I continue to receive this txt from F. N. C. B. N. V. a debt collection agency, although I have called them and spoke with rep: ***** *., who previously told me that my name matches the person in their collection files but my birthday does not. He said they would remove my telephone # from their files as I am not the correct person. . I do not have any outstanding debt from whom they claim or otherwise and want this error on their part corrected as my credit and credit score may be adversely affected by their mistaken debt collection report and attempt to collect this bogus debt from me. . This is the txt that I have continually received in the past 12 months. My Name,
This is F.N.C.B.N.V.,Accounts Receivable Specialist. Contact us about Ref# xxxxxxxxx. Visit *********** or call **********. Reply STOP to opt out.

      Hi ******* -

First National Collection Bureau, Inc. has received your complaint and reviewed the file.  There was another file that was placed with us back in 2024, where ***** *. did remove your number.  This new file came over with your number again.  I have removed it and put it on the do not call table. This will eliminate any additional files that come over with the wrong number.

      Sincerely,

      First National Collection Bureau, Inc.

I am rejecting this response because it does address the fact that the three major credit bureau's may have been notified and  given false information about the debt being mine. Also,  my phone number was removed and put on the "Do Not Call List" in 2024 by Edward J., so is this an ongoing problem that will continue to happen every time a "new file" is received at First National Collection Bureau, Inc. ???  I do not want to only receive the communication txt that I have outstanding debt in Collection, but I want the issue of my phone number, address, and identity  removed permanently from being linked with someone else's debt and need FNCB to reach  out to wherever the "new files" are coming from to resolve the issue at its root.  I appreciate being my number being removed from the list, but I need my personal information UNLINKED to another person with the same name and their debt, or at least give me the details on where the "new files' FNCB receive come from and I will contact them myself, to ensure this does not continue going forward and effect my credit bureau rating and  FICO Scores.  Thank you.

      Sincerely,

      ******* **********

      Dear Consumer,

There is no personal information of yours tied to any file in our office.  It is a wrong number being placed on the file.  When you called in last year, ***** removed your number and did not state he was placing on the "do not call" list.  Once it is placed on the do not call list, any attempt to call it will be blocked by our system.

Since you are not the person that the file(s) belong to I cannot provide you information about our client.

      Sincerely,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 23437862, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, but I fail to understand how you can say you have no personal information on me, when you have connected my phone number to another person with the same or similar name.  It seems to me that your company needs to get all its ducks in a row.

This company calls from a spoofed number, multiple times at once until you answer, using different numbers from your area code. When you do answer they blast on hold music for over a minute. When you finally get a human they want you to verify personal information without telling you who is calling (business name). When you finally get a employee to tell you the business name they want you to verify personal information by only answering "yes". Will not answer yes to a person trying to get a "yes" or to conceal the entity identity.

1st National Collection Bureau called me trying to collect an alleged debt on behalf of Distressed Asset Portfolio. I have no agreement with either party nor have received any paperwork from them. Currently, the debt they're claiming to have ownership does not say it is owned by either of these parties (it says it is owned by *************** for, which I also dispute and will include in a separate complaint). Essentially, I have 3 different parties claiming to have ownership of this debt and/ or are trying to collect, all of which are hurting my credit. I have no contracts with them nor have received info from them other than **** calls during work hours. I would like to note I will be copying and pasting this paragraph for the other 2 complaints against the parties.

      Complaint: 23066580

I am rejecting this response because:

I spoke with a *** from Unifund to confirm this that First National Collection is collecting on behalf of ********, and he provided me the phone # ************** to call First National. (On the same date) I called the number at 1:31 PM and ended the call at 1:47 PM. During the call, I spoke with a gentleman to discuss payment arrangements in good faith (after Unifund cleared up the confusion about how First National is associated). I brought up the term "cents on the dollar" in terms of negotiating a settlement, as this is a common way of speaking in terms of debt settlement. I offered 23 cents on the dollar, and the best he claimed to be able to provide was 50 cents on the dollar. There was back in forth in terms of negotiating (cordial on my part and not his). Towards the end of the call, I stated "If we can't get down to the 23 to 30 cent range I don't think we can come to an agreement today". He sarcastically and aggressively ***lied to my claim, saying something along the lines of (p "will gets some cents (sense) knocked into you". He was using the word play of "cents" and "sense" to make an abusive ********* to me.

Under Prohibited Practices - Harassing, Oppressive, or Abusive Conduct - 12 CFR *******, "A debt collector may not engage, in any conduct the natural consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. For example:
      - USE OR THREATEN TO USE VIOLENCE or other criminal means to harm the physical person, ***utation, or property of any person.
      - Use obscene, profane, or other language, that abuses the hearer or reader.

The *** with First National used the word play or "Cents" and "Sense" to state I will get sense knocked into me due to not agreeing to his terms. This phrase "knocking sense" is commonly known as a physical threat to correct a perceived thought. The ***'s ********* was a violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as well as unprofessional and not conducive to resolving matters like these. I encourage First National to listen to the call between me and their *** on 03/18/25 from 1:31 PM to 1:47 PM.

I want First national/ Unifund to cease collection efforts altogether and remove the account on my credit ***ort.

      Sincerely,

      **** **********

Fraudulent tactics. Uses a voice over internet protocol technology with Bandwidth.com that allows them to mask their real phone number to use a fake phone number using your local area code so you'll answer their calls. They leave voice-mail messages where the caller uses a murmured voice where you can't even understand what they say. Scammers. They send text messages without ever obtaining consent. Fraudulent company and illegal activity.

Phone number keeps calling me, I finally called number back, it was this company, I selected #3 to have my number removed, some guy answered with hello, I asked to be removed from the calling list, and he just went radio silence, he did not hang up, but even after saying hello, are you there several times I got nothing, but I could hear him breathing on the other end. This company is ridiculous and must not want their money too bad considering they can't even leave a message of what they are calling about.

      Hi ****** -

First National Collection Bureau, Inc. has received your complaint and have reviewed the file.

All call recordings begin recording when an agent picks up the line and begins to speak.  I do see an inbound call, but the system flagged the call as a hang up - there is no call recording due to an agent not picking up.  When the option to remove the phone number is utilized the system does not direct to a live person.  I apologize and wish that I can say what happened here.

I have placed your phone number on the "do not call / do not text" table and you will not receive any additional calls from our office.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
