      TL;DR KeyBank has a company-wide policy where they don’t issue provisional credit to small businesses affected by fraud until their investigation can be completed. This can take up to 90 days.
      I’m a bit paranoid about fraud, so I check my bank accounts every day. Last Thursday morning I checked our business checking account with them and discovered that somebody had placed two separate charges totaling over $1,800. I did not get a fraud alert, despite these charges being made to two incredibly odd vendors and being for such high dollar amounts.
      I immediately flagged this to KeyBank as fraud. They locked the account, issued a new card in the mail, and said that things would be fully resolved within 90 days. “Great!” I said to myself as a closed the chat, everything was resolved.
      However, the next day I checked to see that money still missing from our account. I followed up on the live chat and their verbatim response was “Upon reviewing ‘We anticipate having your dispute resolved within 90 days.’”
      And so I said to clarify, do they mean that $1,800 could be missing from our account for up to 90 days and they said, “That is correct.”
      At this point furious, I sent an email to our local branch manager who set our account up. He called and apologizes, saying he would escalate it and then gave me an update a few days later via email, which verbatim read, “The response I just got back from my escalation was that Business accounts will not receive provisional credit.”
      If I had known this was KeyBank's business policy, there is absolutely no way I would have opened an account with them.

      KeyBank is terrible at customer service and taking advantage of its customers. They waited over two years to inform me that I was behind on escrow, all due to their assessments. When I inquired to see if we had possibly caught up to avoid paying an extra $600 per month, they failed to follow up until I messaged them seven months later, only to discover that not only were we caught up but we had overpaid. I also had an appraisal done by US Bank and a verified appraiser, sent it in to try to get my $376 PMI dropped. They said the appraisal had to be done internally by them, and I had to pay $190 for someone to take pictures of my property and tell me that my $1,100 appraisal from US Bank, valuing my property at $614,000, was wrong and that my property was only valued at $525,000. It seems like a lowball internal appraisal to keep taking my money, as if it's not hard enough to make ends meet in this economy. Anyway, stay away from KeyBank and consider doing your mortgage through anyone else

      I had a rather large stolen that was presented to Key Bank in Woodbridge CT for payment by the forger. The check looked forged too. I filed charges with the ******* ** ****** **********. I called Key Bank personally and spoke to 3 different people who all said the bank was fully insured for fraud written checks. Key Bank still refused to pay or reimburse my bank. They said that only checks cashed within 90 days are reimbursed. I had no idea the check was stolen and cashed until I received a delinquency letter from the recipient tax office.

      Worse process I have ever experienced while opening an account. You open an account o line a d ti get access to online banking they .ove at the federal government time frame slower than molasses in the winter. Opened an account went in to the bank to verify and now even though they directly verified my information it's going to take 10 days before I can access the account and utilize it as intended. This is absolutely unacceptable in all aspects of banking.

      I have used mobile deposit for years & today, after agreeing to $8.00+ fee, opted for immediate funds.
      Only to see that the funds would not be available till Monday. (It’s Saturday).
      Called customer service & was informed they could not cancel deposit & that I should ask my employer to cancel the check & issue a new one. The customer service rep & her supervisor were both patronizing & dismissive to the fact that I would be unable to provide food for my family (unaware of living paycheck to paycheck). I will be cancelling my account as soon as I am able to withdraw my money Monday.
      I would not recommend this bank to anyone.

      Complete scam bank! Saw the $300 welcome bonus for opening a checking account back in 11/24 thought awesome so I opened the page and signed up online. Waited and waited no bonuses after my first direct deposit. I get a hold of someone in live chat on the app they tell me 30-60 days okay fine I respect that. 65 days in still no bonus again chat with a live agent and she tells me I never entered the code to receive the bonus. ( What code? I signed up in your online page that said $300 welcome bonus) never asked me for a code!!!! So the agent would take about 5 minutes per response and because I didn't answer a question in less than 30 seconds they disconnect! No I'm super pissed off call the phone get a hold of someone who I thought was going to be helpful only to be told that I opened my account before the bonus was available! Wtf I wouldn't have signed up for your stupid bank for the hell of it. Because I have no records of the bonus code then I don't get the bonus. $300 would have been nice but this bank can miss my ass I will close my account by the end of the week

      So i have been dealing with key bank for years.if i had a choice i would not mess with them my uncle left his family a trust worth over a million so we get checks every 3 month plus a bonus when it first started all was good but the last 3 years a different person handles it.but most of the time you never know when your check will come in. I have tried on many diffetent times to email the person in charge but he refuses to answer any of my emails.sad thing is he is like vice presendent in that part .i get so frustrated cause i depend on this

      Was a customer for years and recently switched to a bank that actually pays interest. Key closed my checking and kept savings open which resulted in a $4 maintenance fee which would have ended up cascading into a lot more with overdraft fees if my new bank hadn't alerted me. Key did this without so much as an email, or phone call. Very scammy behavior to treat a former customer that you profited off of for years.

      I first tried the Key Bank app, to start an account for my direct deposits. It didn't work. So I decided to go to the bank to open an account. I opened an account a month ago. With no access to my money. Then when I asked about about my account they reported my account as fraudulent. Never told me about from a phone call, or an email. Instead a letter in the mail. That said you have 14 days , which came late. Then nothing but run arounds every since. With no real customer service help. I even went as far as going to a different branch in a different city . I even called there Fraud hotline multiple times to check the status, and they said I would have to talk to the people at that branch. Because they never received the what was needed. So I called the bank , and they received, but maybe they just haven't gotten around to sending in my verification, as fast as they would accuse someone of fraud... Maybe I'll try a Credit Union.

      I paid the remainder of my car loan and requested the title to be sent to my new address. I planned on selling it days later. Getting close to the sell date and the title has not arrived, I call back and they've sent it to my old address. Which is 7 years old and not even the state in which my loan/car/license is registered in. The best they could do was put in a request to have it resent and it would take 3 business days. I explained that was not good enough and I arraigned to sell my car, which I now have full ownership of since I paid off the loan, and I need the title sooner than that. I waited 49 mins to speak to a supervisor who was even less helpful than the rep who made the request. I understand mistakes happen... but it was their mistake and they should have just overnighted me another one. Super avoidable mistake, very small but caused me a major inconvenience. I went to the site to file a complaint just so that details like this, going forward, might not be overlooked and the site won't even allow me to submit my message. Just useless all around- happy to be done with Keybank!
