      I ended my 12-year relationship with Superior Propane of Potsdam about 1 month ago. The circumstances of my termination with them is not what I care to discuss or reflective of the 1 Star rating. The reason for this writing is that when I contacted another provider to remove the Superior tanks and install theirs, the new provider would not reinstall their tanks due to the code violations which existed on the initial Superior installation.
      It was explained to me that Superior had run a high pressure 1/4-inch line through our enclosed basement (approximately 60 feet to our outdoor generator) in violation of building code. It was explained to me that lines going into or through a confined space, such as an enclosed basement, must be connected at the tank with a low-pressure regulator (2 PSI) and not the high pressure (10 PSI) which Superior had used.
      I was shocked as well as angered that when I paid Superior to do the installation it was not done correctly and ultimately placed our lives and property in jeopardy. I learned that my trust in a professional coming to my home and fulfilling our needs, does not automatically work on one's best interest. The new installation cost me almost $600.00 (a low-pressure regulator and 60+ feet of 1/2" copper line) and explained the hundreds I spent having the generator service person travel to my home only to tell me that issue relating to the operation of the generator was related to the fuel supply.
      I write this review because I believe that the haphazard and potentially life and property damaging install at my residence is not the only one done by this business. I'd like to encourage you to review your installation, if done by Superior and do your part to verify compliance with code. I have pictures available to justify this review.

      Avoid this conpany at all costs. After a surprise “low usage fee” that had never been collected in more than a decade, they charged a neighbor $75 for tank removal, and me $165. After multiple requests to speak tk a supervisor, they refused a promise for a cLl back by supervisor after numerous requests were never granted.

      FYI STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This company made a mistake four years ago and switched the wrong tanks and I was paying for my neighbors fuel and they were paying mine. Problem? big time, considering I live alone and my neighbor is a family. No apology, no conversation that would rectify and take care of me being overcharged. I tried talking and they "were going to get back to me, ya right" I am warning my all to go somewhere else. Thy stink! Susan

      TERRIBLE COMPANY. I called over 9 days ago when my tanks were at 20% requesting a delivery of propane...still no propane. Called over 50 times since Monday telling them I am at home with a ONE YEAR OLD! No heat or hot water. They said "go buy a space heater..." Told me to get my driveway sanded...paid to have my driveway sanded TWICE...never showed up. This is starting to become a safety concern...
      Tried calling more local propane companies they won't deliver to tanks that are not theirs...safe to say we are switching companies come spring.
      WORST customer service I have ever dealt with.

      Bought my old company out and are charging unbelievable prices and all you get is a runaround when you try to deal with them awful to price gouge the residents of western North Carolina after a natural disaster

      I have had a very unpleasant experience with this company. Customer service falls flat more times than not. There is no communication whatsoever. There have been similar issues in the past, but recently, they sent people to my house while I was working, even though I was told I would be called the day before. I called them back to complain and they said "I'll see what we can do. We will call you back. " They then send someone out without telling me again while I was working. They finally got to my house around 8 in the evening. After speaking with the manager Gus, I was given the impression that everything was paid for and taken care of. Upon calling to schedule a refill I was told that there was a balance on my account. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he would call me back. Once again, I received no such call. I am very upset and I have now switched companies. This extremely unprofessional and not how business should be done.

      My dad has been a customer for 20 years, and I have been for just a year. There were issues that needed to get resolved, BUT these issues had nothing to do with deception. Things can go wrong or get mixed up. SO, call and be polite, and the folks in office will help get it corrected. Their service tech are 10 out of 10. No matter the weather conditions, btw! So, if you have a bad experience, talk with them, they will make it right!
      People seem to have plenty of time to complain but can't be bother to acknowledge a job well done.

      Superior bought out ******** ******* and service has gone down since. I am on the automatic refill list but no delivery recently so I called in. The problem is calling in puts you on the whole Superior call center and the wait is 30 minutes or longer.
      Four calls and a visit to my local office. Each said I'm on the list but four days later and no propane.
      I will be switching suppliers to get better service. Superior is too big!!

      This is a horrible company. We are on automatic refill and we ran out of gas Wed Jan 22, 2025. They do not care about the customers, they do not call you back and they do not show up and refill your tank when they say they will. They treat you like you are just a number. Do not get an account with them, you will freeze!

      100% DO NOT RECCOMEND
      Lack of communication
      Will cancel on you without notice allowing you to go without heat
      Literally charged us 2 prices for gas on receipt which was increasingly more than our previous when we had alot more done ? Zero sense
