I had a cash value policy with this place for 6 years. I'm in bad *************** and needed to take out a loan, so I did. Now I need to end the policy and tried to get the rest of the cash value out and they are only giving me $103. After 6 years of paying $120 a month, I only had $4K in cash value, and will only get $103 because of the only $2k loan I took out from before. This company is a scam. They'll take your money and you won't get anything back after 6 years of investing. Do not waste your time with this scam company. 6 years worth of money down the toilet. Thieves.

This is regarding their Dental plan They denied a claim for a crown because it wasn't 10 years and able to be reused. I had a cavity under my crown which was required to be fixed. By denying this claim Guarding is basically stating that a cavity isn't a legitimate reason to replace a crown and thus would rather leave the cavity unfixed for a bigger risk to my health. I.e. Their profits over my health. This is the second time they have denied a claim for procedures that were in line with my providers practices. Worst insurance I've ever had and almost worse than no insurance.I give the ZERO stars. I'd rather be punched in the mouth that have them cover my mouth

This company does not treat its policyholders fairly. They took money from my whole life insurance policy, added the unauthorized withdrawals as loans, added interest fees according to the loans, and canceled the policy because of outstanding loans and interest fees. They sent a 1099R form to the *** based on the stolen money. The insurance company withdrew the money via forged signature transaction requests twice, once in 1990 and once in 1991, and an edited/altered annuity account transaction request in 2013, which made it look like it was a transaction request from the whole life insurance policy. The company had me sign forgery affidavits, and they determined that the forged signatures were not mine. They recalculated the insurance policy and offered to reinstate it if I agreed not to hold them accountable for the 2013 theft. I would not agree not to hold them responsible for the 2013 theft because the theft was for $3,000.00. That was 4 years' worth of dividends taken from the policy and added to the policy as a loan, and interest fees were added accordingly. The insurance company knows that the policy was canceled because of unauthorized withdrawals and that the 1099R form submitted to the *** is incorrect, and they still will not reinstate the policy. The company knows the money was stolen from the policy because they don't have a genuine transaction request for the $3,000.00 withdrawal. If they have a genuine transaction request for the $3,000.00 theft, forward it to me; if they don't have a genuine transaction request from me, reinstate the policy.

A literal scam. I got dental insurance through them on the marketplace because they had good rates. Their user portal is totally unhelpful, none of it works or provides useful information. They rejected my routine cleaning claims (should be 100% covered), and when I called to ask why, I was put on hold for 20 minutes before being connected to a looped recording of a representative introducing themselves and asking if I could hear them. I know it was a recording, because it looped three times before I finally hung up. Called twice, happened both times. Worse than not having insurance at all.

I have been a loyal policyholder of Guardian Life Insurance for over 20 years, paying my premiums faithfully. Until this year, I had never filed a claim, and my experience with the disability claim process has been extremely frustrating. For over 6 months, they slow-walked my claim, providing minimal communication, unnecessary delays, and no resolution despite extensive medical evidence and documentation.I am dealing with debilitating health issues caused by mold exposure and multiple antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which have led to multi-system complications that prevent me from working. Ive worked with my doctors and submitted everything requested, yet Guardian has failed to act, meet its obligations, or take any meaningful steps toward resolution. My representative has repeatedly misrepresented their intended actions throughout this process. Their idea of a doctor review for my biotoxin, multi-system illness with antibiotic-resistant bacteria was to have an ER doctor review it. Since I called them out on their negligence, I had to hire an attorney, but all they have done is offer vague reassurances like "we are in the process," with no progress *******'s sad to see an insurance company, which markets itself as caring and dependable, neglect its most vulnerable policyholders in their time of need. Based on the reviews here and my personal experience, this appears to be a pattern of behavior. I am filing this complaint in hopes of not only resolving my case but also highlighting the systemic issues at *********************** seems Guardian is collecting premiums without adequately paying out claims, leaving me to question whether they are solvent enough to fulfill their obligations. I strongly urge the appropriate regulatory authorities to investigate these practices and hold Guardian accountable for their treatment of policyholders like myself.

If I could give 0 or negative I would. Waited 6 weeks to get paid after sending paperwork the day of my operation. Filed an extension and took 19 business days to get it approved and now with complications, I need another extension and they keep giving the run around currently on business day 14. I call one representative and they say we have all we need and then call on the 10th business day and another representative says they haven't received paperwork. The right hand doesn't know what the left one is doing. Can't talk to a supervisor or case worker. They say they'll call text email to communicate but the truth is, if I didn't reach out, I'd never hear from them. I so wish I didn't have complications so I could go back to work, trust me it's better than dealing with them. The representative today claimed "this is the first I'm hearing these issues personally" after reading the reviews I now know that was a lie!!!

If i could leave this insurance company a negative star review I would do so! Its a SCAM!!! They are not transparent with their policies, everything is based off of "percentages" and they downgraded my policy without informing me!!! Their policies are not clear and very vague, it states that they cover 50% of filings HOWEVER it does not state that ONLY 50% of the fillings that they cover is silver filings!!! I just went to the dentist and had a surprise bill of $644, I immediately checked my plan details and nowhere does it state any of the information that I have listed above. I am BEYOND frustrated as i am unemployed and cannot afford to pay this amount for fillings!!!!

By far the worst customer ********************** I have ever experienced in my life. I used to think it was ******** but Guardian insurance is taking the price. Every phone call each month to make sure that my short term disability is still active is like pulling teeth information we are given is sometimes false, an accurate and it delays the checks. Its like they almost wanna make it too hard so you just stop trying. Now Im waiting on the form to give to the state to see if I can get some help in the person that talk to my wife told her theyre not gonna do it and that no ones gonna talk to her about it and then hung up on her , what a joke I thought my company wouldve done more research into this guardian before using them as their insurer. Hope none of them ever have to go on disability.

I have been managing dental practices in the *********** area for more than 33 years. Guardian has denied more claims for crown restorations and "deep cleanings" (aka periodontal scaling & root planing) than any other carrier I have ever dealt with. It appears that they have a standard policy of denying the former unless a tooth has had root canal therapy or upwards of 80% or more of the tooth structure is gone. And they will always deny claims for the latter procedure unless a patient's teeth are ready to fall out. Their requirements for deep cleanings to be covered are ridiculously stringent and outdated; their denials always violate the current norms of the American Academy of Periodontology. I have worked for practices where I have been brought on almost exclusively to appeal Guardian claim denials. Additionally, their response to my requests for claim review usually consist of a copy of the original EOB with an additional disclaimer that is always the same pro forma declaration that repeats the original denial reason with no other reasoning for their decision being provided. It is only when I have followed up these appeal denials with a formal complaint to state insurance regulators or involve the sponsoring employer's plan administrators that I have received a more comprehensive document delineating in detail why their alleged "dental consultant" upheld the decision to not pay benefits for legitimately rendered dental treatment. Guardian denies procedures that 99% of all other dental insurance carriers will cover. And this has been the situation for the more than 3 decades I have been submitting dental claims. This carrier is incorrigible, unethical and unrepentantly malfeasant in how they refuse to pay out benefits that their subscribers and we dental providers are rightfully owed.
