Our internet options in our rural NE Iowa location are limited. We switched from Direct TV to Gigfire (LTD at the time.). When it works it is fine but when it goes out expect to spend hours on hold with customer service, weeks without service and no communication from the company in regards to what is going on.
TWO WEEKS without internet! Our frustration level is maxed out! We are getting nowhere with the issue. A week ago I emailed customer support and have received no response. GigFire assures us that our issue has been "escalated". Pretty sure that means nothing at this point.
The customer service reps have a scripted response that is the same for all issues. It rained two weeks ago and the "weather you experienced in your area" caused large scale outages.
GigFire is not working for us so we will continue to look elsewhere!

We had LTD Broadband and then GigFire service for roughly 4 years. I was initially impressed with the price. They didn't raise rates on us over the 4 years, so that was nice. The coverage started off pretty decent but gradually there were more and more glitches and there was a noticeable shift in customer service after they became Gigfire. We paid in full each year. I ended service in July 2024 because we were expanding from needing personal internet to business internet in several locations on our property. Gigfire couldn't help us and they were difficult to work with to get a quote. When they finally did get us a quote it was outrageous and did not meet our needs. We ended up going with local company for fiber. Gigfire was supposed to collect their routers and refund us around $300 for coverage for the half a year of service we paid for. This process was supposed to take up to 12 weeks and it has been over 5 months. I have called and chatted with a rep and receive the same line about emailing the refund department to expedite. They don't have phone numbers or any other way of contacting the refund department nor is there anyone else to get ahold of in the company to address this. That has red flags of being scammy. Even if I do receive a refund, I would NOT recommend their service.

The service itself of gigfire is short of phenomenal, the problem I have with them, is that they have such potent service for a reasonable price but the equipment they use is probably the. Cheapest out there, so much so that when I saw the modem brand I was like Who is VILO I had to google it. And their equipment is terrible, slow, buggy, etc. So you end up calling customer service and you end up with a technician handling 4 or 5 calls at a time so you get put on hold shortly 5 minutes for every sentence... I spent the better part of my first year as customer calling them.... switching modems and getting nothing fixed, until I got fed up with those less than desirable modems they want to use, I ended up my own high speed gaming modem $800 and since I plugged in my new raptor my internet doesn't even slow down or disconnect unless there is a bad storm, all it looks is buying my own equipment, and that sums up my experience this server with a high quality modem puts to shame any other company with its price and speed 1gb@$70 but sadly the equipment they use simply can't handle their own service. Is sad.

We sincerely regret that our standard installation equipment did not meet your expectations. After reviewing your comments, we understand that:
You were not happy with the Vilo routers provided and opted to purchase your own more powerful single routers.
While our Vilo mesh system is suitable for many environments, we acknowledge that your specific needs require enhanced performance. Your choice of a tri-band router with increased bandwidth capabilities is a valid solution for your situation.
We appreciate your feedback and would like to address any remaining concerns. Our goal is to ensure you have the best possible internet experience. Please let us know if there's anything further we can do to improve your service or if you need any assistance with your new equipment setup.

Worst... Customer... Service... That... You... Can... Imagine... Period. ZERO STARS, no actually negative stars, they owe us stars. It's all good when your service is working, but just wait till it goes out. You will get on the phone with them and they will put you on hold while they reach out to "dispatch." They will return and tell you dispatch will call. When pressed as to when the call will occur, they will obfuscate and be non-specific. When pressed harder they will say sometime during business hours over the next week or so. By the way, when you are on hold they play an awful little tune and gets louder as you hold and becomes can only be described as static forcing you to turn down the speaker. They will then return to the line and you can barely hear them. The whole thing is cleverly designed to get you off the line. Assurances are made and nothing happens. They prey on folks that have limited options. They have very little local presence and rely on soliciting local contractors that may or may not accept the job. They will tell you that they have a standard operating procedure that they must follows in order to get you service, but I can tell you it is designed to make you go away and leave them alone. I am not a chronic person who leaves negative reviews, but I felt compelled to protect the public on this one. STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS.

Just canceled my service with Gigfire to learn that though I am not in a contract, by canceling my service before the date I pay my annual fee, I am charged a $150 cancelation fee. If I were a month to month (again, no contract) I would not be charged this. Hum, it's more like a penalty on a loyal customer who pays a year in advanced. ********************** internet has always been horrible internet service. I even had to call them to have my service (which was OLD) updated to a new speed (which they never contacted me to update) and it still was horrible internet. They had our neighborhood of 4 houses all bouncing off of our one neighbors tower because they said we didn't have a clear signal to the tower ourselves. I asked where the tower was located and they suspiciously told me they could not tell me that information. We were kinda locked into only this service for the longest time due to our location and the lack of other providers, But now, we have options and I can tell you to avoid at all costs, if possible, using Gigfire. I am sure after reading the other reviews I am not holding my breath on the little refund I am expecting.

I canceled my service over 13 weeks ago and have yet to get my refund. I paid yearly and because of that they are charging me a $150 cancelation fee, which does not make sense because if they invested properly they would have made money on me for paying ahead. I have called numerous times and just get the same answer, 'we will send an email to the refund department.' They will not give me a number to call or email to this 'refund department'. They do not even deserve 1 star. This has been the worst experience!

I would never recommend this company. I canceled my service over 90 days ago and requested a refund. They charged me a $150 cancelation fee and I have yet to receive the refund. I have called at least 6 times (approximately every other week). I keep getting the run around about "it was sent to the refund department and is pending". From my perspective, they are a bunch of crooks! Stay away!

I had the service for multiple years **** Broadband then GigFire). I had repeated issues with slower than paid for speeds over a long period of time, multiple connection issues, called multiple times, never had the issues resolved. I cancelled the service September of 2023. I was expecting to be refunded the rest of the 6 months as I pay annually. Now April 2024, I still have not got any refund, there is no timeline to resolution following multiple phone calls, and I have now resorted to filing complaints with the State Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. Reading the company's ****** reviews seem to show my experience is, unfortunately, the experience of others as well. I would give "zero stars" if it was an option, my experience has been that bad. I would not suggest this company to anybody.

Terrible service. Terrible customer support. If they cant fix your internet with new routers or countless trials of unplugging and plugging equipment in, they just give up and let you deal with the internet cycling on/off every ten minutes. My experience the past 2 months.
