1 starMy personal complaint is not officially with the Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus, It is with the Cleveland Clinic in Avon. (R.E. Jacobs). I was a patient there in need of a surgery. Because I suffer from chronic Asthma I saw a pulmonologist to ok me for surgery. After testing I was told my lungs was not at full capacity, but I got the greenlight because surgery was very much needed. On the day of the surgery at the Avon hospital, in the prep room for surgery, My doctor for the procedure came in and introduced me to the 2 women who would be in the surgery with her. During this meeting I was coughing up. One of the women Erin ******* reached into the already filled trash bin and pulled out a cup to give it to me. I complained. I spoke to her boss Zac ****** ANM who was very helpful. The doctor asked me what I wanted to do. I replied since that was Erin's standard, I do not want her in the surgery room with me. She said, "OK." I had surgery. When I woke up, I am still in the surgery room and Erin is smoking a cigarette and blowing the smoke in my face. She didn't see me open my eyes because she was talking to another nurse facing the other direction, but when she turn to blow the smoke I closed my eyes so she wouldn't know I was awake. I couldnt move. I couldnt talk, or scream for help. And she kept constantly doing the same. I passed out. When I woke up I was in the prep room again, and I was gasping for air. I couldn't breathe! My husband was there and the second woman who was introduced to my by the doctor. She turned her back so that she couldnt see me struggling to breath. MY husband was pounding on my back asking for help. NO ONE HELPED! There was a woman directly infront on the computer. And one who walked passed. MY surgery wasthe last surgery for the day on that floor. There was an attempt made on my life and many accomplices. I passed out in my husband's arms. April 24. I made a complaint but they hanged up on me. I went to the Avon Police said no jurisdictionReview fromMark M.

1 starThe Cleveland Clinic has a concierge 2nd opinion program that costs $1850.00 up front. They
double billed me and it took two emails and a threat to report fraud to **** before the error was corrected.
I am partially paralyzed due to a spine surgery that went bad. I tried to find another surgeon to correct the bad surgery but could not after@12 surgeons in Pittsburgh, so I heard about Cleveland Clinic's 2nd opinion program and it gave me a renewed hope. I quickly enrolled and it has been one disappointment after another. I called my insurance company, ******** who said they could cover it but they needed 3 codes, NPI code, CPT code and a diagnosis code. The Cleveland Clinic refused to provide the codes. Then they lied to me about contacting ********. I was required to give permission for my medical records which I did, then learned that the 2nd opinion did not receive my latest x-rays or CT Myelogram. Then he failed to give me a promised follow up call re same. Then the nurse in charge of admissions lied to me about contacting ********.
Another weird occurrence, when I was told to call a certain named person and could not get hold of her, I was told this person changed her name (first and last names) and that is why I could not get a hold of her. She must have changed her name back because the girl I spoke to now went by the
the same name. Very strange. The whole operation from setting up an email account to diagnosis was very secretive and unwilling to grant my requests. I feel this 2nd opion program is a money grab after going through it and would not recommend it. I am still waiting for the double billing
from last week.Review fromLaura J

1 starTerrible all around
The program I signed up for was a waste of time and money. It wasn’t tailored to be and was worse than any service I had received at home. I received IV medicine 4 days in a row that is actually meant to be as needed, and only a few times a month. On top of it I could have taken it orally.
I also called for an estimate and was told it would be $0. I now have a bill for over $1600. The billing department said that’s what I need to pay with no explanation of why their estimate was so far off. I wouldn’t have signed up for the program had I known that’s what I’d owe.
All around, not at all helpful, terrible service, and the most ridiculous estimate provided.Review fromAmy V

1 starCleveland Clinic Children’s is one of the worst for communication. I have been trying so hard to get my child in since around October of 2023. I have returned all the requested information. I did get an email, only because I reached out in February to let me know she is in the list to schedule. I was given a phone number to call with further questions. I have called multiple times and left numerous voicemails since March requesting a call back in reference to a time frame when we would be scheduled or to find out if I possibly missed a call regarding an appointment.
When all of my calls went unanswered and none returned, I emailed the last person I was in contact with. That email went unanswered as well. Very unprofessional and a direct reflection of the type of care that the providers would provide. I don’t understand the lack of communication and unsure how this is tolerated.Review fromnorma D.

1 starMy name is ***** ** ********* and I been trying to get answers from Cleveland Clinic, I have done all the test before my pre-op and it has not been a placen experience, my primary doctor is ******* ** ***** ******* I have submitted questions on portal and no answer I have taking all the urine test, chest xray and seem cardiologist on March 19, all in the same day, and your staff claim they can not see the results because is was done at **********, I have call and when to ********** today and taking a morning off, I worked Monday to Friday and is not easy to take off. The customer service said we use the app my Chart and the nurse and Cleveland clinic claim said they can not see test results but 3 different people send fax to Doctor ******* office
Thursday 04 April ****** has fax result and no answer.
***** **** ********** outpatient has send a fax on Friday 04-05-24 no answer.
Today ********* has send a fax and the nurse said that it will take another 72 hours because that is the policy of Cleveland Clinic, I have also sign at the doctors office a realize form so the can the records much easier.
So why do Cleveland Clinic said the App My Chart is all connected and they customers live in dangerous.
This company is playing on lives they are very disorganized and when you call then you get different story’s.
The staffing at the doctors office do not know how to use the MyChart app to look at patience test and this will make a second delayed on a surgery that needs to be done urgently I am extremely disappointed. Such a large company is not organize and playing with peoples lives.Review fromCheryl F

1 starCleveland Clinic thinks they are God on Earth. Someone cancelled 5 appointments for cancer after my billing disputes. They also applied my payments to most recent charge instead of oldest charges, and thereby threatening collections. Ombudsmen kind, but no real explanation for any of my disputes. No answers! They do not hold themselves accountable for any errors whatsoever from obtaining medical records, insurance changes not recorded, insurance authorizations not processed, billing disputes, requests for billing/medical info in order to appeal insurance determinations, cancelling your appointments and procedures because ????? No answers except you owe them money. And you are at the mercy of the appointment desks to get anywhere within reach of real medical personnel or their offices. (appt desk tells me I have to 'fast' whereas I did not). It has been a nightmare dealing with CCF monster. 'Too big for their britches'. I am better off dying in peace than dealing with all the complications and frustrations the CCF monster created for me.Review fromBeatriz Z

1 starCleveland clinic has the worst accounting/invoice processing. They make you responsible for charges already covered by insurance. It take hours to communicate with them. Furthermore, they refer to you collection agency while claims are under review.Review fromJohn S

3 starsCleveland Clinic is a great health care organization. However, unless you are tech savvy and know how to use their MyChart, it is absolutely, totally impossible to speak to your doctor via Landline or nearly impossible to contact their office directly.Review fromjames D

1 starCleveland Clinic is the worst.
They purchase Martin County Health and the ruined it. The replace the computer software and it is horrible, even the employees agree.
The they transfered my records form 10 years ago and cause my doctor to call in my prescription to the wrong place.
It is impossible to get a person on the line, and they just don't care.
All they do care about is the money.Review fromMatthew F

1 starIn 2016 I had a terrible experience at an inpatient psychiatric facility run by CCF at their Marymount hospital location in Garfield Heights.
I self admitted into the unit because I thought that they would be able to get to the bottom of the issues I was experiencing.
The inpatient unit looked like it was ripped straight from “one flew over the cuckoos nest.” Like they used the movie set to design the place.
Dingy and dark and outdated. Hidden away in a far flung corner of the oldest part of the building.
I was there around Christmas.
I was coerced into taking psychiatric medicines that I objected to taking. I wanted to speak with a doctor about the meds before starting on them. None of the team of five or so people I first met with briefly were available, they all left for the holiday. I did not see any of them after that first day.
That evening a nurse forced me to take medicine i was repeatedly refusing. I was simply asking for informed consent. This male nurse used his size and position of authority to force me to take the medicine. I was literally backed into a corner.
It was a horrifying experience. They seemed to be mistreating more than just myself.
To this day I cannot get anyone at CCF to respond to my experience and address the issues I had here. Not the ombudsman. Not the customer care center. Emails and calls have gone unresponded to. This was life altering and ruined my faith in psychiatric medicine.
