To whom it may concern I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Natural Cycles a company that offers a digital birth control application. I have experienced an issue with their service that I believe is misleading and potentially exploitative.1. Unauthorized Price Increase Despite Locked-In Rate:When I signed up for Natural Cycles, I was promised and agreed to a locked-in annual subscription rate of $99 USD per year. I have written proof of this rate, which was explicitly advertised as a permanent price for existing subscribers. However, without my consent, Natural Cycles unilaterally raised the subscription fee to $150 per year, sending only a 30-day notice via email before the next billing cycle. There was no option to keep my existing plan, nor was there an acknowledgment that they were reversing a previously guaranteed agreement.2. Inadequate and Dismissive Customer Support:I contacted ********************** customer support to raise this issue and requested that they honor the original agreement. All they offered in response was a one-time coupon to reduce the cost for this billing cycle, without addressing the core issue: I attempted to explain that while a pricing policy change may be acceptable for new subscribers, who can consent to those terms upon sign-up, it is unethical and misleading to alter the pricing terms retroactively for an existing customerespecially one who has remained loyal for four years under the understanding that their subscription fee would never change. This fundamental point was ignored.Requested Outcome:I request that Natural Cycles honor the originally agreed-upon subscription rate of $99 per year or issue a refund for the difference.I also request that they revise their customer service approach and policies to respect prior agreements and ensure that long-term customers are not subject to retroactive changes without informed consent.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Business Response

Hi *******,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We apologize for the frustration youve experienced.
We understand your disappointment regarding the recent pricing changes. While our current policy no longer allows us to continue the previous pricing tiers, we did offer a substantial discount as a gesture of goodwill.
We also want to clarify that, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions agreed to upon signup, subscription prices may change from time to time. You agree to any such price changes by continuing to use Natural Cycles. We aim to communicate these updates clearly and in advance, and we regret if our message did not meet your expectations. Natural Cycles automatically renewed a subscription without any warning. When I tried to contact their customer service it's just a bot that goes around in circles, leaving you with no choice to talk to an actual person. This app has been pretty useless for me and I haven't used it in months. I have checked my emails and there hasn't been a single email from them letting me know my subscription will be renewed - I don't appreciate being stolen from and then lied to. Additionally, the lack of human customer support and the useless internet user platform is frustrating. There isn't a way for me to remove my payment method from my account. You can't even manage your subscription from the app! Do not fall for this trap! Learn from the others who have had this same complaint. Natural Cycles, if you can't retain your subscription base without the use of shady business practices, you should probably work on bettering your product instead of keeping people like me hostage.Business Response

I was charged for Natural Cycles subscription last year. I tried on multiple occasions to cancel my subscription and get a refund. The only mode of speaking to a representative is chat. The chat tells me that I do not have an account with them and will not let me talk to a live agent. was charged again today March 17th 2025. I again tried to contact an agent. Again, I got caught in a loop with the chat saying, "I do not have an account with them". They are stealing my money at this point!Business Response

Natural Cycles charged me $129 for a subscription renewal and claims they sent me an email in January to warn me of the upcoming charge. I have no such email from them, and I do not use their product. Their customer service is a chat bot and you cannot get through to a human to help resolve your issue. The charge is pending as today is the renewal date. Had I known, I would have cancelled. Not only do I not use the app and not want the subscription, but I was also recently impacted by layoffs and need that money back. This is a terrible way of doing business and feels like theft.Business Response

I just received an invoice for $119 for a one-year Natural Cycles subscription (Feb 11, 2025 Feb 11, 2026). However, I already paid $14.99 for the month of January (Jan 23, 2025 Feb 23, 2025) and have been paying $14.99 per month through Apple Payments since February 2024.I originally purchased my Oura Ring on Feb 11, 2024, but did not activate Natural Cycles immediately. Even so, I have a receipt showing that I bought a discounted annual subscription at that time. Despite this, I was charged monthly through Apple Payments for over a year, meaning I was unknowingly paying for both a monthly and an annual subscription. When I looked into this issue, I discovered that there was no record of my annual membership in the apponly my monthly payments were visible. At no point did Natural Cycles notify me that I was being double-charged for over a year. This is completely unacceptable.Natural Cycles appears to take advantage of the disconnect between ***** and their own website, shifting accountability onto ***** for subscriptions purchased through them. However, its hard to believe that Natural Cycles was unaware of these duplicate charges, especially since they had no problem collecting my payments.I am requesting a cancellation and refund for one of these subscriptions. This was misleading, and Natural Cycles should have provided an alert informing me that I was paying for both.Business Response

I cancelled my subscription within the cancellation period in 2022 then in 2023 I still received a charge for the subscription renewal which I had cancelled online. When I contacted customer support they confirmed my cancellation, apologized, and refunded my money. I asked that they do whatever necessary on their end to make sure this didnt happen again and they said they did. This year I was charged again for the subscription! When I attempted to contact them I could only reach a chatbot and then the customer support told me that I wont be refunded. They have successfully stolen money from me and refuse to refund it.Business Response

Date of Transaction - Today Amount $119.00 Unethical, deceptive and misleading business practices Dear Natural Cycles Team,I am writing to formally request a refund for the recent automatic renewal of my annual subscription which was charged this morning. While I understand that you state that when I first signed up I agreed to cancel the renewal within 24 hours of being charged, I can't find or access this information in my records. Additionally, it has been a year since I initially signed up, and I do not recall being made explicitly aware of this stipulation at the time.Additionally, the email notice I received regarding the renewal, titled "About Your Natural Cycles Account," did not clearly indicate that it was a renewal notice in the subject line. You send out so many marketing emails, it was easy for this to get lost in my inbox. The lack of clarity in this communication did not provide me with sufficient opportunity to cancel the renewal in advance. Since I have not used the service for many months (I found it difficult to implement and never really used it at all to begin with) and do not plan to do so in the future, I kindly request a refund.I believe this process could be considered misleading and potentially unfair to consumers.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a prompt resolution.Business Response

I joined a year ago and used the app for a month or two but the thermometers I received did not work properly and I stopped using it. I was charged again for another yearly subscription but never received ANY sort of notification that my subscription was about to renew. When I contacted them, they said I was sent an email, which is nowhere in my inbox - and i still have all of my original correspondence with them from when i first signed up and emailed regarding a thermometer that doesnt work. So I was given no reminder of my subscription being processed and when the charge came through I contacted them immediately and they refused to refund. They took almost $100 from me for something I am not going to use. I have NEVER had an issue like with with any other subscription app company, these policies are scammy and predatory. I want my refund.Business Response

On June 23, 2023, I was charged $99.99 for a subscription by Natural Cycles. This was based on a free trial offered as part of the purchase of an Oura ring. I immediately attempted to get a refund and was told that refunds were not available as per Natural Cycle's policy. Accepting this asinine policy, I chalked it up as a learning experience and cancelled my account, vowing to never to business with Natural Cycles again. One year later, June 24, 2024, I have been charged an additional $99.99. I attempted to get a refund, but I am unable to find a **************** phone number, and my email request was denied, again referencing their asinine policy of not giving refunds. I cancelled my account the last time they stole $99.99 from me. It feels as if there is no recourse other than logging a complaint with the BBB. I have since gone into my account and cancelled the subscription again, but have no confidence that it will actually be cancelled. The business practices and return/refund policies of Natural Cycles are deceitful at best, bordering on illegal.Business Response
