORK AT HOME IN PROCESS, DO NOT RING DOORBELL OR KNOCK.I have also told them to get off my porch and they will continue their sales pitch. My next step is to call the police since my property is clearly marked and they are violating my privacy.I want this issue reported to Trinity Solar. I feel like I am being harassed in my own home.Business Response

In 2015 Trinity Solar installed solar panels on my roof. It is now 2023 and I need a new roof. I have reached out to both Trinity Solar and ************* about having the panels taken down and reinstalled to No Avail. Trinity Solar told me they would not do the job unless they got the roofing job also. ******* tells me someone will call me back that they have to refer the job to a third party contractor. In the contract it says They, Sunnova are responsible for finding the 3rd party or you have to.get approval from them to find your own. It has been over two months and several phone calls later and Ive yet to hear back from anyone. I am an elderly widow with a leak in my roof and a roofing contractor thats been contracted being held hostage by these two companies. I dont think I am asking for anything out of the scope of service these companies say they provide. Please help.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Trinity Solar is the 3rd party company initially contacted by ******** to perform the job. They refused the job unless they did the entire roof replacement at a cost of over ****** dollars. 7 or 8 thousand dollars more than the company I have contracted. Trinity is Sunnovas Choice. So yes it sounds good but it does not help this situation. I did tell them no to the roof but I still need the removal of the panels. They can take them off and keep them. I no longer want any dealings with either Trinity Solar or ************** This is a racket full of misleading lies.

We have solar panels on our house that we got Jan 21 they put 15 on the roof, and the panels have never worked properly. We have been trying to express to the company since that these panels do nothing for the bill. Every time we call there is no answer, you have to leave a message for a call back and no one calls you back for days until you call several times leaving messages. When someone finally calls backache time all they ask for is 12 months of bills so they can evaluate. You wait for days before anyone calls you back and it's another person that knows nothing about what you spoke about with the previous rep about. After 2 years of feeling like this company is taking your money and constantly sending PSEG bills they advised us that we need to put additional panels on the roof to resolve the matter. In July 2023 they came out to put 8 panels on the roof. The additional panels are not working and when calling them several times they have sent their technician out several times. I'm now being charged even more money from Sunnova which they have advised me that they cannot give me any credit and cannot remove the panels from the roof. Im paying PSEG the full amount of electricity for the month as well as paying Trinity/Sunnova for panels that DO NOT WORK. Spoke to Sunnova that advised me that I should have produced a certain amount and these panels received half, also that the ne 8 panels are not producing anything and not working. I call Trinity and again you can only leave a message. Today I'm writing this is Thursday and I called them on Monday. At this point the only solution would be for them to come and get these panels off my roof and close this contract as I'm paying for equipment that doesn't work. Their customer service is horrendous, the only time they want to speak with you and call back is if they are making a sale. I've called PSEG and they advised that the panels cannot be working properly because for the amount of electricity used within month the amount they charged was a full bill. This is what has been going on for the 3 years we have had them. Im assuming next it will be put more panels to solve the problem and charge more money and the problem will still be the same and I'm going more in debt. This is so unfair as it almost feels like a PONZI scheme to take people money for something that doesn't work, but makes the customer believe they saving money when they're not. They have the ability to control what these panels do and mine hasn't work since they out them up. I'm still waiting for them to explain why every time you call them you have to give 12 months of PSEG bills and then they can't explain WHY these panels are not producing what they are suppose do to be producing. I've called Sunnova who I pay the bill too every month and they tell me I have to call Trinity to find out why panels not working. Trinity has no answer and bounce you around to different people which you have to start all over again as to why you called and nothing gets resolved. I really need for them to PLEASE take these panels off my roof.Business Response

We had a roof mounted solar system installed by Trinity in 2016. For the second time, our roof is leaking as a result of the installation. Per the contract which is now with Sunnova and appears to have been altered without our consent, we must have Trinity do the repair. Trinity however does not return calls, and ******* says we cant use anyone else. The water damage is getting worse with each storm. Trinity sold us this system and arranged the contract with *******. Trinity is the only company we can have do the repair per the contract Trinity gave us. We are captive consumers and are losing hope that we can get this repaired without going to court. We need a Trinity to honor their part and come do the repair in a timely manner. I am asking BBB for help because.Business Response

December of 2022 I signed a contract with Trinity solar to have panels put on the roof of my duplex that I had recently purchased. The panels were put on my property ********************** which is my tenants side. The salesman's name was *******************, at no time did he tell me that there was going to be a large chunk of money charged to my account on a monthly basis to have the panels on my roof. The panels were finally installed on my property I believe in July my tenant began receiving solar energy in August. My tenants account was charged $65 in September and is being charged $183.65 going forward each month to have the panels on the property. When I spoke to *********** he told me that he had left the company and was no longer able to assist me with this issue. At no time was I told there would be a charge to have the panels on my roof this high. I know of two other people who have the same company same panels and they are paying $70 a month to sonova. I would like the panel's removed from my property I believe that I was mislead I at no time was made aware there would be this much of a charge why would anyone in their right mind pay $200 a month to have something on their roof when their electric bill is only 111? Again we were misled and lied to.Business Response

We had Trinity come out in July and told us our 12 year old roof was in great shape to receive solar panels, although a home inspection 2 years previously said the roof needed replacing soon. We proceeded with the solar panels and immediately noticed significant sagging from the age of our roof. Trinity came out and installed collar ties in the roof. Soon after we had leaking in one of our boots and once again Trinity came out and caulked the area. Fast forward to two years later the boot started leaking again so we put in a call to a roofer who told us our roof was never installed correctly and that we never should have had the panels installed with the age and condition of our roof. Ive reached out to both Sunnova and Trinity and keep getting bounced around. Today I was told that ******* would charge over $7,000.00 to remove and reinstall the panels so our roofer could properly give us a new roof.We were tricked into getting panels on a bad roof and need a roof BEFORE winter, and we want ******************************** to cover the costs of R&R.Business Response

We had our solar panels installed in Dec 2022 and turned on in March 2023. When we met with a sales rep, he asked us for our highest electric bills and the system would be designed to meet these needs. He assured us that the system would meet 100% of our electrical requirements, if not more, unless our usages went up significantly. After the first few months, what he said was true. Then the summer months came, which are supposedly the highest usage and highest generating months. July was the first month that we had to pull from the grid. I called Trinity to ask if there was something wrong. After an evaluation (offsite) of the system, it was determined that the system was working normally and was exceeding expectations. This is where it was first explained that its not month to month evaluations of the system to determine success, but as long as it hits 11 mWh in the first year, then it met its expectations. When I told them this was not explained to us in this way, I was told our case would be escalated. No response for about a week or two before finally getting ahold of someone. At this time, ************ came in and it was the same issue. The supervisor repeated the same thing the original person did. When I showed them data from 2022 and 2023, showing that the usage was comparable for these two months (the months we provided bills for to design the system) and that the panels only provided 69% of our electricity, it was radio silence until I said I was making a BBB complaint. I was told the sales rep ****** would be in touch with me to discuss further, but no response after a week and all follow *** have been ignored. We feel weve been deceived. The system we were given does not meet our actual electrical needs, when we were told they would 100% be met. They claim they built the system off of 1 years worth of electric bills. They only had 2 months. We had not been in this house a year. If they did, they would know 11 mWh was not enough (**** in first year).Business Response

****************** Solar Consultant spoke to him on 10/9/23 to discuss his concerns and work to resolve them.
When we initially met **************, he did not have a full year of electric usage, which normally determines a customer's kWh needs and informs the ********************** system design that would most benefit them. To assist customers with less than 12 months of usage, best efforts are always made using a utility calculator. This provides usage estimates based on home details provided by the customer and is used to determine the largest system production their utility company will approve.
While the current usage in the home may be higher than estimates, every kWh that ************** is receiving from his solar system is at a significantly lower cost than what would have been charged by the utility. ************** is saving money, even if he has to purchase some additional power from the utility. There is always the option of adding more solar panels to ****************** system, which we've discussed, once his system has been energized for a full year.
We believe this solution satisfies ************** and we look forward to the continued conversation on that anniversary date. We will remain available for any solar needs he might have.Customer Answer

I had a system recently installed and was told that it would produce more electricity than I would need. I was told that it would produce 104% of the electricity I need. Turns out the salesman lied. My system is not producing enough. It's only guaranteed for 80% of what I need. I am now stuck paying both the solar company and electric company more than I was before I got the system installed. I would like the issue to be resolved and my system to produce the needed amount otherwise, I want a full refund and to return the system.Business Response

Trinity Solar's **************** contacted ************** on 9/11/23, 9/18/23, 9/19/23, and 9/20/23, leaving voicemails with each call. ****************** solar system is performing as designed and without issue.
************** signed a loan agreement with Sunnova which provides him with an estimate of kilowatts hours that his solar system will produce based on his prior 12 months energy usage. Further, the agreement guarantees a certain number of kilowatt hours, which if not reached, Sunnova will credit his account.
