This is one year after purchasing my Hakes Brothers home. Firstly I will admit due to timing (military) the process was rushed and I should have paid more attention to the finer details when looking over the completed house. First, all the grout in the bathroom deteriorated in the first couple of months which Hakes fixed from a guy with a caulking gun. My kitchen sink leaked and caused some water stains/damage under the sink. The tile in the house is not level and constantly catch my foot on them walking around. Just recently I noticed my kitchen island is crooked, I got out to measure tape and one corner is an inch and a half out from the other corner. My backyard was a treasure trove of discarded construction materials and buried trash. Splattered concrete all over the front walkway, additionally the tile cut for my main bathroom is subpar and there are gaps in the bathtub spout. There are parts where they just painted over splots of drywall mud and in some areas, the paint looks like it was done by my kid. Just recently the stucco on the outside of my house fell off leaving lumber in my roof exposed and letting insects in and letting AC/heating escape. I had them add blinds and a couple of them don't even go down to the bottom seal. I can only imagine what I'll find looking in the attic. Do yourself a favor and hire a highly reputable home inspector, the quality of the build hardly justifies the price of the home. I'm sure I'll be paying quite a bit out of pocket to correct issues when it comes time to sell. I'm fairly confident I'll be finding additional issues contributing to the build quality of the house.

Hakes is a horrible builder. They will tell you anything to get you to commit. Empty promises broken deals they promise things but once you sign they cut the deal and promises made, they are shady ****** and will tell you anything to get you to sign! Even if you have in writing they refuse to follow through with promises made. I think this is a **** to keep peoples deposits. When you realize you have been scammed its too late. Either way you lose money your deposit or money that they promised in concessions that they lied about!,, RUN they are ******!

DO NOT BUY A HOUSE FROM THIS BUILDER. Simply read all the reviews from other buyers, as they are TRUE. We had many of the same issues and this company demonstrated PURE GREED and no resolution. Don't believe the many responses they posted either. They will NOT resolve their building issues, follow through on their warranty, but will absolutely continue to take advantage of buyers. They have been featured on the news for all their poor quality homes with lack of resolution with buyers and are currently in a class action lawsuit with many buyers for all the construction defects.

If I can give a zero star I would with a heart beat!! Their warranty is no good. I only have 4 years in this house and the foundation has moved a lot causing my house to crack. I contacted the construction manager and he sent out an inspector to inspect the foundation and even the inspector told me our foundation is bad and yet I get an email a month later from their warranty department stating that yes our house has shift but its not their problem! What??? Its a foundation problem but they wont fix it? The house is only 4 years old, I should not have to go through this. I am hiring my own inspector and a lawyer! Hakes brothers is breaking the rules! This is considered a neglect, I am not going to stay quiet! Please do not buy from them!! Their warranty is no good.

If youre in the market for mediocrity Hakes is the right builder for you. If youre looking forward to having most, if not all of your concerns dismissed or poorly addressed during the building process look no further. This is a builder who will constantly claim that their poor craftsmanship meets standards and that its not necessarily about customer satisfaction.

If it were possible to give negative stars, I would give -5. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. My family moved to NM 2 years ago and we spent close to 1 million dollars on 2 Hakes Brothers BRAND NEW homes. These homes are poorly constructed and the customer service is atrocious. Over and over we have to call for WARRANTY WORK. We get the run around constantly from our customer service warranty representative, ****** *********. He promises to get repair workers to our homes but we have to continue to call over and over again. The appliances that they charge an extreme premium for are ALL TRASH. Out of the 14 appliances between the 2 homes, over half have had to have service and 2 have already had to be replaced before they were 2 years old. Out of 14 brand new homes on our street, there isn't one home where the sliding glass can be easily opened. I had to have repair men out 3 times to work on it, and it still is very difficult to open. My windows were not sealed, had a house full of sand. My laundry room light broke in less than a year, we have been trying to get ****** ********* to send an electrician for 2 months but we just kerp getting the run around. If we had known how awful these people are WE WOULD HAVE TAKEN OUR MONEY TO A DIFFERENT BUILDER. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND THE HEADACHES AND FIND ANOTHER BUILDER

I bought a hakes home in 2021. The quality of work is very poor, especially the concrete work. May home patios and driveway are full of cracks. The cabinets are falling apart and the stain is comming off.I have lost several imitation stones from the front walls. The paint in the interior base boards is peeling. All these issues have gone unanswered. Be careful when buying a home frome hakes. Once you close you'll be on your own.

Never buy a Hakes home. Had we not been knowledgeable enough and had people come do private inspections and tell us what all was severely wrong with the entire house, wed be having a one year old home with roof leaks crumbling apart at the seams (it probably is on the very inside where we cant see, given how crooked and cheap Hakes is). The home was built lacking attention or concern for detail. The superintendent we had was *******************. We pointed out several issues with the home during the final walkthrough and demanded repairs. He dismissed a lot of unacceptable flaws including but not limited to paint splashed all over, concrete splashed all over, incomplete grout and tiling, grout splashed into the shower drain clogging it, a faulty garage door deal, a garage floor with dysfunctional concrete, incomplete crickets and seals on the roof, a window placed so poorly it wouldn't open or close, the wrong color of stucco painted around the window when replaced etc the list goes on. Upon ****** attempt to repair these things (he took it upon himself for a few projects), the end result was actually worse. He didn't wish to hire anyone capable of doing the job correctly. Hakes has a severe problem with identifying what is wrong with their homes due to the work not being done correctly the first time, and thus larger problems on repair. While the tile was repaired and many things were (because we are knowledgeable home owners), these are things that should have been done right the first time. Our shower tile was pooling water due to uneven tiles placed and they all had to be repaired. Hakes took shortcuts on the repairs and the workmen who came to do so were honest with us and informed us they were doing it how Hakes wanted them to, not how the correct work is supposed to be done. There are ethical issues with these people. NEVER buy a house from Hakes Brothers. Contact me and I will provide you with further details and information if you have any questions.

I originally was going to close on a Different Builder but unfortunately it didnt go through when I was introduced to Hakes Brothers. My wife loved the house and we closed on it. The warranty is NO GOOD FOR NOTHING. They dont respond and when they do its not covered according the ***************. He assured me things were going to get taken care of never acted let alone answer. I have several emails from broken welds to electrical problems, to cabinet to door problems they dont want to ***. My house isnt even a year old. I wish I would have closed on that Saratoga Home instead of this cheap lemon House. DO NOT BUY A HAKES BROTHERS HOME!! LOOK FOR ANOTHER BUILDER!!! Im stuck with this ??IM SELLING ASAP
