I was recently charged for a renewal of Vanity Fair magazine which I called and cancelled last year. Having NEVER agreeing to automatically renewing anything with CondeNast, and not receiving any notice of the fact that this charge was about to occur, they charged me $29.99 for a renewal of this magazine on 1/20/2023 on PayPal to be charged to my MasterCard account. While I fully understand that magazines are struggling to survive, after calling and talking to someone in ***** in behalf of Conde Nast, I was told that they couldn't email confirmation of a refund and that it would take quite a while before I could look for any email confirmation of cancellation and refund of my money. Unethical.

I was reading an article online in October and it said to continue I had to sign up for a trial which was low. It was only $12.00. I read the article on The New Yorker and per my PayPall records that was on 10/09/2022. I never read anything more and assumed the trial would just end. On New Years Eve *************** to friend and family wishes on my phone and see an email from Pay Pal that on 01/01/2023 at 12:01 am my account was charged $119.00. I thought what the heck have I been hacked. So I go to PayPal and see the charge. I was shocked and immediately started researching how to cancel. Online it said they were open Sunday so I called and kept getting kicked off until I tried another number and said they were closed for the holiday. Online it said Cond Nast digital publications could be cancelled at anytime and you would be refunded the remaining time. So I was still worried and sent an email and then followed up with a call on Monday. The customer service guy said he couldnt find me on the system and took my phone number and said he would escalate and someone would call me. That never happened. Meanwhile I get reply to my email saying they couldnt find me. So I call someone today and she said she worked at the digital and print division and I would be able to get refund when I called the number she gave me. I called the digital division and was given the same run around. She said she would escalate to supervisor email me back. She did and it was a very lawyer written statement that said I would not get a refund. I am a savvy educated polite person who was treated like I was not worth their time. It is the most deceptive shady business practice I have ever seen. Then I go searching online and see almost identical stories. It is clearly unfair deceptive consumer practices of a publishing behemoth utilizing misleading sales tactics. What reputable business would want handcuffed subscribers? I want my money back. It is appalling that so many have been scammed.

I was charged ***** on may 6th 2022 from the gq best stuff box. I had a subscription for the spring box which I subscribed to on April 22 2022. A couple days later I get a second charge for the summer box when my spring box had yet to arrive. I call and explain my situation and the lady on the phone says to just return the second box I got charged for back to sender without opening. Which I proceeded to do. Months later and many many calls and emails later they keep saying my refund is approved and theyre just waiting on the billing department and now I ask for an update in December and they say the case has been escalated and they still refuse to refund me or provide a replacement.

October 1 , 2022 , started a trial digital subscription with The New Yorker. Went online in November 2022, to cancel it before it ballooned to $119.99.I went through the process online. Received no verification that it was cancelled but I trusted them it was done. They sent through the $119.99 charge on Dec. 23, 2022, refuse to cancel it and issue any refund at all.

Cond Nast charged me for a magazine subscription without notice, increased their price without notice, and I have requested not to auto renew previously in the past which they blatantly ignored. They would continue to charge people whatever they want without notice with no regard for their customer.

Ordered a GQ Box with an offer from my credit card. After purchase they said Id get a shirt in my box with an $100 value. I reached out to GQ Box same day to ask what size they offered. My size wasnt an option. I requested to cancel, but said I could get either a pair of socks ($12 value) or a face mask ($5 value), but not both in place of the shirt. The socks I received are knee high bright pink socks. Im a single guy. I dont know why they cant add an FAQ on their website with size info. Box arrived and its a ton of junk. Random samples of mens products that GQ likely got for free. For example shoe cleaner, $5 soap, $5 candle, drink mix, etc. I went to each product company site and the total did add up for the $50 I paid.

On 10/1 I purchased an Allure beauty box subscription, a box of products promoted by the magazine. On 10/4, I got a notification that it was shipped, but the tracking information was inactive. On 10/11, I contacted customer service about the issue. I did not get a response. On 10/12, I decided to cancel my subscription and contacted customer service again. I did not get a response. And I did not get the box. I want a full refund, and nothing to do with this company that uses the name of the magazine to attract customers, but basically just takes peoples money and doesnt operate in any way.
