Trying to make an appointment is time consuming at the Clinic.
Today I made 3 different calls to different departments and it ranged from 4 to 8 minutes just to get a human on the line.
      Unacceptable.

Called the scheduling line to make an Eye Dr appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in Streetsboro last June- July (2022). I asked about insurance and was told that my medical insurance would be billed instead of my Eye insurance. I of course asked about the cost and was told it would be just my office visit copay of $25. I provided all my insurance information before I made the appointment to make sure it was accepted and of course the cost. So why am I getting a SURPRISE MEDICAL BILL nearly 10 months later for over $300!!!! A simple Eye Exam should NOT cost nearly $600!!! Apparently after my copay my medical insurance paid $276 of the bill which left $305 for me to pay. Completely ridiculous!!! This is absolutely terrible and unfair. I called Cleveland Clinic billing department and they were not willing to help me out or explain why I would receive such a large bill almost a year after a routine appointment. I should have read other reviews but assumed something like this wouldn't happen to me since I have good insurance and I had called ahead to get the cost of the visit.

This is pertaining to my experience including inappropriate conduct, unprofessional demeanor, and multiple erroneous entries into my medical record/ falsification of record by colorectal surgeon DR. ANNA ******* * *** ******** chart entries have overtly antagonistic, hostile and judgmental connotation, and are nothing but a fabrication which talks to gross negligence, preconceived bias and intentional harm. The worst part is that department chair Dr. ****** is siding with her despite of apparent gross mistakes and inappropriate rude behaviors exhibited by Dr. ****** during the visit and in her responses.
I have found total of 16 factual mistakes, and some of the entires are suggestive of slander, and refusal to correct them despite evidentiary support constitutes retaliation.
      - I was subjected to the Manometry test that was inappropriately administered and wrongfully interpreted - and was then illegally billed under the name of Dr. ****** who NEVER administered or supervised the test - which constitutes fraud.
      - Dr. ****** grossly falsified my record in her initial note - I found total of 16 mistakes ( see my initial complaint for specifics) - most of them represent and confirm gross negligence and incompetence.
      - Dr. ****** NEVER used anoscope to examine me - her exam was superficial only. I travelled 8 hours to CC so that she could touch my muscles?? This talks about her negligence.
      - the fact that despite numerous pieces of factual evidence Chair of the Department fails to objectively evaluate the situation, and continues to side with Dr. ****** speaks of his bias.
~ Dr. ****** and department chair Dr. ****** remain impervious to reason and facts which is short of reckless.
      I have submitted complaint to BBB, but Ombundsman's office are trying to shove it under the rug* *** ******* ** ** ****** **** ** **** ***** ******* ***** ***** **** ** * ****** ** ******* ********** *** ************ * **** **** ****** ********* ** *** ***** **********

The staff at Cleveland Clinic Gastroenterology in Port St. Lucie, FL are very rude. Appear to not be interest in the patient, just try to get off the phone. One staff member is a receptionist but tries to play doctor about my diagnosis. The insurance dept. does not answer the phone and you cannot leave a message to discuss bill for forthcoming procedure set in 5 days. Phone just rings off the hook.

I am on Medicaid I was trying to register without saying I would pay for excess bills. Shannon in registration came from around her desk to the kiosk to push buttons I specifically told her I wouldn't. I'm not the guarantor for any bills. By law they aren't allowed to bill me unless I sign a paper to say I will pay. I refused to sign so Shannon in registration took it upon herself to sign my name electronically. I've tried to resolve the issue through the ombudsman, but they refuse to acknowledge my call. The did tell some nice whoppers like, " The guarantor doesn't guarantee anything". "That doesn't mean that." You see, we that need help paying bills aren't capable of defining words, and today we fall for anything changing definitions of words to suit ones purpose isn't effective on everyone. I know what a guarantor is and a vaccine! I would recommend everyone stays away from Cleveland clinic Twinsburg the registration process and staff needs tweeking.

I took my sister to Akron General Emergency Room on Friday March 3, 2023. She was in intense pain of which we did not know what was causing it. She had had brain surgery in January at the Cleveland Clinic. She has Artery Disease. She was treated terribly by personnel from the moment we arrived. The ER was extremely packed. After 3 hours of sitting in wheelchair crying we asked if they knew when she’d be called back. We were told no! It doesn’t go by when you come in but by criticalness. Ok! At 3 1/2 a young man came in with a little boy. He had cut his finger. He was take back for vitals like every person was. Then brought back out. Then back for X-rays, again like almost everyone. Then within 15 minutes was called back. At 4 1/2 hours waiting we watched him come out from the back with his finger bandaged and left! He’d been taken care of. At that point I went out and grabbed my car and pulled up from and went in and got my sister and got her out of there. That is the most horrible excuse of an ER I have ever seen. We witnessed such ANGER from patients. Numerous people left. My sister received and email or letter today alerting her that when they did her vitals that her ECG was abnormal and that they could not rule out anterior infarction! That’s kind of important to know on a patient YOU HAD 2 years ago who had 3 strokes and had to have stents out in via Emergency. But she was deemed not critical but cut finger guy was! Your ER needs shut down. Your nurses and your staff at the front needs training. I understand there are tons of folks using ER as doctors office and I understand nasty ridiculous horrible people. We, however were not yet your staff treated us like second class citizens. Do they not realize WE PAY THEM? My sister has insurance. She pays for that insurance. That pays your employees. If they don’t like their job? Get out! This was 11:00 AM.

BILLING ISSUES - my appointments are the only billing issues where my at-time-of-appointment billing does not match my actual point-of-service receipts and credit card statements. They are months behind in matching up my payments to my statement and I get very annoyed when in MyChart (Cleveland Clinics client portal) shows “OUTSTANDING BALANCE - YOU OWE” with a 3-4 hundred dollar balance. You need to make an “appointment” in order to talk to someone in billing and it can be 3 weeks to a month to schedule one AND to kick you when you are down - you only get 50 characters to make a description of the issue (would be laughable if it wasn’t so damn annoying).

I am having an issue with CCF Billing. My insurance covers 100% for a physical and labs less the $25 co-pay. I called insurance as to why they didn't cover $17.26 for my office visit. They said look at your EOB. You don't owe that money. This was for an appointment in August. I sent the EOB's to CCF who in turn sent me to collections for $17.26 in December with nothing but rude people in their billing department. Now that is ridiculous. This is the second year I have had issues like this. Why can't they get their act together? I will full time, have excellent medical benefits. I don't have time to sit on hold for 3 hours with CCF. I have actually had conference calls with them and Aetna. Guess who was wrong? CCF.
