      The company will not let me access my account because the address they have on file is somehow incorrect. They will not provide a different method to verify my identity.

      I agree with all the reviews.. MUTUAL OF AMERICA IS THE WORSTTTTTT.. Why is it so hard to get your money.. You call and everyone tells you different things. I requested direct deposit and was told that it would be deposited in my account.. When I called to inquire because I never received it, I was told a check was sent... DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DEAL IF THIS INCOMPETENT COMPANY.... THEY ARE THE WORSTTTTTT!!!!!@

      completely agree with all the others. i requested that a large withdrawl be deposited directly in my bank account; so indicated on the form and attached a sample check with routing number clearly shown. Ten days later got an email that withdrawl had been processed and would be received in 3-5 business days. ten days later i sent another mail that nothing had been received - no response. Finally a week later i called, after 45 minutes and five different untrue excuses, it turns out they had issued a check and mailed it to our overseas address because the sample check i had sent was in jpg format and their system can only handle pdf (not mentioned in instructions of course). Now it will take them additional thirty days to cancel the check and confirm its cancellation before they deposit the money. If they finally get it right this time, i will at very least have lost almost sixty (60) days interest on a rather large sum . will be very glad to be finally rid of MOA Unfortunately most people who end up with accounts there ( teachers, workers at non-profits) didnt get a choice of where their TDA would be held

      Absolutely the WORST customer service ever. It has not always been this way. I used to be happy with them. But they have a lot of my money, but their customer service is USELESS. I spent over an hour being transferred, put on hold, telling my story over and over, and in the end they did not answer a simple question about my account allocations.

      Unbelievably awful service. I cannot comprehend how a company can be this disorganized and incompetent. NEVER open an account with this embarrassment of an institution, you will regret it.

      This company is useless. I had them through a job. When I tried to get the funds rolled over to a different company as I was no longer employed there they instead canceled my account and charged me interest on the funds. At the time they could only "fix the issue through mail" so I filled out the form and mailed it in. I thought I fixed the problem after that but alas that was not the case. 4 years later - they claim my money (that they never transferred) was sitting with them and about to be surrendered to the ***. I then spent 2 months back and forth with them over the phone to no avail. I called several different numbers and no one would ever call me back. I would call the main line, be told I would be transferred to a supervisor then told "sorry no one is available right now, they'll call you back within 24 hours". By the time I was actually speaking to somebody who could actually help me it was too late and they "surrendered" my money.

      Mutual of America is the worst. I would not trust my money with them ever. I've had 401K with other companies and never had an issue with withdrawing my money I actually get it within 3 to 7 business days. I have not been employed since February 13th I am trying to withdraw my funds they keep giving me different stories and now they're saying I can't withdraw my funds until my account shows inactive. My former HR department has sent several emails with only one response. I keep asking for a supervisor I get told to call back in an hour that there's none available this is ridiculous. By the looks of it I'm not the only one that has issues with them or had issues with them so good thing I have lawyers in my family. My family is suffering they're quick to take my money but very very slow to giving me my money.

      Mutual of America is the worst! Do NOT trust them with your money. I've spoken to nearly 20 employees and 2 managers over a month and a half period, and none of them have an answer for why I've been waiting so long in order to receive my retirement account fund distribution. Several employees have lied to me and/or withheld key information (i.e. multiple delays in processing) from me along the way. I've called, emailed, and complained, and there has been zero sense of urgency from any MoA employee to get me my payout, much less compensate me for my troubles. There have been times where I've wanted to cuss them out, but I've refrained from doing so. The bottom line is that they are the worst company that I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with.

      Zero stars. I filed a hardship in mid December because I was facing eviction. This company has been jerking me around since then. I have done everything they asked me and have called 2x a week since mid Jan, only to be denied.

      They send a withdrawal form. I return it filled out 1/24 or 1/27. I call a week later and they tell me it's filled out incorrectly. I fill it out correctly and send it back. I hear nothing. I call a week later. They say everything is good, **** days to process and 3-5 days for EFT. Its now 2/20. I call and they tell me that I was sent the wrong form and they need a different one filled out. So they take no initiative in handling anything. They drag their feet and have no diligence. So almost a month later and I've not received my funds and still have to jump through more hoops. Absolutely unacceptable. As soon as I am able, I am taking all of my funds from this place and rolling over to a better company. I am fuming.
