I would give zero stars if that was an option. Absolute worst experience ever with a Health insurance company getting any kind of answers. They string you along and give you no feedback. Awful.Meritain Health

I was diagnosed with psorisis 9 years ago. I used to have ****** Healthcare and finally they.put me on *******. It worked great . Then the company I work for was bought out and my insurance changed to Meritain Health. Now I have been trying gor over a year to get a medication to help my psorisis and they won't approve anything that helps! I keep hoing round and round in circles between the pharmacy, the doctors office and the insurance over and over again. Whsts the point of paying so much for insurance if you can't get the meds you need!!!! I'm so frustrated!Meritain Health

Meritains FSA program, especially the website to deal with claims is criminally useless. When you get claim rejections they come to you inbox. They are not linked in any way to the actual submissions where you can see exactly what the claim was, so you have to be a super sleuth to figure out how to resubmit each claim. There is no option to dispute something they rejected. They clearly do this on purpose in order to make it difficult to get your money back. Its awful. I'm pretty intelligent and tech savvy and I struggle.Meritain Health

I have had several phone calls as well as emails with Meritain's customer care department regarding an invalid deductible on my healthcare plan. As of the last call on with a supervisor two months ago, I was assured that The deductible and out of pocket maximum would be removed and the claims would be revisited, however this has not yet occurred, and I am still shown as liable for those amounts.
The history is that my former Meritain policy where I was a dependent under my husband's policy was in effect until my husband became Medicare eligible (using ***** for prior two months). At that time, a new policy number was assigned to only myself to remove my husband from the policy, and another deductible and out of pocket maximum was added, despite the fact that we had already met the family deductible on the previous policy and more than 90% of the out of pocket expense. The additional deductible and out of pocket expense should not have been added as we did not ask for a new policy and it makes no sense to add another individual deductible just because my husband was removed from the plan.
This is all in addition to the billing for ***** being at a higher rate than we agreed to when signing up for *****, with no explanation despite several requests in writing to explain the increased amount. They are EXTREMELY unresponsive.Meritain Health

The absolute worst insurance company I’ve ever had in my life. They truly do not deserve to even be in business and to think they have been doing this to people who depend on them for their health care needs for 37 years is outrageous! My daughter who is a child had a regular check up at her pediatrician who gave my daughter her regular immunization shots that every child is required to have in order to even be able to attend regular public school. On top of the shots she received a physical for color guard and a regular check up for her ADHD. All of which have always been approved by any other insurance company and also been approved previously by Meritian themselves in the past whenever they appointments where done separately. For some reason the appointments are all done at the same time during the same appointment and they deny the payment. The doctors office called me left me multiple voicemails frustrated that they have submitted the claim multiple times and Meritian still Denies the claim every time. Meritian says they needed me to submit a form that they never sent me as proof of no other insurance coverage. Like I said they never sent me this form but they have the 800 number on their review of claims page to call if you wasn’t sent a form. I called this number on 3 separate occasions spoke to a representative 3 different times answered the same questions that they ask you in place of the form 3 different times and each time the rep resubmitted the claim in attempts to get my daughters doctor paid. But yet every time after being resubmitted they deny it again saying that they have not received this form that they never sent me back in November 2022 and each time it says 3rd and final notice 4th and final notice that if I do not submit this form or call and answer the questions with a rep from the 800 provided they will permanently deny payment. The bill is over $900 I can’t pay I’m a full time single parent and this insurance is through my union!!! Wtf!!Meritain Health

Pretty poor support over the phone. The representative wouldn't/couldn't look up a list of benefits, told me no appeal could be made on insurance's part, nor would she simplify language rather than speaking in medical terms. She never did any of that.
Additionally, the coverage I had was very expensive and we paid out of pocket for almost everything. They wouldn't cover literally any of an ER visit, and this was under a mid-tier plan which was over $1,000 per month. Poor coverage, unhelpful representatives and confusing policy plans make this company a definite skip. You would be better with someone else for marketplace, someone that cares, or at least pretends to be helpful.Meritain Health

1 starWorst experience ever. No manager, no supervisor, no phone number, no answers. Huge deductible, paid and wasted when they denied surgery at the last minute. Testing, specialists, all out of pocket, denied by non medical robots for a non medical reason. They always ask for a good call back number, but no one in this company can make an outgoing call. Even when they disconnect members on hold. 6800.00 out of pocket, for me. Millions coming in for them.Review fromKelly N

Meritain and *** Caremark are big companies tricking working people. Please explain why I would be required to pay for at home COVID test if I ordered the test from *** Caremark, I would have to pay out of pocket, submit a receipt to be reimbursed?
When I contacted ***, I received pitiful excuses. "*** cannot bill for the COVID test to Meritain." Seriously, we are in modern times. Software can be created.
I contact Meritain. I was told to go to a government site to get the free test. Seriously. I pay for my insurance but told by the people I pay-Meritain to get what I need from the government.
My company changed to Meritain to help them. It was not to help the employee.Meritain Health
