Ive really officially given up on any credit card company Im confident and I really do think its one sided and the Fing rich always wins while the people trying get nothing Ive literally had and in my opinion I really think its racial bias and just thinking about Amex and all these rotten credit companies I hate them all but American Express the most!

After having a no limit gold card for many years, I got an offer to open a HYSA with a $350 sign up bonus. To get the bonus, I had to use the email link. Somehow, two new accounts were created, so I called customer service to cancel one of them because I had no need for two accounts. Their representative asked which one I wanted to cancel without explaining that if I picked the wrong one, I'd lose the sign up bonus. Apparently I picked the wrong one, and lost the $350. **************** supervisor said there was nothing they could do about it, and told me that I was still getting a good annual percentage rate on my savings, even though I lost the bonus. The *** had dropped from 4.0% to 3.7%, and I mentioned this to them. After my next billing cycle, I'll be cancelling both my gold card and high yield savings accounts. I have no use for companies who practice bait and switch tactics.

My American Express Serve card was stolen, and I immediately reported it and disputed the unauthorized charges. I provided receipts and documentation proving that I was nowhere near the location where the fraudulent charges took place.Despite clear evidence, my dispute was denied without a reasonable explanation. It feels like they didnt even review the information I submitted. I trusted Serve to protect my money, but the way my case was handled was careless and frustrating.I would not recommend this card to anyone looking for reliable customer service or fraud protection. Very disappointed.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with American Express was so frustrating I feel compelled to share:I had my card set to auto-payment, but Amex removed it without any notification. I missed the payment deadline by just three hours, saw the error, and paid the full $770 balance immediately. I assumed the late fee was covered and everything was resolved.A month later, I was hit with a several-hundred-dollar interest charge on transactions that werent even part of that statement cycle. There was no warning, no heads-up, nothing in my online account to indicate interest was accruing daily. This feels predatory. If Amex had let me know interest was accumulating, I would have paid the entire balance right away. Instead, they let the fees snowball, then surprise-billed me months later. One star.

Wish I could leave ZERO stars!!! My card was cancelled without notification, supposedly a letter was mailed, I have not received it. My account was not in bad standing that it should have been cancelled!! Payment was made, supposedly it was returned insufficient according to Amex but definitely cleared my bank account, which I verified to make sure. Mailing a letter and not attempting to call or send text messages for such an important issue as cancelling my card is extremely negligent and inconsiderate to me as a customer for over 4 years!! I will never apply for another Amex card EVER!! Their business practice and customer service has gone to zero, I used to be so happy to have an Amex card but not anymore, I will not recommend anyone to apply for this card under any circumstances.

Worst company Ive ever dealt with. I had a credit card account with them for years accumulating $2500+ in rewards dollars. I never missed a payment or was delinquent on payment over 7+ years. Due to an increase in spending they did a financial review to which I didnt respond within 10 days as I was traveling. They then closed the account, made me pay the balance in full and stated I had forfeited my rewards dollars based on company policy. Ive been arguing with them for 6 months now and given different information every time. The credit card account division and rewards division have no idea what the other is doing and give wildly different answers. STAY AWAY from AMEX!!! I left one star because zero wasnt an option.

They are holding our $225 worth of ********** gift card hostage, our ONLY recourse was to switch to a store we NEVER go to. They won't temporarily open the account, send out a virtual gift card, or honor the equivalent $$ to a card that we will actually use. We will NEVER GO BACK to American Express, ****** learned.
