My son's accnt was overdrafted so without any notice, ********* pulled over $500 from my accnt to cover his overdraft. Here I am thinking I have money in the accnt to pay my mortgage. When I noticed that money was taken from my accnt under the description of "Personal Care & Fitness" I assumed fraud. When I called ********* to report it, they told me their Loss mitigation dept made the decision to do an offset (and not tell me).
They claim to have been voted number one in banking for the capital district. I can tell you here what they are really number one at but I don't wish to use profanity in this format. I switched to *** for better or worse. Be proactive and find another bank, any bank, this one is ..............

I have been a member of SEFCU for close to 40 years. I had two fraudulent transactions occur on my debt card in June. The bank stopped my card immediately which was a good thing. I was told that a new card was being sent out to me. They sent the card to my old address that I haven't lived there in five years. They then sent me another one which was supposed to be expedited in two to three days. Six days later I still did not get the card. I have now been told that the proper paperwork that the bank was suppose to fill out, was not filled out for the expedited card. So now yet another card is being sent to me in 1-2 days. I am very upset. What is going on with this new take over with Broadview????

I went into SEFCU at *** South Pearl St to deposit some money. I didn't have a mass at the moment and I felt like a senior staff yelled at me for not wearing a mask. I felt insulted for not having a mask and asked why the bank didn't have a mask as usual. They then give me a mask and I continue to handle my business with the teller. During my transaction I was doing some small talk with the teller and I mentioned the women behind (teller senior Rep) need to stop yelling at me because she's not my mom. While talking she must've over heard me and was heading to the counter where I was doing my transaction with the teller. I left my money on the counter as I saw she was going to say something to me and all I wanted was to avoid it. I just wanted to avoid the confrontation. As she already insulted before in front all of the customers standing in the line.
I then called credit union customer service as soon as I left to explain what just happened. I told them I wanted to file a complaint on the representative I dealt with at the branch as I felt like she handled business wrong and racially profiled me. After explaining how this made me feel on Pearl St. They asked how much money I left on the counter and such. They apologize for the situation and assure me they'll look into it. The next morning or the following morning I received something in the mail box from the Sefcu credit union. Basically banning me from going to their premises and also banning me from calling them.
The only reason I know this is because I actually opened the mail a few months later. All this happened due to the incident that occurred the day I went to the bank without a mask and filed a complaint. I try to ignore the letter I received because I couldn't believe a credit unit is discriminating against and retaliating when being called out. I have Two (2) Auto Loan, One (1) Person Loan, One (1) Secure Credit Card and One (1) Regular Credit Card. This bank is the most RACIAL BANK IN ALBANY NY

The worst banking institution I've ever dealt with. I closed an account that was drawing from a ******* account. After the account was closed the SEFCU account still drew money. I called to have the money returned and I have been given the run around 3 times now about where the money is and why it has not been returned to my account. This is absurd, its been over a week where the money has not been returned to my ******* account.

Zero would be given if I could. First the charges for overdraft fees when there is funds in the acc. Is insane, but the justifications they try to give for them is worse. I was told a members acc statement is not actually the right/legal ledger it’s just there for reference (online banking is not correct the banks ledger THEY have is correct)
I was then told that they would never and have never committed fraud when I pointed out what they were doing is a form of fraud.
I know for a FACT Sefcu has committed fraud. During Covid I damaged my **** in their parking lot I was contacted by a higher up at Sefcu a Mr. Daniel R***** who I was made to feel almost forced to go along with his hush hush scam to cover the cost. He decided he did not want to go through either insurance company and I wouldn’t have to sign anything that he would just forward the cash funds into my acc for the damages once I got the bill for it to be fixed. Which I did but also spent days and days without a vehicle that screwed me as well. What Mr. R***** and Sefcu did is and was a form of fraud and I did not realize this until I had spoken to my insurance company about stil having issues with my front end. Run don’t walk before dealing with them!

I have been a customer for over 20 years. Now I can no longer access my account online because they have incorrect information and refuse to change it via the phone even after verifying my identity 5 different ways. The last few month they have become extremely difficult to work with even in the branches. The tellers at 2 different branches have given me the wrong amount of money and not in the dinomination asked for. They have really gone down hill as a bank.

Been a customer for over 10yrs. The past 2 months have been the worst. Pending charges dissappear and funds become available again then randomly taken out 6 days later potentially leading to overdrafts. Going to a different credit union.

after being granted to be the admin of my mother's estate on 9/21. Sefcu was notified on 9/24 when I spoke with the manager at the Clifton Park branch. I was assured my mother's accounts were fine and nothing would happen without my consent as admin of the estate. On 9/28 my sister fraudulently filed form claiming no estate was set up and that she is the only known survivor. All of which was false and fraudulent. Sefcu allowed her to close out the accounts of over 10k, They did not due diligence and did not protect my mother's accounts. Their manager did not notate the account, did not want to take any copies of my estate paperwork. So, you can apparently walk into a branch with a false form and a death certificate and close anyone's accounts???? I cannot get anyone from there to contact me as I'm told their loss mitigation is not client facing.
