Picked up oil multiple time from my restaurant in Akron. Never sent check. This company will not call me back after leaving several messages. Filing police report for theft and hiring a new company to manage these needs now that I have another restaurant opening soon. I would still like paid for the time they have picked up oil in the last year.Business Response

We have no record of a payment request from this business. A letter was mailed on 6/24/2022 that explains payment requests and frequently asked questions. A payment request has been sent to the appropriate department and a check will be issued as soon as possible. The check will also include a record of the dates and amounts of oil that was collected. A receipt was left attached to the tank after each pickup for their records. We do apologize for any confusion. In regard to calling the police, please provide them with a copy of your contract with whatever information you give them (a copy was mailed on 6/24/22 as well). I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
I have called the number you have provided and left 4 messages over the last week and a half. Someone is yet to get back to me. No letter was ever received from your company in June. Last time I spoke to someone from Buffalo was back in December when I requested payment be sent out for oil collected. I was told payment will go out in the 1st quarter. I still have yet to receive that check. When I spoke to her about the payment I informed her that I had purchased the business and to update the name and address, she told me over the phone that she updated my account. I would like payment for all oil collections made from Sept 2022 - Sept 2023 ****** ****** **** ****** ***** ****** ****** ** ******

The response will be accepted once I receive a check -because the way you operate your business is completely unacceptable. I've requested a check over 10 months ago and still have not received it. It has been 5 business days since the request for a check was sent. It has not been processed yet, however will be. Reopening a complaint to the BBB will not speed up the process. The check will be mailed which is the resolution that was requested. As stated in the contract all payments will be made within 30 days. At this point it seems that reopening the case through the BBB is not to obtain a resolution but to attempt to tarnish the reputation of Buffalo Biodiesel.Customer Answer

I am not attempting to tarnish the reputation of Buffalo Biodiesel, you have succeeded in doing that through your business practices. This is the only form of communication I am able to have with you. I would like your oil receptacles picked up from these properties. *** ***** ******* ****** ** *****

Kevin, Thank you for reaching out. I believe in one of my responses I indicated that she needs to send written communication to Buffalo Biodiesel in the form of a written letter or an email to ************************************. The request should include her name, position with the company, reason for removal, and the address where the VAT is located. At that point the request will be sent to the owner for removal then it will be scheduled. Removals can take a while as there are limited drivers who can complete the removal process. Additionally, she will be put in line behind others in that area who have properly requested removals. To sum it up it's not a quick process. I have sent her BBB complaint to the customer service manager in hopes that it will suffice however it may be rejected so that's why it's important that she sends the request the proper way. Her complaint has nothing to do with the removal and she has not even properly requested a removal yet so I do not understand why she will not close this complaint. I will send you a second email that states "a proper removal requset has not been recived through customer service yet" A proper removal request has not been received through customer service. Removal of Buffalo Biodiesel equipment must come in the form of a written letter or an email to ************************************* The request should include the name, position with the company, reason for removal, and the address where the VAT is located.Initial Complaint

I am under contract with this company to recycle my waste cooking oil, I have reached out to them for the past six months, requesting a copy of my contract. Their services were not as described, and they are completely unreachable.Business Response

There is not enough information for me to review the complaint. The address given is a residence and not a business that we service. A copy of the contract is mailed out shortly after we process the contract at Buffalo Biodiesel, as well as a welcome letter that addresses common questions. In short, she should have already received a copy. We will be happy to get an additional copy to her if she can provide an account number or a correct business address. As for her wishes to terminate the contract, this is usually not possible until the contract terms have expired. once I get the business information, I will also have our legal team reach out.Customer Answer

Thank you for the information. The first request was received and sent to the documents manager on 9/14/2023. Since then, there were two additional calls made to Buffalo Biodiesel where requests were made for a copy of the contract. Each time a request was sent to the documents manager, and it appears that the owner was explicitly told this on 9/21/23. A BBB complaint was then filed on 9/22/2023. The request will be completed in the order that it was received, we cannot process a request faster just because a complaint was filed with the BBB. I can however inform that the contract end date is 10/8/2023. If service is no longer needed after that date a written request must be sent to Buffalo Biodiesel to remove the container. This can be done via certified mail or an email to ************************************* The information provided must include the business address (account number ***** can be added for additional clarification), requestors name and position with the company and the reason for removal.Initial Complaint

This company (Buffalo Biodiesel Fuels) is supposed to come empty my used oil vat ( that belongs to them) when I call them. My business is *********** In ******** ** ****** ** ****** *** I have now called 7 times starting on July 14th. The first call went to voicemail which I left all details asked for on the machine. Nobody called me back. I callled a few days later when I realized the oil had not been picked up. I got the answering machine again. Again, I left all pertinent information and nobody called me back. I have since over the last three weeks called repeatedly with only getting to speak with an individual twice. The first time she told me that a driver was called out and the second time I was told I was on the schedule but she could not tell me what day. The last three times I called it went straight to voicemail with nobody returning my call. The oil that has since been completely full with us having to shovel oil in various buckets. My business does an extreme amount of fryer food and this is hindering our business as we cannot even clean our grease trap out that is past due.
I feel you are my last option to get in contact with these people to actually make them come and pick the oil up as they will not even return my phone calls. I am at a loss of what to do. Their phone number is * ***** *********

Buffalo Biodiesel received the request for pickup of used oil on 7/21/23 and added it to the list of requests. We received a second request on 7/26 for a pickup. on 8/2/23 ******** spoke with Tammy stating she was extremely unhappy with the wait time and is demanding a call back w/a specific date for her. Unfortunately, this is not possible as requests are completed in order that they are received and are subject to availability of drivers. On 8/3/23 ******** left a message that if she didn't get a call today by 9am telling her we are picking up her today she wis calling the BBB. ******** was called back on 8/3/23 where she stated said she wasn't interested in working with Buffalo Biodiesel & would like the vat removed. A message was left later in the day that ******** would like to terminate the contract. A notification has been sent to our legal department and they will reach out to her to discuss her options. In the meantime, we are working at completing her pickup request as soon as possible. We understand that her request is urgent however we need to honor requests that were made before hers and operate in a manner that is logical and functional for operations. It has only been 14 days since the initial request, since 2019 we have completed all requests from this account with an average of 4 days (request and completion list attached). We do apologize for the inconvenience and will complete ********** request as soon as possible.Customer Answer

My name is ******* *********** and I am the owner of ** ******** **** **** ****** ** *****. I leased the property to ********* *********** *** as a restaurant, known as ** ******** ****** ***** Restaurant. They stopped doing business on April 30, 2023 and moved out on 5/1/2023. I was told that Buffalo Bio-diesel had been notified to pick up their container. I myself called on 5/10 and again on 5/15, 5/23 and on 5/30. I spoke with Tammy and on 5/30 I spoke with someone by the name of Burt. He said it would eventually be picked up but he could not give me a date. I was told that each time I called! It has been 20 days! I have oil spilled all over my parking lot when it rains and it is even flowing down the walkway, which leads to the southern basin of Lake George, NY. I have tried to be patient but I have new people coming to rent and I want the parking lot clean!Business Response

Removal services are completed in the order that they are received. ****** has placed multiple calls to Buffalo
Biodiesel and has been informed that the removal has been scheduled and will be
completed as soon as possible. ******** calls to Buffalo Biodiesel included threats of pushing the container into the
street and attempting to fine Buffalo Biodiesel $100 per day. On 5/30/2023 ****** threatened to contact the
BBB instead of contacting Buffalo Biodiesel.
Additional threats include ******* stating she is going to push the vat
onto town property and blame it on Buffalo Biodiesel. These threats were noted by Bert and Tammy who
she has referenced and were also recorded.
The cleanliness of the container
is the responsibility of the restaurant that previously occupied the
location. This was all in the contract
that the former occupants signed. Buffalo
Biodiesel is not responsible for the mess that was created by the former
occupants. Buffalo Biodiesel is working
to accommodate ******* and remove the container as soon as we possibly
can. Our daily operations are limited by
staffing and previous service requests. Threats and complaints directed to the BBB do
not improve the speed at which we are able provide the service that has been
requested.Customer Answer

There was not information provided after the statement "For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below." Therefore, there is no additional information that can be provided. Again, we are working as fast as we can to remove the container from the property. Removals are dispatched in the order they are received and are completed when we have a driver available. Complaints and threats do not speed up the process. As previously stated, we are removing the container for free, if ****** would like to pay to have the container shipped to out plant in Tonawanda, NY she is free to do so.Initial Complaint

I have been contacting Buffalo Biodiesel since last fall and without any success. I requested they remove my waste oil bin because it has a leak in it and oil spilled over my blacktop. They never answer their phone; all you do is leave a message. I got a call back once and they told my husband that the bin would be removed. The last communications I received from them was a threat of a lawsuit paying them thousands of dollars. Now, I don't pay for the bin so why would I owe them money. All I want is their bin removed and my dealings with them finalized. From what I have read on your site about this business, this is an ongoing problem.
I just left another message for them this morning at 10:25 am telling them that I want my bin removed, left my name, address and phone number.Business Response

Our records indicate that we have a contract that is valid until 2025. I have attached the letter that was sent with the specific instructions to call Cory and the number provided. ******* spoke with Cory on 10/11/2022 where he explained things and informed ******* of the fee associated with getting a new container. On 12/7/2022 the fee was explained again by the customer service representative where it was stated they were going to "scrap the container". The attached letter was sent on 1/3/2023. The problem is, as I explained to them before, the unit is unusable because there is a hole in the unit so we can’t even use it. It is an environmental issue at this time. We put the oil in and it comes pouring out. They wouldn’t even swap it out which I find completely unacceptable.

In my approximately 30 years in business Buffalo Biodiesel is the worst company I have ever dealt with period. They don’t pick up the oil and you can’t get ahold of them to do so. Then they threaten you with lawsuits. Harass your employees as well as you and still can’t seem to pick up the oil in a timely fashion. Stay away from this Company at all costs!!
With the oil flowing over they should rename themselves Buffalo Bio Hazard!!Business Response

These remarks are not true. Our number is listed on the tank for pickups and this restaurant has utilized that number 4 times and their oil was picked up within 3 days each time. If nobody answers there is an message that directs them to leave a voice mail with information and the option to request a call back. There was a certified letter sent on 9/10/2020 explaining to them their responsibilities along with frequently asked information, this included a number to call for pickups. A copy of the letter has been attached. This business singed into binding contract on 8/18/2020 and has since violated it. Simply put this restaurant violated their contract and we have reached out to try to settle the matter. They have our legal teams information and here is a direct number if there are any questions, *********4.Initial Complaint
