My wife and I both have accounts with this company, and their customer service is absolutely terrible. This morning, I called them nearly 10 times to request that my account be closed. Each time, I verified my identity by answering their security questions, but as soon as we started discussing my request or when I voiced my complaints, the call was disconnected. Their system dropped the call repeatedly, and only one out of nine customer service representatives called me back. The issue was not on my end, as I had no problems with other calls. Even they acknowledged their phone system has issues.AVOID, AVOID, AVOIDthis was the worst customer experience I've ever had!

I have had a very poor experience with CIT Bank and do not recommend dealing with them. First, they take forever to transfer funds between a savings account at their bank to another account. I have been trying to fund a new account at ******************** for over a week now but they are still not in the account and available. For some reason, after transferring funds they are not available for another 5 business days. I don't have issues like this with other on-line banks like Ally Banks - they transfer funds in one day and the funds are available. I assume CIT Bank enjoys using customer funds without paying interest for a few extra days.

***** from Direct ******* calls me every other day even after I told him to put me on their do not call list. He calls me early morning before 8am. Late hours throughout the day, after I repeatedly told him we are all non profit organization and to stop calling me please. They will go so far as calling from various different numbers after I block the others. How can I sue this company!

This is the worst "bank" I have ever dealt with! My parents are elderly so I began processing Power of Attorneys so I could handle transactions for them. I dealt with 6 other banks with no problem. Paperwork was processed within a week. With CIT, I sent the *** in July. In August, I was told I needed to send over an affidavit proving I was who I was, which I did. When I called to check on the progress, I was told they would need to "verify" me by phone and I could not call in, but they would call me. That took another 2 weeks. When they called me to verify me, they told me the *** was STILL not processed but call back in a couple of days. I gave them FIVE days and called back. Still not processed and NOW I have to wait for THEM to send me an email telling me when this gets done. Of course, there is NO ONE to talk to in that department. You just have to wait. I am starting to believe this bank is a scam and fraudulent company. You can bet we will withdraw the money ASAP!

We had a quick loan for a digital scanner and everything went well. About two weeks ago we were looking for another quick loan for another piece of equipment. Instead the Rep ***** at Direct Capital Funding decided we needed a line of credit from another company called ****** Capital. The *** also came with an interest rate of 38%!!! We told them we were not interested because I have an existing *** with interest at 12.5%***** then sold our information to every predatory lender. Scumb bag company

They refused to perform a wire transfer from my account, even though when I signed up for the account they promised free wire transfers. They said, "the system says your phone number is suspicious", with no additional information. Terrible. Also, customer service is completely useless. They put you on hold forever and do not help in any way, just try to get you off the phone as quick as possible.

CIT bank advertises high savings rates on certain deposit accounts, then adds more deposit accounts to their offerings while drastically reducing rates of return on the previously touted high yield accounts. Does not disclose product rate offerings on customer's secure website portal, so as to require periodic visit to their website or other ratings websites to remain current on CIT's own competing products. CIT quotes certificate of deposit rates on 3, 6, 9, 13, and 15+ month deposits. Their website will typically not allow certificate holders to change the default renewal instruction at maturity of Certificate of Deposits. Worse, when a 13 month certificate of deposit matures, CIT Bank renews the certificate as a 12 month certificate, which pays a rate less then one tenth of any of their other rates, from 3 months to 5 years duration. This is a deceptive and predatory practice, completely out of synch with customary renewals of certificates at the same term duration as the original certificate was issued. The difference between a 13 month certificate at 4.65% and the 12 month "rollover renewal" rate of .03% is obviously a ploy to collect penalties for early withdrawals of certificates discovered to have matured and rolled into a product for that is not even offered to new customers or advertised on their website. This practice is obviously contrived to take advantage of customers, and reveals that CIT bank is not a trustworthy U.S. Bank. I'm closing all accounts and moving my money elsewhere.

I had the onerous task of notifying multiple banks about the death of my mother-in-law. CIT bank (the headquarters not a local branch) provided by far the worst experience at a time when my family is struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. I spoke on the phone with a rep who seemed to have no idea what he was doing. I was prompted to provide the information at least twice. He asked for my name 3 times (and it only has 3 letters in it) In turn he asked me irrelevant questions like "What is your question". I got the impression he was working from home. He didn't ask for the account number. I told him I was dissatisfied with the service. He apologized and then proceeded to act in exactly the same way. It was almost as though he was stoned and he certainly seemed totally distracted. Eventually, I managed to glean from him that a packet of info would be sent to me "sometime in the next week or two". We're talking about a large sum of money here and as soon as I can I will move it to another bank.
