      This company is not even worth half a star!!! I had this card for 3 years then all of a sudden they wanted to charge me;$100.00 a year to use with no notice? So I called and said I couldnt get a refund? So I canceled the they sent me a bill 2 months later and charged me a $40.00 late fee ? I had this card for 3 years I was never late on a payment or paid interest!!! This is how they treat loyal customers!! Never ever again will I use the scam artists again!!! Then I asked for a guarantee of no further contact including by phone, email, and postal service!!! They said they wouldnt do that, but I had to guarantee my payments on time! DTA anyone in this company!!!

      This is the most opaque company I've ever had a credit card with. They don't explain clearly the charges, I believe they are using now AI bots for customer service. I paid over $17000 on a statement, and the representative tells me I only paid $710. The statement lists interests charged since 2023 (!) and they tell me I don't know how to read a statement. Surreal that such a big company cannot be transparent! If you don't need / use the rewards attached to your credit card, run away! There are much better companies out there.

      I am filing this complaint due to American Expresss refusal to work with me on a resolution plan for a combined balance of approximately $97,467 across three of my accounts (1 Platinum and 2 Cash cards). These accounts were closed after a single incident involving a comment made during a phone call a comment I have since taken full responsibility for and apologized for in writing.Despite multiple attempts to reach a reasonable resolution, American Express has refused to offer a temporary hardship payment plan or consider reinstating my accounts. I am actively trying to pay this debt in good faith and avoid further credit damage, yet I have been met with no willingness to cooperate.This level of inflexibility is both punitive and concerning, especially given the size of the balance and my willingness to resolve it. I am prepared to escalate this further to regulatory authorities, including the **** and my State Attorney General, if I continue to be denied a fair path forward.I request that American Express reevaluate its stance and allow me to enter into a structured hardship plan and be given a fair opportunity to reestablish my accounts under monitored terms.

      I was told when I signed back up they would honor the points. They have strung me along for almost a month and was now told they won't even reimburse my annual fee. I would like a call to discuss geting my fee back

      I own a small business and received an email offering a business line of credit, preapproved. I applied and was approved. Then tried to access the funds and were told I had to upload a bank statement. I get paper stmts from my bank so I scanned and uploaded a statement. Never heard back.After 10 days and multiple calls, each time with a different answer was finally told I had to have a direct downloaded statement, not a scanned copy. My business bank does not offer downloaded statements when you received your statements on paper.Therefore, I made some business decisions based on being approved from Amex only to find I couldn't access the funds when I needed this. It's of course appropriate to request documentation to verify my bona fides, etc., but to require they be submitted in a specific style and format is ridiculous.Overall the process was overly cumbersome, time consuming, and not pleasant. I should add I have a stable business with excellent credit.

      American Express is the ABSOLUTE WORST credit card company I've ever dealt with. **************** is terrible. I've been with them 11 years and asked them to reverse a late charge because of a Plan it payment misunderstanding. They would not.- never been late before. Run - don't walk - to ***** ********** or Discover. They stink

      I, **** **** along with my father, Guy **** formally request a copy of the application form which American Express has stated was applied for online December 15, 2016. Per my conversation with **************** Representative, we are making this request. I request to be removed from this account immediately, and my father, Guy **** should be the sole owner. I I, Guy **** am the sole member of THE ****************. Although I have seldom used it, I have had this account with ******************************************************************** for several years. My part-time employee and son, **** M **** was an additional card holder. At some point, Amex made **** M *** the primary cardholder. On numerous occasions, we have demanded that Amex provide some documentation showing why they made this change. However, after hours on the phone and many call transfers, Amex admitted that they had nothing to provide. At one point, Amex did agree to change the ownership to Guy **** however, we never got that accomplished. My credit report shows that, in the last 30 years, I have never paid late. Also, to reiterate, I, Guy **** am the sole member of THE *****************American Express must immediately provide me information why this account was erroneously setup. Otherwise, they should immediately make Guy *** as the owner of the account. Also, they need to remove **** M *** as the primary and remove him from the account completely. I demand a remedy immediately. Otherwise, I will seek legal restitution.

      I am frustrating B/c they're promoting 0% APR offers without Balance transfer or Debt consolidation options. in my case I wanted debt consolidation or balance transfer options for my existed Loans; after filling out application online and running my credit report I received a confirmation "Approved" But no amount stated. almost 8 days later received a card with a low- limit ($1,000) that didn't meet my request at all . my credit report ( actually in 700), the whole purpose is to transfer my balance and close my old card. I called customer service ( spoke to ***** and explained my goal. she wasn't helpful in finding a solution, I was told thats the only choice I have, and no supervisors can help me with my request. So, I cancelled my card before even activated. I wont recommend this company to anyone. FALLS advertisements

      Horrible and very rude customer service - snooty and condescending!They treated my elderly mother (a very **** 87 year old) like an incompetent child when she tried to decline their annual membership fee and close her account. She's still trying to get this matter taken care of. When she asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, the manager was even worse than the employee. If I could, I'd given them no stars whatsoever. They don't deserve any. I am reporting them to my local senior advocate's office as well.

      I was a loyal customer for about 10 years when I took a trip to ******, and purchased some jewelry. Long story short, I was scammed. Upon realizing that, I took the items back (within 24 hours). I requested a return receipt, but the merchant had a laundry list of reasons why they would not provide one, and have not provided one since. The MERCHANT told me to open a dispute with AmEx, and all would be resolved. I don't know why I believed them but I did. Neither myself nor my travel companion thought to use our phones to record the interaction. I had a dispute with AmEx open as long as I could. (Keep in mind - two disputes were filed on the same day, from the same location, for two vendors from the same 'family'. One of those was closed. The other...)Fast forward to 'today' - I have been reported as 'delinquent' to the credit bureaus. I jumped through all the hoops AmEx asked of me - but because a merchant that I reported for shady behavior told a different story than I did, I was not believed. I had "no proof".I reported a 'fraudulent' merchant (Ambar Joyeria, who may not even be in business anymore, they cannot be 'googled'). I have documented my complete chat history with agents, the entire story regarding the purchase, evidence that others (with other credit card companies) were also scammed by this merchant, proof that I was communicating with someone affiliated with the business. I have even reached out to executives on ********, hoping to reach someone who cares about the actual customer, and that I was scammed outside of the **. I have been reported as delinquent to the credit bureaus. The $5k charge remains unpaid, and has been sent to collections. I have other cards that I am paying, b/c I did receive the goods and/or services. This is the ONLY card that I have not paid in over 2 years, b/c I returned the items, and I (the customer) am not being believed over a vendor that I reported for their shameful activities.
