I hired the movers over the phone Late October to pick up my belongings on November 1st (which they delayed to November 2nd) and to deliver my stuff from the Bronx, ** to my new home in *********, **. They guaranteed they will deliver it within 2 weeks time, and yet we're approaching a month and they still haven't decided a date or time they will deliver my belongings to my new home.I have repeatedly been in contacted with the company on a regular basis every other day, every week during the month and they have given me excuses after excuses. Also, they originally quoted me 900 dollars, to than inflate it to **** on day before picking up my belongings. And after which, they inflated the price to **** dollars.I just called them today. NOVEMBER 29th, after being assured they was going to deliver my belongings today to be told yet again they're delayed. They also have charged me for inadequate services that they flat out denied to do on said pick up date. The services was to dispose of items and furniture, and the movers that date refused to do so, yet are charging me for the services.

It may have been resolved, in regards I finally got my belongings.  But it took a whole Month and a half. ON TOP OF them overcharging me and not compensating for me having to purchase things like home goods, clothes while I had such in their possession.  So my complaint is still valid and would like it reflected as such.

      Sincerely,

This is the worst moving company ever, DO NOT USE THEM, they are unprofessional and unorganized and will rip you off, hired the company for a move from Queens to Long Island, the guy came looked at everything that was going to have to be packed and moved and gave me a quote of about $2200, day of move, movers came, had no clue what they were doing, didnt even know they were supposed to *************** in my apartment, brought wardrobe boxes with no metal bar, all clothing items were shoved into boxes, everything wrinkled, tons of things broken or scratched, when they finally get to the house in *** they tell me the total charge is $4700, naturally I flip out because this is an absurd charge and hugely steep jump from the quoted price, and guess what no one can do a **** thing about it, had to pay them before they started unloading anything or else they would have just left with my belongings. Horrible horrible company, stay far away!

I hired this moving company to move my furniture on 8/28/22 and they charged me $951.25. They refuse to unload your belongings from their truck until you pay via cash/zelle/venmo and they confirm the payment clears. After they unloaded my items, I found that thousands of dollars worth of furniture was ruined due to the movers not using any protective covers/padding. The movers told me when items are damaged during the move, it is the customers fault for buying cheap furniture. I filed a claim with the company and it took me almost two months to finally get someone from their claims department to speak with me and address my claim. I requested a full refund as the items damaged will cost me more than double the cost of the move itself to replace. They refused and offered me a settlement of $138 on 10/24/22 by sending me a text in which they wanted me to reply with my zelle or venmo account information. I replied with my information and have followed up multiple times and still have not even received the settlement payment of $138. I am trying to obtain a full refund from this company and have not been successful.

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Tri-State Area Moving & Storage Corp. regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      [Your Answer Here]

The company has contacted me and has finally credited me $138, telling me to use this to hire a furniture restoration company to try to fix all of the damages to my pieces. This will cost me well over $138 but I accepted the money because the supervisor refused to give me any more and I would rather receive $138 than $0. I want others to be warned not hire this company because their employees will not treat your belongings with care and the supervisor does not care. They should unload your items and you should be able to inspect them before you pay, but that is not their process because they know no one would pay them $950 after they just ruined thousands of dollars worth of furniture.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

They did really good job packing my stuff up. I was told it may be a little more than what I was quoted. Well it ended up costing almost 3 times my initial estimate! If I knew this was the case, I would have used someone else, or bought all new furniture! It took 14 days for my things to be delivered, when I was told 4-9 days. My things wouldn't be released until payment was excepted through a third party like Cashapp. Items were missing and damaged. I was told the screws were missing ************ couldn't be put back together. Overall a horrible experience, and a rip off...Initial estimate was for *****. Then was charged ***** to receive my items.

I called this company in search for moving quote in July 2022 for a move planned on October 1,2022. I spoke with a representative ****** who gave me a quote to move furniture for my townhouse which consists of 17 steps to main level and 17 steps to a loft which was clearly communicated via this telephone call. Not to mention I had used this company prior to transfer furniture from this loft to the main level once before. I was quoted $950 for all the furniture to be moved, which I paid weekly up until my move in date. About 2 weeks prior to my move in date I called and spoke with another representative and made her aware that I sold a dresser, mirror and bedroom side table and would it be possible to substitute those items for boxes, she told me " Sure it's free of charge, you already paid for the square footage, so whatever you can fit into the truck." Approx 1 weeks prior to my move I received a confirmation phone call and a thank you for paying my bill early. The company graciously moved my date from 10/1 to 9/30 for an early move in for 8am. Three workers arrived to my house smelling like marijuana and proceeded to move my things which took about 2 hours longer than expected. Mind you I moved in the same complex from house number 52 to 33 utilizing no gas or wear and tear on the truck. The workers were compensated with lunch, snacks, water and $100 tip each, with an hour lunch break. At the end of my visit, one worker shows me a bill on his phone for $2,357 and states that's the additional expense I incurred from the time spent moving. I told him I paid already. Stated he would make a "phone call to see what he can do". After the worker made the phone call stated I needed to Zelle the owner and additional $919 for my move for time, square footage, second flight of steps. After the workers left I looked over my invoice which was not mine, and I went back to my apartment where they left several items for me to remove, and broke my furniture.

Feels like a scam. The actually workers who did the move were great. However the quote we were originally given of $8,000+ was off by $6,000.They never offered to come to the house and do the quote but rather said over the phone was sufficient.Half is due when the truck is loaded and the other half when your stuff arrives. They only take cash or money order. They say they take Zelle but 2k is the limit with Zelle. Our house was moved out on a Saturday. It is not humanly possible to get cash or money orders on a Sunday. Therefore our stuff was held an extra day till we could get to the bank. We have three dogs and two kids (one with emotional needs) so you can imagine what an ordeal it was to find all this out.Main point being that they made their estimate sound appealing then somehow told us we owe an additional 6k!Feels like a scam as we shopped around and went with the best offer.Getting someone on the phone to discuss this has been impossible. Yet they somehow always answer when they think you want to book a move.Being off by 6k on an estimate and expecting people to just have that in their back pocket is ********. Especially when you dont take credit card.We move again in a year and at this point in time will be using a different company. We were originally going to use PODS to save us money and they talked us out of it. We would have saved close to 10k using Pods.We then received the text of the image attached when we told them about ****** review. Many items were damaged. Awaiting recourse.
