I was told PTM Solar puts a credit on my bill because the Public Service Commission requires ******** **** to credit customers because ******** **** was allied to build solar fields in my area.

Sales rep came to my residence, he was nice but did not explain what it actually was, nor what I had signed up for. Swiped through all of the information that required signatures. falsified what this actually was and did not inform me that anything would need to be paid for. I emailed customer service requesting termination on the same day I signed it. After looking online that this is a scam and reading the “contract” I was not given the proper information. This is not “buyers remorse” your staff need to stop evading the truth and taking advantage of people. I have not received an answer back from customer service yet. This man showed up at my door with a PTM Solar lanyard and ID, his name was Richard L******. He told me the company could save me 10% off my electric bill and I thought it was shady from the start but I sent him a copy of my bill. Idk why they needed a copy of the entire bill, I suspect he or they are going to try to scam me. I’ve tried calling their “corporate” number, only to have no one pick up their phone at any of the extensions. I tried leaving a message on their answering machine only to have it tell me there was an “error” in leaving the message. Very sketchy and worrisome. I am worried they will try to use my information to ruin my credit or something. Please I just want them to cancel my subscription with them and contact me with proof they’ve cancelled me.Business Response

Someone came knocking on my door telling me I was entitled to credits for the solar panels going in around the area. When I told them I wasn’t interested they became pushy saying I’m entitled to the money and can get 10% back from my electric bill. After hearing this I started to go thru with the details they now have my email account number and phone number and have read of numerous scams from these people online. I did not sign anything but have read that others didn’t and have been still switched without their knowledge I do not want anything from this company and want to be removed from any service they are trying to push on me without my authorizationBusiness Response

They offered a 10% discount on my bill. Which is a lie. They asked for information and I told them I didn't feel comfortable. I asked him to hold off and he submitted my info and did the esignature with out my permission. He stated it would be sent to my email. Which it wasn't. Customer enrollment was canceled immediately. Our representative walked customer through entire enrollment and helped the customer with everything . And customer changed his mind after everything was submitted because of something he read online . our rep told him he has to reach out to solar farm to cancel and he couldn’t do anything himself because all the info was submitted . representative has been retrained to handle these situations better .Initial Complaint

This company said I would be saving 10% off my utility bill. I felt uncomfortable and pressured as a single female in the back of my property he wasn’t leaving. He now has my phone number, email address, address and photos of my utility bill. He emailed me a contact and wouldn’t let me read it, he kept grabbing my phone and scrolling through all the fine print of what he wanted me to sign. After he left I read what was sent to me and sent to my husband he said I needed to cancel within the 3 days without penalty. I have submitted an email and tried to call within 12 hours. No answer when I call and no email back. I want this canceled ASAP! I also contacted my utility company and they said they have no idea who this company is or what they do but that they wouldn’t be issuing a credit on the bill as they never have done this for a 3rd party. This is not buyers remorse as they seem to state on every complaint this is a female who felt uncomfortable and wanted you off of my property but you would not leave.Business Response

The Contractor should not be touching anyone device the Company of the Management Company that works with the Utility Company is ******. We have informed them to Cancel this Agreement as well. I had a guy from PTM Solar come to my door and now I am reading online that this is a scam. I am very upset…the guy was nice but pushy to get me to agree to do this. He says I would get a credit in three months on my bill. I have decided I don’t want anything to do with this and I want my name removed from this service. I did not agree to anything and I did not sign anything but he took a picture of my ******** **** bill and has my phone number and email address. He was wearing a badge that says better business bureau and I took a picture of it with his name and employee number. We have requested cancellation from our solar developer Nautilus. This is not a scam and would receive 10% CDG Credit on Utility Bill in few months. I believe the customer and buyers remorse and was reading things online and assumed we can control her electric rate but we are not a energy supplier we are acquisition company for solar developers and the utility handles the billing credits. On 10/19 a man claimi** to be from PTM solar Derek W*** came to my elderly mothers door and convinced her to show him her ******** **** **** claimi** she was eligible for a discount from the last 8 years for payi** for solar on her ** bill. Since she was unable to call the number to “close” the deal she called me. I asked him to go away and he stayed for 45 minutes and tried to change her phone codes so that she could make the call and close the deal, called his co-worker over and refused to leave. At worst this is a scam at best it was inappropriate tactics to do whatever it was they were trying to do and the pressure tactics I find inapprorpriate.Business Response

We cannot confirm the specific information for this customer as the complaint was make by a family member so we can speak on general practices. The salesman in question is weeks new, when this complaint was made and does not recall being asked to leave by anyone on the date of the complaint. Being new, he would call his manager if he ran into any issues or is unsure of a situation that may arise if and when a customer wants to proceed. The rep has been spoken to regarding dealing with elderly customers. He also understands that he should not proceed if a customer is having issues with their device and cannot remedy the situation on their own. Once resolved he can proceed once customer is able to move forward. He has stated that he does not use pressure tactics but will help if a customer is interested in signing up for the service, but he is limited in ways he can assist. He also stated that he understands the nature of the credit which is built up for several years, not 8 years as relayed. This credit is available for utility customers, but does have to be applied for in order to benefit from the credits. I hope this adds some clarification to this issue.Initial Complaint

My wife and I keep getting harassed at home by salespeople from PTM Solar who will not leave when asked, violating local laws, and do not appear to have permits for soliciting.
We have told them many times to leave us alone and they keep lying and making excuses to bother us and our neighbors.Business Response

Ptm solar takes customer feedback very serious we have great relationship in our community. We do yearly sponsorships to help our community offer career opportunity for all ages of people from Office Jobs to Marketers and Retail Events. That being said not all the agents will do everything 100% correct and will need coaching and feedback. We take notice on not wanting visits and making sure Contractors are obtaining their permits if required. The **** family made multiple aggressive and harassing comments yesterday 9/12 on social media on our agents post showing income potential making comments " b***s*** company " also made negative comments on 9/11 post as well. We had to take these down asap. We handle qa and compliance very serious we had department and if **** would of called the number and was professional and explained they dont want to be visited and had any questions we would be glad to answer those questions and get to the bottom of any complaints about repeat visits or permits. **** and his wife didn't provide any information on the agents name time or address. Our team responded to google messenger after harassing message to add his home to our do not visit. There are many companies that go door to door and this is our first visit there was over 50 Community Solar Projects in the upstate area with many of those companies using marketers to acquire customers on their behalf. If **** and his family would listen no one said PTM solar was no profit company the Agent would explain this is something they are paying for our there utility bill which is Fee that goes toward helping build Solar Projects. If they quality and subscribe to the solar farm offer they would get energy from local solar farm and receive 10% discount. See attached communition

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I know PTM Solar has visited us multiple times, always wearing the same badges, and yesterday visited TWICE despite being told we weren't interested. We called the number first but got no reply, we only got excuses and lies that we found out the truth about following research that this is a pattern of behavior on the part of this business and kids who work for them often get arrested because they lack permits.they refused to leave our porch and tried to blame companies that PTM Solar partners with. They are known to steal customer info and make changes to people's accounts without permission and we found dozens upon dozens of people saying the same thing.This company operates a pyramid style business and is extremely shady. They refused to accept any responsibility and as we learned, these "many companies" are actually all working together and basically the same just different names.
It's interesting in our research how PTM came up again and again and again.
If they ever come to our neighborhood again we will be contacting the police. If we see their cronies in our city we will contact the police.

We dont have control over other companies going door to door. We have permit and code of conduct and inquire proper training and understanding of the community solar program. If provided address and email we can remove from do not visit but if someone from our company stoped by we wouldn't have record unless contractor provided any information. We checked CRM and i dont see anything under ******* ******
