I have lived in my home for over 7 years. When we bought the home, we were told that we had this propane company but, we owner our tank. I was never charged rental fees. When I called to inquire about new service, I was never asked or told about any of the services they offer. I was just put on budget billing. The problem with budget billing is, they decide when they want to come fill your tank. About two years ago, I decided I was finished and just wanted them to come remove the propane from my tank and be done. That is when a whole boat load of c*** unfolded. I was told that it actually was not my tank. I then told them they would need to come excavate the tank. I asked for documentation that this was not my tank, and they told me some how information was copy and pasted over my account that was not mine. Pretty sure there is a law that breaks, but... After this, for a whole year. they sent me a bill amount that was owed every month. One bill said $497.00. Another said $1596.00. One bill said $711.00. And then they also tried to charge me for the tank at $510.00. I am not arguing the fact that I owed them money. I did! But, how much was that exactly? Because there is not a single bill that matches up. In September of 2023, I received a phone call from a man who identified himself as a lawyer (he was a collection agent). Telling me I had 30 days to pay a settlement offer of $1000.00 or they were going to start with court proceedings. I have paid the $1000.00, I now have the bill of sale, and I no longer have ties to this terrible company. But, I will be taking legal proceedings of my own. With this company and with the collection company they decided to use. Suburban is also almost $1.59 higher in price per gallon than any other propane agency out there. This is highway robbery and this business should not be allowed to operate. I felt as if I have been in an abusive relationship for over two years and I am finally free. Do yourself a favor. Stay far away!Suburban Propane, L.P.

The account was turned over to an agency in July for non-payment. We did not hear another word until the agency got involved and negotiated a settlement offer, which we accepted. The billing is accurate (a budget plan where no payments were made in nearly a year). Customer now owns her tank.Review fromDutch D

When you buy a house that has a Suburban Propane tank buried underground, you have to pay a rental fee (last year 2022, it was like 13 bucks) for that tank if you are using it. This year it's ***** for rental fee.. Yes, I know everything has been inflated this year so they are jumping onboard and charging people more for a tank that is depreciating in value. This is just another way for them to price ***** you and there's nothing you can do about it unless you have the tank removed... Such a scamSuburban Propane, L.P.

We are meeting him in the middle with a charge of $25 this year as a one-time courtesy, accompanied with a note on his account that he had been made aware of the charge moving forward. ************************** accepted the agreement and thanked us once again.Suburban Propane, L.P.

I have never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism from a company in my life. We had to dispute so many payment charges from these people. The would show up at our house because they were in the area top our tanks off and then charge us a delivery fee. It was ridiculous. We would have in our charts for them to call us to check before they came and they would still come, wait in their car and then come out when they were sure no one was watching. My husband eventually caught on and would catch them to tell them to leave because we didnt need anything. This happened on many occasions. We got a bill from them today in our mail, that was due 3 days prior to receiving it, and they must have come by again when we werent home. Just so shady! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!Suburban Propane, L.P.

Our local manger spoken with **************** on 11/17/23 and thought we had it resolved. We adjusted his minimum bill in the amount of $71.42 as well as some late payment charges amounting to $3.54. Our last delivery there was on December 19,2022. We moved their next delivery back to October 31, **** and they are to call us if they need a delivery before that. They still have a balance due of $72.56 which is for the rental charge for the tanks. We left a message for them to call us back if there was anything else he needed.Review fromTaylor G

Wish I had come here before starting an account with **********************. POOR customer service/customer safety. I just had my first fuel delivery 10/23/2023. (Keeping in mind they have to inspect ALL equipment when becoming a new customer.) Needless to say, there was a leak. A MAJOR leak requiring the tank to be replaced because the *** cannot be turned off. The leak was reported at 1:52 pm on 11/4 after using my fireplace for the first time. The technician arrived 5 hours later after a disclaimer was read to me about the potentially dangerous situation I am STILL currently in and needed to be at least 100 yards from the leak. The technician told me someone would contact me first thing Monday to get this resolved. No word. I called today, Tuesday 11/8, and was told someone would have to come out Friday, three days from now!, to double check the issue. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Im sure if their family were in potential DANGER this would be handled with a little more urgency.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Worst company ! We purchased a new house in March and my husband works long hours. I was in ** packing up our old house. We paid our yearly rental fee and they wanted $149 for their fake safety check ( our home inspection showed it was working as it should)They locked the tank out because my husband wouldn't take a day off from work to stay and wait for a tech to come. Now they have our 100 + 149 still no use of the full tank our seller left us. They stated there will be no prorated refund. Charging us 150 to pick up + a fee for removing the fuel. I was told if there was anything left they would send us a check. The people are crooks. Save your money go elsewhere.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Terrible business. If you rent a propane tank from them they require only Suburban propane can fill it creating an unfair business practice. Free market allows me to call around and get the best price to fill my tank. Suburban says their customers can't do that. Then if you are late on the rental fee of $125 annually they don't notify you until after their tech comes out to your house and turns your gas off and then they notify you. I pay them an extra $100 to turn it back on the same day. All avoidable if they would communicate before coming out to turn gas off vs after. ************ that I want to avoid for the rest of my lifeSuburban Propane, L.P.

The customer paid the past due tank rent and the service was resumed. We never lock off a customer without providing them proper notice or for no valid reason. The customer has been instructed the rules as to the container law and that only we can fill our tank, not other companies.Review fromJo B

Terrible customer service. I had switched to them and they had delivered a tank with a leak. It took a week to get a new tank and I had to pay to replace the gas that had leaked out.Suburban Propane, L.P.

We would not be aware of a potential tank leak unless the customer notified us. Our driver took immediate action once we were put on notice. We will credit the 10 gallons to the account.Review fromLaura D

I recently cancelled Suburban Propane and went with another propane company. Suburban removed the tank October 12th with 40 gallons of propane still in it. I called them for a refund but they denied me said it was up to the new company that does not transfer from old tank to their new tank.Suburban said it's in the contract that they don't reimburse for gas left in their tank.I never saw a contract nor did I ever sign one.I'm now out of 200 dollars owed to me.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Pitiful! I had a tank nearly full and they STOLE the gas that belonged to me. How did they steal it? Well, I have plenty of gas/propane to do me a long time. They delivered less than 50 gallons of gas and topped off the tank. Leaving a bill over $300 on my front door. I never ordered the gas, they try to tell me its in the contract that we deliver once a year. WHAT CONTRACT?? I avent signed, nor seen a contract.. Well they show me a contract that an old girlfriend signed, BUT it wasnt even dated!!! Since I didnt give them $300+ for the gas they recently delivered, they put a LOCK on my tank. AND CHARGED ME FOR THAT! Well they came and got the tank with a full load of gas in it. One month later, (today) I call them and they said, (Its a wash.) I had over $750 of gas in that tank I already purchased!Suburban Propane, L.P.
