I honestly dont get why ALLIED ACCT is reporting this debt under my name because I dont owe them anything. I never signed anything with them, and when I asked for a copy of the original application, they didnt even bother to provide it. Its frustrating because this is hurting my credit for no reason, and its just not fair. How can they just put something on my report without any proof?Account No: ******** Amount Disputed: $2023Business Response

Allied Account Services sent me a fraudulent debt notice saying I owed National Grid/mass $32,261.96 for an address in ************* under a #********** account. I do not live in *************, do not own property in ************* nor do I have a National Grid account. Furthermore, my credit has been locked for the past decade, so there's not a chance that a new account has been added to my personal credit portfolio without my knowledge.I have sent this debt collection agency a certified letter asking them to validate this debt (prove that it's mine) but instead "******" called my number on March 31, 2026 at 1:20 Eastern and rudely insisted on getting my information instead of honoring my request under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She attempted to tell me the debt was mine because the account holder had the same name as me! How many people in my city alone has the same, extremely common, name??? Where's the proof that I have entered into a contract with *************/mass??This is absolutely ridiculous and unlawful, but I see from other BBB complaints that fraudulent practices is common to Allied Account Services and their client, National Grid. I will be pursuing this matter with my state's attorney general and following up with **** for future disputes, but I wanted to make a complaint here to alert others who may have received the same erroneous debt letter as a result of this agency's sloppy methods.Business Response

I check my credit monthly and today came across a notice that I had been sent to collections by National Grid to Allied Account Services. I was under the impression that I had paid my outstanding balance months ago when I had moved out of the residence with the auto-pay feature. I had not gotten any emails or mail sent to my new address regarding this issue. No calls were received from ************* about an outstanding balance either. I had deleted the National Grid application off my phone since I am no longer using their services. Nothing has ever been received in writing regarding this supposed collection either, and I want this off my credit report. If there is a balance I wouldve been happy to pay it off if I was ever notified in the last 6 months since I have moved out of my prior residence.Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am filing a formal complaint against Allied Account Services regarding the fraudulent reporting of an alleged debt on my credit report. This company has falsely claimed that I owe $1,363 under an account that I have no knowledge of and have never authorized.I have never entered into any agreement, contract, or transaction with Allied Account Services. Their actions violate both the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by reporting inaccurate and unverified information to credit bureaus.I have contacted Allied Account Services to dispute this debt and have requested proper validation, including:1.Proof of their legal authorization to collect this debt under 15 USC 1692(e) and (f).2.The legal basis for their collection efforts.3.Proof of their authorization to operate in my state.4.Documentation of the original contract or agreement bearing my signature.5.A full account history detailing any charges, payments, and transactions.Despite my request, they have failed to provide proper documentation proving that this debt is valid. Instead, they continue to report this fraudulent account, causing harm to my credit and violating my consumer rights. Their actions also violate multiple provisions of the ****** including 1692d, 1692e, 1692g(b), and 1692f.I am requesting that the BBB take action against Allied Account Services and demand the immediate removal of this fraudulent account from my credit report. Additionally, I would like a full investigation into their business practices and their compliance with federal consumer protection laws.I appreciate the BBBs assistance in resolving this matter. Please let me know if you require any further information.Sincerely,******* *******Business Response

I received a collection from National Grid Mohawk in the amount of $3,653.58. I have never lived in the state of NY and my credit bureaus have been locked for years. I see that this is an ongoing problem with fraud from that company. I have filed a police report in *****, ** and I am working with Serif the investigator. I also filled out the paper work for fraud with ************* to get this resolved. It has been a long process. I was informed that ************* allowed utilities to be turned on without identification and allowed the bill to continue without payment for 11 months. I encourage everyone to take the same steps as I have. It's a long road but National Grid Mohawk should be held responsible for all the continued fraud.Business Response

In reviewing the account in question we see that National Grid requested that we close and return the account on October 8, 2024, which we did. Allied has not made any attempt to collect this account since that date nor has Allied Account Services reported this debt to the credit bureaus. As of this time we would request future correspondence regarding this account be directed to National Grid directly as we are no longer representing National Grid on this matter. We can be reached at ************ with questions or concerns.Initial Complaint
