      Ordered a 19 in. 212cc 4-********** Garden Counter Rotating Rear Tine Tiller with Self-Propelled Agricultural Tires on March 05 from ********** online. Received the product March 15. Had to wait until our last freeze to start working in the garden, so April 20 finished assembling the product and ran the unit for less than an hour before gearbox quit. It is not binding due to soil or debris. All components are free of any debris. I see several other reviews on HD website with this problem, all unresolved (or left as 1 star with no update). ********** states they can not accept the return as its past the 30 days from ORDER date. Calling the number listed as the contact on Champions website delivers, "this call can not be completed" **************. Although the company claims to have a 2 year product warranty I am left with no options. I am purchasing another brand from a different store today.

      purchased july 14,2021.....paid $457.86.. opened box and started using 4/6/23..generator smokes like a chimney.....less than 100 hours on it........had it in to 1 of their service centers and they lied and said not smoking.....believe champion coached them on this.......now champion ignores my emails..told them i would send it back to them and they can replace with a refurbished or new unit...no response.........told me to go to another service center but they want money and reviews show they charge for warranty work....the other location they gave does not answer phone.............3 year warranty........champion had a batch of these that were defective......all over internet.....now they dont want to repair or replace......***** sold this defective generator and will not assist in any way......that makes them a party to the fraud of selling a defective product..............champion used to be good......no more...don't back their products anymore....cannot reach on phone and do not respond to emails.....plus direct you to fraud service centers.....no good..... i dont even want another champion product.........take the gen and refund money......

      I am rejecting this response because:the repair center lied and said it was not smoking............champion did nothing..............i sold the smoking generator for 200 after a few months of use............lost $257..............i will only buy their older generators..10 years +........the new ones are considered to be seriously compromised   as you can see from the reviews online...............they must have changed their china factories

      I need a new battery for my generator, I have sent 3 emails, 3 phone calls and 1 letter. They refuse to communicat with me. They have not returned any responses to my attempted communitcation's.

      Unfortunately, we do not have any recent records of communication with **************. However, we did receive an email in 2022 for a battery inquiry that we responded to. Our response how to purchase a replacement battery directly from our webstore, followed by pricing and availability. Please see attached.

      I bought a power generator from one of Champions authorized dealers, AKA Camping World also purchased the **************** warranty , and I used the Generator for about two weeks not as my sole source of power but for some outside tools. And by the 2nd week the pull string handle starter thing just snapped right of when I was trying to start it up. And so I called Champion as I was advised by Camping World, and not only did it take me 3 freaking weeks just to speak to an employee, and I left probably 32 different voicemails with 0 return calls, I had to wait on hold one day for like 5 hours and missed a whole day of work just to contact them, and when I did the lady that helped me said oh no problem that pull string starter thing is covered under the warranty we will send you a new one to put on, mind you I finally talked to an employee on February 1st 2023, it's now March 16th 2023 and I still have not received anything from your company, and because of your company costing me days worth of work because I didn't have a working generator I had to go buy a used ***** generator for $600, because I was loosing money on a daily basis waiting for my part to arrive that never did, im so mad at this point with your company all I want is to return this cruddy generator back, and I want my $400 I spent on it, and that's fair seeing as how I've missed days apon days of work because of your guys negligence, I will not except any other offer, besides the return and refund of this generator, I still have the original box and everything it was purchased with inside the box......

      We are reopening this case from 2023 as it appears to be an issue in the system that does not state the full details. We have several customer service channels to assist with both parts ordering and troubleshooting. Through these channels, you can request a call back as well to avoid holding during unusual wait times. 

      After reviewing the case, our records show that the generator was used excessively causing wear on the recoil string. The unit was operating commercially for several hours a week from 12/2022 to 2/2023, resulting in damaging the recoil. While wear and tear items are not covered under warranty, we assisted by providing a complete recoil assembly at no cost. Unfortunately, the package was lost in transit through **** which was something out of our control. To assist with this delay, we created a new order to ship via ***** 2 Day to get the issue resolved.

      I am rejecting this response because, after several attempts to contact this company within the warranty period,  about their defective generators I received 1 package in the mail that included the wrong size recoil system I needed for my generator. And after several days on hold with customer service and dealing with an insofistiont warranty on their products I finally gave up the fight and sold the peice of trash for half the price, WILL NEVER BUY CHAMPION ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. PERIOD....

      Two year old nearly ***** wood splitter. Have run into an incredible amount of issues with this machine, all logged on the Champion website. Second year when a O-ring went bad, called champion to get a replacement, response was, we have been manufacturing in ***** and don't know what engine you have so you need to buy a carburetor. Carburetor= $40 o-ring = 30 cents. I agreed to buy the carb and tech support said they would take care of me and as long as I covered shipping would send it out within two days. Here I am a week later still has not shipped and this weird O-ring is not cross reference-able. At ***** this is a joke and has put me in a very bad position. How is this acceptable for a company that distributes through *************

      We are very sorry to hear this. Our records show that the log splitter is now 3 years old, not 2 years, as previously stated. While we understand the frustration, it is required to help properly maintain the parts of the machine to avoid running into a similar issue. The rubber o-ring can break from old gasoline, which is not abnormal if left untreated. However, we wanted to help in any way possible even after the warranty has expired. This is why a free carburetor assembly was sent. Unfortunately, if the carrier experiences in a delay in delivering the item, this is something out of our control. We sincerely apologize inconvenience that this may have caused you, and hope that the carburetor helped resolve the issue.

      It is simply ridiculous to expect to have to purchase a entire carburetor to replace a 15 cent part. Your technician I spoke to was amazing and I hope he is well taken care of. He actually sent me a O-ring from a ******** model which worked. Your correct that this is a part that can and will need replacement over time. I have boats, quads, side by sides and many power tools which take O-rings and I have never had to purchase an entire carburetor for a simple o ring replacement. Champion did send me a carburetor and a O ring to try out and I thank you for this. You do need to offer O rings and other components that are subject to determination over time rather than the waste of so much
      Materials in an entire carburetor replacement.

      We believe that there is a system issue as we have internally closed this case on our end after working with the customer direct. Our records show that the customer has experienced repeated issues with his carburetor which is related to maintenance. Below you will find our interactions between CPE and **************: 

      - Customer purchased a ****** log splitter on 9/28/2019.
      - 6/26/2020 Customer purchased a carburetor and gaskets.
      - 8/29/2022 The customer requested an o-ring for his carburetor. We provided the o-ring and a free carburetor, and he agreed to pay for shipping
      $8 since we were supplying the parts at no cost. 
      - Most recently, on 10/12/2023, the customer called to purchase another carburetor. 

      Maintenance to help treat the carburetor to prevent corrosion is not a manufacture defect and it is not covered under warranty. However, we assisted the customer with a one time courtesy parts order. We have marked this case as resolved on our end and have moved forward since the initial BBB notification in August of 2022.
