We purchased our solar system from Radiant Solar on 11-22-2022. I have been in contact with them over several calls for the past 1.5 years, and my issues remain unresolved.1.IRS Tax Audit Notice: I received a tax audit notice from the *** requesting several pieces of information that Radiant Solar must provide me by July 20th, 2024. I contacted Radiant Solar on Tuesday, July 2nd, and am still waiting to receive what I need. The highest priority right now is to get a work order or invoice (or similar) that would serve as proof of the make and model of the solar panels installed in my home (information needs to include my name, address, and make and model of solar panels installed). We then need to obtain a certification letter from the manufacturer stating that the solar panels listed qualify for the federal tax credit, as advertised by Radiant Solar.2.Welcome Checks: I received my first welcome check in Feb/Mar 2023. I have continuously called since then and was told the payments are on hold every time I call. I need the remaining 2 payments to be paid, as advertised and promised. 3.Meter Installation Issue: One of the three meters needs to be installed properly with the solar system. While ConEd system is configured correctly for all 3 meters, the *** account is not generating credits. I contacted ConEd several times, and they stated RadiantSolar must correct the issue with the setup of my system to generate credits as initially requested on the purchase date. I alerted Radiant Solar of this issue in Sept, November and December 2023, but they said they didnt have an installer on staff and would contact me when someone was hired. I alerted them again in July 2023, and they said I would be put on the schedule (similar to what they told me in Nov/Dec 2023), but this has yet to happen.4.NY Property Tax Abatement Filing: I need proof of the filing for the NY Property Tax Abatement Incentives as advertised by Radiant Solar. Please help me remediateCustomer Answer

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Radiant Solar regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Radiant Solar contacted me ONLY to ask me to take the BBB complaint down, not to resolve the situation. I made clear what I needed from them, and they have stopped responding to me or answering my calls at this time. I am working with my lawyer and sent them a demand letter on the items that I need. As of today (Aug 11th, 2024) there has been no response.
I remain hopeful and optimistic Radiant Solar will respond to my complaint and work with me to resolve as soon as possible.
Please see a copy of the demand letter we sent over to them:
ATTN: William Bushell and Ilyas Aksabaev- ****************** ****************************************************************)
Please be advised that this office has been retained by ******* ******** (hereinafter referred to as Client) regarding several ongoing issues concerning their account with ********************.
It has come to the attention of this office that Client has been in frequent contact with Radiant Solar for over one and a half years to resolve several ongoing issues. To date those issues have yet to be resolved. First and foremost, Client received a tax audit notice from the *** which contained a request for information that Radiant Solar must provide by July 20, 2024. Unfortunately, and despite ******* efforts, that date has now passed which has in turn made Client out of compliance with the **** request. As such we hereby request an attestation from Radiant Solar to confirm the make and model of the Solar Panels Client purchased on November 22, 2024. The aforesaid request must be complied with immediately. Towards that end Client kindly and prudently drafted a letter for Radiant Solar to sign and return. While Radiant Solar did return the letter it was returned unsigned. In closing, Client either needs the aforementioned letter returned and signed on Radiant Solar letterhead, or Radiant Solar needs to send their own letter addressing the previously discussed requirements.
Moreover, in order to comply with the ***s requirements, Radiant Solar must provide a certification letter from the manufacturer of the subject solar panels. Said letter must state that the subject solar panels qualify for a tax credit as advertised by Radiant Solar. Kindly be reminded that any such certificates must not be from a third party.
In addition, Client received their first welcome check in February or March of 2023. Since then Client has continuously contacted Radiant Solar to attempt to collect their rightful two (2) remaining payments, as your office advertised and promised. To date Client is still owed $3,432.00 from your office. Client also does not have proof of any required tax abatement filing. As such, Client rightfully and lawfully demands payment in the amount of $3,432.00 immediately upon receipt of this letter. Moreover, Client hereby demands proof that the aforementioned tax abatement filing was filed as your office advertised and promised. Without proof Client, and your office, may not be in compliance with the **** requirements.
Furthermore, this office has been advised that one of the three meters located at the above referenced premises needs to be installed with a properly functioning and lawful solar system. The subject residence is a duplex, containing two units, and there are three meters located at the residence. While the Con ****** system is configured correctly for all three meters, the subject PLP account is not generating credits. After frequent correspondences with Con ******, Client was advised that Radiant Solar must correct the aforesaid issue to ensure that the subject system generates credits. Kindly be reminded that this was required and requested as of the purchase date. Moreover, Client has alerted Radiant Solar of the aforementioned issue in September, November and December of 2023, to no avail. Client had again alerted Radiant Solar of the aforementioned issue in July of 2023, to which Radiant Solar stated that Client would be scheduled for service, which has yet to occur.
Please be advised that the above required and requested servicing needs to be attended to immediately. It is our understanding that wiring needs to be remedied or the meters located at the subject premises need to be combined. Please be reminded that Con ****** has been contacted several times and they have repeatedly confirmed that your office must handle the aforementioned task.
In conclusion, we urge your office to comply with the above requests and requirements in good faith and in a timely manner. Please be advised that Client has substantial evidence in their favor alluding to detrimental reliance, negligence, distress, and various other claims. Kindly be aware that ******* reserve all rights and remedies available at law and at equity. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact this office.Sincerely,

Hello valued client, thanks for providing your feedback.
1. We sent your sales invoice in Q1 of 2023. When requested to provide the *** and manufacturer certifications, this was provided in July of 2024. These are all attached to the response to your complaint. Please note: Radiant Solar never guarantees tax incentives.
2. You cashed the final welcome check we sent on August 20th.
3. Each one of your meters is registered with Con Edison.
4. The PTA4 document has been attached to the responseBusiness Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Thank you for your response. However, I need to re-clarify the ongoing issue, as it seems to be a lack of accountability and activity to help resolve the situation.
While I appreciate that your monitoring report shows the system is producing, this does not address the specific issue Ive outlined multiple times. There are three meters for my solar system, but only two of them are properly configured and generating credits. The third meter remains improperly set up, which ConEd has confirmed repeatedly is an issue that Radiant Solar must resolve to ensure credits are generated on the *** account as originally agreed upon.I have been waiting for Radiant Solar to take accountability and provide a resolution for over a year. I have followed up numerous times and was assured I would be added to the schedule, yet no action has been taken to date. This is unacceptable, especially given the clear confirmation from ConEd that the problem lies with the physical setup performed by your company.
To reiterate:
1/The ConEd system is correctly configured, but the *** account is not generating credits due to an unresolved physical setup issue with the third meter.
2/I am requesting that Radiant Solar take accountability and send a technician to resolve this as soon as possible.
3/I am still waiting to be scheduled, despite promises made in November 2023, December 2023, and July 2024, and still no action as of November 2024.I ask that you escalate this matter and prioritize its resolution without further delay. Please confirm when a technician will be scheduled to address this issue.

I met with the representative from Radiant Solar who explained everything to me. the panels were placed May 2023. Public Works representative came and checked the job twice. I never heard again from radiant , and I kept calling all the numbers I had at the time. My credit score later showed an entry for $ ******, then I realized that the entire amount was placed on my Credit Report. I eventually found a new number and contacted them again .So, January Radiant sent me the PTA4 form to send in to **** OF WORKS JAN 2024.i I indicated to Radiant that i was not receiving any Electricity from the Solar. Con ****** indicated that the Solar set up was not functioning. I asked that a technician return to the house to fix the problem, they continued promising to send someone and up to this date, No one came. Now they are not taking my calls and putting me on voice mail.. I even went to the address at the time and heard that they moved a very long time ago from the Apartment building at *******************************. I recently got the ******** address. I understand that I have to start paying September. I never signed a Contract with this company, or paid any money. I tried to get another Solar Company to fix it , to no avail.I am requesting if BBB can get this company to fix this problem and finish the Job. I need solar since my Electricity bill is increasing. Also I am concerned that that large outstanding balance is affecting my Credit score.Business Response

April 13, 2023 Attention to Better Business Re: non working panels solar To whom it may concern Dear Sir or Mme ** October 2023, I had an agreement with Radiant Solar to install a solar system for me so that my electricity bill will be reduced to zero or very less expensive. They made me take a loan from Goodleap for $45,000.00 to pay them. I am writing to file a complaint against Radiant Solar. In December 2022, I contracted with them to install a 6k solar unit on my property. The agreement included provisions for solar power to the *** and 1st floor account. The installation for the *** account was completed in March. However, as of now, the connection to the 1st floor remains incomplete. This delay has caused significant inconvenience and has not met the contractual agreement required of Radiant Solar. In addition to the incomplete installation, I have yet to receive the full payment of my welcome check, which was promised to me upon completion of the installation. Despite reaching out to Radiant Solar multiple times over the past year, I have not received any confirmation on when the installation at the 1st floor will be completed or when I will receive the balance of my welcome check.I kindly request the assistance of the BBB in resolving these issues. I look forward to a swift resolution to these matters.Business Response

I saw an advertisement online in December of 2023 for Solar panels. I filled out the required information online, and a sales representative visited me shortly after. He informed me as to what they offer, I signed up with the financing company and although there was a slight difference in what the financing company told me and the sale representative told me, I proceeded. On Friday January 19, 2024, the truck with material and equipment showed up to deliver, without confirming the delivery and infact was promised to be delivered on Thursday January 18, 2024.The delivery was left infront my driveway, blocking my vehicle in. I contacted ***** ( sales representative) to inform him that I needed to delivery to be moved as I had to use my vehicle for work at 12pm. The delivery was never moved until 1:37pm.I had to hire a vehicle in place of my vehicle, I was reimbursed for it.On January 20 and 21, 2024, the solar panels were installed. On the night of Friday February 16, 2024, snow fell and it accumulated on my roof. On the morning of Sunday February 18, 2024, I noticed water was leakingvthough my roof directly under the solar panels. The water was leaking through multiple spots including through a ceiling fan with a light, onto a bed on the top floor, onto the wood floor of the top floor, through the ceiling of the second floor, with part of the ceiling on the second floor dropping, onto the wooden floor of the second floor, through the ceiling of the ground floor, and unto a bed.I called a roofing company and they came on the said Sunday, February 18, 2024, and we went up on the roof, the roofer effortlessly lifted the silicone that was used to seal the holes used to bolt the solar panels, and informed me that's where it was leaking from, and that they should have used tar to seal as they did for the bracket with the pipe they ran.He also showed me that he couldn't do any repair at the time since no space was left at the borderline of the roof.Business Response

Hello valued client, thank you for your feedback. There was unexpected inclement weather the day your installation was initially scheduled so we were unable to commence work that day. Unfortunately, it was too late to cancel the material delivery with the vendor and the material drop off temporarily blocked your driveway, which was eventually rectified and you were reimbursed for the trouble as you stated. You informed us of the leak at your property on a Sunday, and due to rain that Monday and Tuesday, we were able to rectify the issue on Wednesday 2/21. Even though we are contractually obligated to correct any roofing issues in the service area under our warranty, we temporarily removed the panels to allow your roofer to seal the penetrations per your wishes. This was done in good faith with the understanding that the panels would then be reinstalled. We have also offered to compensate you for the damages resulting from the leak.Customer Answer

Radiant Solar communicated to me that's being compensated for damages incurred due to their negligence will only be fulfilled if I continue with their service/contract.
The Monday 02/19/24 and Tuesday 02/20/24 after I called on Sunday 02/18/24, there were no rain on those days. Infact the two excuses given were that (1) they'll see when tge tram is available.
(2) the temperature was too cold to apply the the silicone.
So as usual, in this response it's a misrepresentation of facts.
The weather history can prove there was no rain on the two days as indicated in their response.

An absolute nightmare! Not exaggerating the worst experience with a home project we have ever had. Radiant Solar has demonstrated that they are incompetent, dishonest, and unresponsive. It took them nearly 6 months to install the solar panels and have them pass inspection with NYC Buildings. Literally, they needed four inspections because they either failed (having not installed the system correctly) or the Radiant Solar technician failed to show up altogether. Then, we learned after several months that they had completely botched the installation and put the wrong size inverter for the size of the household system. As a result OUR SOLAR HAS NOY GENERATED ANY CREDITS FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. We have, to-date, received negative value from working with Radiant Solar. Worse-off than before we had the panels because we are paying for a $50k paper weight bolted to our roof.We have been servicing the debt, interest, and the asset has been depreciating, without benefit, for 11 months. In terms of customer service, its completely absent. I have emailed, called, and texted all of the contacts at Radiant Solar and they have still not resolved the issue or offered restitution for their screwup.Unfortunately, it looks like Im going to have to have to proceed with litigation against Radiant Solar to recoup damages.Do not work with Radiant Solar. Find anybody else.Customer Answer

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Radiant Solar regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved
After 15 months, and having paid over $50,000 for a solar system from Radiant Solar, we have derived no zero benefit from the solar array. Radiant Solar has not fixed the problem, nor have they provided any settlement to sufficiently cover damages. This will, Im afraid, require legal action.
I would not recommend Radiant Solar to my worst enemy. They have been negligent, unresponsive, and incompetent at every interaction.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Hello valued client, thank you for your feedback. The solar system at your property has been producing electricity since 11/30/2022, as indicated by the online monitoring system. Despite this, you have yet to receive any credits towards your Con ****** account. After many attempts to troubleshoot the issue, ********** finally informed the company in late October that the system was connected to the wrong meter. At this point, Radiant Solar offered to cover the full cost of electricity charges incurred by you since the system was turned on and to get the system connected to the correct meter, but you rejected our offer and instead demanded an excessive settlement plus a replacement of the inverter. The 6kW inverter installed at the property has a ************ rating of 9600 *****, which is more than sufficient for the number of panels that were installed. The inverter is not below industry standards as you claim.
Despite the issues with your credits, you have not made any out of pocket payments towards the system during this time, as you were provided with a rebate covering the first 18 monthly financing payments for the solar system. The images of the two checks are attached to the response.
Radiant Solar's desire to resolve this situation amicably has not changed. Our commitment to get the solar system connected to the correct meter and reimburse you for your electric bills still stands, provided we receive the necessary access to your property for changing the connection.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:**************************
**********************************************************************************************
***************** |*********************************
I am happy to provide the BBB all the evidence you need to prove that Radiant Solar has breached their contract and dismissed my repeated efforts to escalate this issue to senior management, giving me no other option but to incur thousands of dollars in legal fees to seek redress. Furthermore, and to this day, the solar PV system we paid $51,500 for has provided no financial benefits, in the form of solar credits, to our property whatsoever.
This response has been structured into four sections:
No electric benefits from the system - The Solar PV system installed by Radiant Solar has provided no solar credits whatsoever, violating the contract and making our $51,500 system a purely decorative paper weight.
Culpability for improper installation lays solely with Radiant Solar All culpability for the failed solar pv installation rests with Radiant Solar as acknowledged and documented by Radiant Solars CEO, Radiant Solars Technician, ************************ and Solar Medix, a third-party solar installer.
Radiant Solar ignored our complaints and have had 18 months of unfettered access to our home
Radiant Solars actions have caused us to incur damage far greater than merely the electric bills Only after I sought legal action did Radiant Solar take my complaints seriously. Aside from legal and electric fees, this process has distracted me from billable client work, reducing my earnings.
No electric benefits from the system
Very simply: A solar PV system, which was purchased for $51,500 has provided no benefits, in the form of solar credits on our electric bill, from the day that Radiant Solar alleged that the installation was completed.
To prove that this is true, I have attached the recent electric bills for our property neither registers any solar credits.
See Exhibits 1a and 1b
Culpability for improper installation lays solely with Radiant Solar
Second, there is a question of, Was Radiant Solar responsible for this improper installation?
The answer to this question is uncontroversially, Yes.
Radiant Solars CEO, Radiant Solars Technician, ************************ and Solar Medix, a third-party solar installer have all acknowledged that Radiant Solar failed in their responsibilities to connect our system to the grid.
Con ****** attests that Radiant Solar failed to install our system correctly for us to receive benefits See Exhibit 2
Solar Medix, an impartial third-party inspected our solar system and confirmed that Radiant Solar was at fault for not connecting the system to the meter correctly -- See Exhibit 3
Radiant Solar, both its CEO, James Bushell, and the technician arriving at my home were recorded, admitting that Radiant Solar had failed to install the system properly. See Exhibit 4, a video recording of ******, Radiant Solars technician at our home
Radiant Solar ignored our complaints and have had 18 months of unfettered access to our home
From the time that it was apparent that we were receiving no solar credits on our Con ********************* a month or two -- we have worked to get Radiant Solar to: i) Fix the issue with our system; and ii) Adhere to the sales contract.
Roughly half-a-dozen times, Radiant Solar technicians have come to our home. They have always been given unfettered access to our home and solar PV system. However, responses are best measured in months, or quarters, and over that time, no progress has been made.
In good faith, I sought to resolve this issue. We were ignored.
After roughly 18 months, 100+ attempted outreaches phone calls, emails, texts (Im happy to provide phone and email records), and in-person technician house calls and over 100 hours of lost time, we are worse off than when we started, having incurred thousands of dollars in damages attempting to get Radiant Solars attention to fix the issue.
Radiant Solar provided us with countless excuses for why several months passed between technicians coming to our home. In one incident, they told us a whopper, claiming that their technicians could not come to our house for a month because they were observing a Jewish holiday. The only problem was that my wife, who is Jewish, informed them that there was no Jewish holiday during the period in question. Radiant Solar, caught in this absurd lie, attempted to backpedaltruly bizarre behavior.
Both Radiant Solars HQ (main phone contact) and technicians were dismissive and actively refused to provide me with the name and contact details for someone in management to whom I could escalate the issue for resolution.
It took over a year of complaints before I was allowed to speak to a manager. Once.
It was only after we sought legal advice and representation, costing me thousands of dollars, would Radiant Solars senior management speak with me and take this issue seriously.
***** ******** ******** CEO, only first called me on 15 November 2023 roughly a year after the system had been installed.
In December, Radiant Solars technicians were again granted access to our home but were unable to fix the issue. I have little confidence in both their capabilities and their will to do their job.
Radiant Solars actions have caused us to incur damage far greater than merely the electric bills
Radiant Solars attorney provided us with a comical settlement agreement See Exhibit 5 where they offered to pay $5,349.00 less than the cost of legal fees (never mind other compensatory damages) without admission of fault or promise to finish the installation of our Solar PV system.
Radiant Solars dismal customer service has forced me, through no fault of my own, to treat this matter like a part-time job: calling them; emailing them; finding an attorney; gathering evidence; wasting my weekend time; taking 100 hours of my time away from billable work all because they have demonstrated for 18 months a willful refusal to do their job or honor their contract.
I derive no joy zero from bringing this complaint to your attention, or in seeking the help of an attorney to represent our case. I am doing it because we have no other choice. Radiant Solar will not act unless there is the force of law behind it.
After a year of inaction by Radiant Solar, it was evident that had I not sought legal assistance, we would still be saddled with a completely useless $51,500 solar system on our roof, servicing both the loan for the panels and the full electric bill since we were deriving no credits to lessen the sting.
Radiant Solars counsel is attempting to paint me as a gold digger, claiming that Im out for money.
I can tell you with absolute clarity, that as I write this at 11PM on my weekend, that: i)This is not a profit-making endeavor. If I were after money, I would be far better off taking the time attempting to get Radiant Solar to do their job and directing it toward my regular day job; iii) The sums we are speaking of are paltry; iv) If we could reverse time, we never would have hired Radiant Solar.
This is not about money, its about accountability. Radiant Solar is responsible for the worst customer experience of my life. They need to own their mistake, apologize for it, fix the problem with the solar PV system, and compensate me and my wife for our legal fees and opportunity cost of wasted time. Simple.
Thank you,
*********************** & *****************************
P.S.Radiant Solar has known that the ************************ has been trying to get in contact with them since before February See Exhibit 6.Radiant Solars delayed response is wholly their own.In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
