    I opened an account a year ago placed a $700 deposit on the account only one bill cycled out of it so when I started calling andmessaging asking where my bills are a rude customer service representative told me probably sitting in the ************* postal system been somewhere with no address Fast-forward I got a bill for an account number that I dont even own they are saying that somebody stole my information and opened up account ironically to my service address and now if they dont get the money, they will shut me off. They claim to have also mail mea rebate check, which I did not get And shows that it was cashed on their end.

    Simple complaint: I have auto pay enabled on my account and I chose to make an early payment, which brought my account balance down to $0. Then 3 days later, Central Hudson auto pay charges my credit card again for the amount that was due from the previous month, resulting in a double payment (and I now have a negative account balance). I called Central Hudson to request a refund of the money they over-billed. They refused to issue me a refund because I don't live at an address that **** delivers to (they offered to mail via *****, then called back a week later saying they can't). They also refused to issue a refund to my original payment method (credit card). Unfortunately no one in their service department had any interest in helping figure out why auto pay would charge my credit card despite having a $0 balance, so I'm posting this here hoping the company will simply investigate the problem so it doesn't impact other customers. The solution to this problem is to disable auto pay. Don't trust their automatic billing system.

    I paid my Central Hudson bill on April 17, 2024. I received an e-mail from them on 4/21/2024 saying that my bill was due on the 4/18/2024. If I didn't open it to see that I owed 0 and just would have paid what the main page said, I would have been double billed. This is not the first time this has happened with them. You would think that they have a system that when a bill is paid, you don't send out another bill asking to to pay it again.

    This company is famous for over charging customers. I have solar panels and they have overcharged me on my electric bill. I been disbursing a bill since last month. Called them many times over the past year and am always told a senior representative would give me a call and they never do.They have poor customer service and their accountability to customers is 0 to none.

    My bills have been outrageous!!! I was on the phone with them for 2 hrs - Still got crazy explanations - My bill was from central ******************************* energy services - a combined bill. I never signed up for Direct Energy Services - So I have cancelled them - I own a very small house. They claim that these are not combined costs - well why are they listed seperately - & then the total is the combined billing? I believe it must be illegal to sign me up for something because I didn't "opt out" - Last month my bill was $1700 & I have solar panels! I would like to look into suing Both Central Hudson & the 3rd party that I did not sign up for - Does anyone else know how I can can go about this?

    Why are they allowed to bill us so much? They are one of the companies driving me south. Why is everyone leaving **? Taxes and companies like Central Hudson. Its sad.

    Central Hudson is fine for service, but their customer service is remarkable poor. Anytime you want to get in touch with more then a superficial question, you will be on hold for ***** minutes. Their call back feature never seems to work, and getting any account support is unnecessarily convoluted and belabored.

    Central Hudson is attempting to collect a bill from two years ago and have already notified collections. They never made any attempt in two years to collect this bill before notice of collections. Have not lived in address for two years. Asked to speak to supervisor, company said un able to reach supervisor. They have three different lawsuits pending right now due to un-ethical billing practices.

    Always losing power to include every holiday weekend. No power = no heat. No power = no A/C. They dont seem to have any plan to make things work properly.

    ZERO STARS!!! If there was another utility company option in our area we would run to them! UNFORTUNATELY, CH has a monopoly and leaves us, as the consumer, with no choice but to "TAKE IT" from them. I will say, the people (5 of them so far) I have dealt with on the phone have tried to be helpful in dealing with my concerns but they are left in the difficult position of dealing with frustrated customers with little to no support from CH and unable to get the billing issues rectified. Every time I speak with someone new I get a different and confusing explanation of my bill...not to mention the monthly misc. charges that ***** can explain! They have charged me fees for an error THEY made twice on their end within the past month. After 5 calls and an attempt to email them on the form they provide online I am still dealing with trying to get the charges removed. THEY ARE THE WORST!!!
